  1. I like that you give away extra grafts most doctors do not, this actually lowers the cost per graft. Since you are one of the few Physicians that post, what are your thoughts on paying per session vs paying per graft?
  2. The other point that i want to make is do not be afraid to bargain with these doctors, you can get at least 1.00/graft lower than the first price quoted, for most people there are more than enough good docs in a geographical are so you are able to shop around.
  3. Has this happened with coalition members?
  4. Bill, shouldn't all coalition members abide by the same standards?
  5. Many dr's sub-cut their grafts to increase their numbers, what i am saying is to get your dr to agree to implant x number of grafts into a given area for a set price.
  6. The name of the dr does not matter, paying by graft is "old school", there is no other cosmetic surgery in which you pay by unit. What you do is agree upon the area to be covered, such as 40 grafts/cm2 you and the dr. sign off on this, and you agree upon the price, this puts the patient back in control.
  7. Why are members still paying per graft? You are better off paying a flat fee for the area that is to be transplanted. I did this on my last procedure and it worked out very well.

  9. I'm still confused, as long as a doctor produces good results a patient shouldn't care about their training or medical background.
  10. Dr. Feller, If there is no need for a hair restoration board, is there a need for other medical speciality boards?
  11. What is the difference between the ABHRS and the American Board of Hair Transplant Surgery ?
  12. Lets wait and see what his 12 month photos show. Shouldn't a person lose a significant amount of recipient hair before starting this procedure? How many clients do you turn away each month, or is everyone a candidate? What is the minimum age that your clinic will do a transplant on? Should the Hair Transplant Network impose age limits as part of their standards?
  13. We are seeing more and more of this, A patient of H&W posted is results at 5.5 months, and he had more hair in his before photos, then in the 5 month photos, in my opinion he should have never been done, he will never see his native hair again, and was just set up for future surgeries wether he can afford them or not, Doctors have to be more accountable and responsible.
  14. During the consultation, the doctor should take into account the amount of existing hair and let the patient know that if shock loss occurs there might not be a net gain of hair. Was this covered during your consultation?
  15. The same thing happened with me on all 3 of my surgeries, that is just a sign that the hairs are starting to come in, wash your hair with an anti-bacterial soap. If one of the pipmles gets worse and won't go away, go see your doctor he will lance it and it will be fine.
  16. I am not justifying the behavior. What doctors do better than most is they settle out of court. Ask yourself this, why have so many doctors both members and non-members given up their speciality to get into hair? There is no such thing as a residency in hair transplantation.
  17. The thing to remember is that doctors are human, they face the same moral and ethical challenges that we all do, they get into trouble with greed just as members of the clergy do. if one member doctor sees a patient and determines that the patient needs 1500 follicular units, and a second member physician determines that the patient needs 2000 folicular units, is the 2nd doctor unethical? does the patient care if the outcome is what he wanted? What about the doctors who work on patients in their early 20's?
  18. Hairtech, Do you think that you are representing the Doctors that you work for in a positive light. I would like to hear from some of those Doctors if they are paying attention to these posts.
  19. Would list each Doctor that you have worked with in each state that you list ? Have you ever performed the "punch" aspect, or have you seen other techs doing the "punch" aspect ?
  20. Are you stating that you, not the Dr. performed the FIT/FUE, or did I read that wrong. That being said, with all of your experience are Dr.'s letting the techs do the actual extractions of the grafts ?
  21. PCC I looked up some Florida statutes and the language is fairly vague. In a hairtransplant procedure if the doctor orders the assistant to insert the follicles it appears to be fine. Where in Florida are you?
  22. What are your reasons for posting? Are you being paid by the doctors that you work for if you send them a consumer from this site? Describe the quality of work that was being done while you worked at Bosley? Size of cases? Types of sites? # of staff/patient?
  23. When you enter into a contract with a physician, make sure that you get in writting that his most experienced techs will be working on you, you don't want the newbys, let them practice on someelse, at any given time half of a clinics staff is new
