thanks for the replies- i do have signifigant miniturization pretty much all over the top,(besides the front tuft. the mole removal surgery was pretty big and required a pretty big scar to remove, it was wierd because i always had thin hair, but i only just started shedding about one month after the surgery and havnt stopped since(6 months out, 6 months on propecia). i am definately balding, seen two derms, two ht docs, but i just dont understand the severity of it. Im shedding like crazy and at this point it seems like ill be bald on top in 3 years.

i'm almost 21(prpecia 6 months, shedding gotten worse), diffuse thinner almost nw5a(the type where you notice it really bad when your hair is wet, but when its dry and not in intense direct light its almost unnoticable), my dad is 53, just beginning to have minor thinning in the front, and no one else in my family ever loss their hair, my maternal grandpa had his hair untill he was like 55 too untill he thinned. my brother is almost 20 and he has a full thick head of hair. the only possible reason i can come up w is the past two years i ve had some really stressful situations and had a scalp surgery(mole). i just dont get it! --if i do have accelerated hairloss from these stressful events and surgery, is there a chance it will it stop before nw 6,7, even if im still young, or am i doomed?? BTW thanks all on this site for the info, its nice to talk with people that are going through or gone through what i am!

i was told i have a pretty good amount of donor hair and would be a good candiate for a ht sometime in the near future, but im concerned that i dont have a lot of laxity. i mean i can move my skin back there but not that much, maybe around half an inch, maybe a little less. but if i plan on having at least two procedures done is that a realistic possibility if i already have pretty bad laxity?>

hey guys, im pretty sure(if the situation is ok) im going to be getting a HT within the next 2-3 years, so i was wondering what docs you recommend in the la/orange county area? i gone to rassmans office and talked with dr pak(does ne1 know rassman or paks fees?), but i have also gone to ziering in newportbeach and im not to sure about him, he seemed professional but something about it didnt make me feel that comfortable. If any of you guys could list a docs name,your expierience(if you had one) in the socal area and his fees i would really appreciate it. thanks so much! im already saving up and am doing a pretty good job so im just trying to get an idea about what my goals should be

alright just to let you guys know im 20 and have diffuse patterned loss(no hairloss in family history), but the thinning is just on top(its getting pretty bad), sides and back are still thick, ive seen two hairloss docs and both say im not ready for HT, which i understand, and put me on propecia (6months ago, not doing anything, and i also had a scalp surgery on the side of my head to remove a mole about 4 months ago and ever since then i have been shedding like crazy) so my questions regarding HT are: 1. is there anyway to know or estimate what norwood class someone will end up with? lets say i get a surgery within the next 3-5 years and only have lossed on top but nothing down the bottom of the crown or the top of the sides what happens if i get the HT on top but then i have a bald spot where the rest of the hair loss continues?? 2. im taking propecia .5mg because i have to many side effects on 1 mg, should i even continue? is .5 making a difference? sorry my questions are a little confusing, thanks for any help

thanks for help guys, update, i just applied my first rogain foam dosage, my derm asked me today if i wanted to started propecia and i said no, im to scared! im gona need some more convincing on that 2 percent, so pretty much im just gona do what i can untill i can get a transplant, hopefully sometime before im 25, im thinning rapidly so i hope i can make it that long

but isnt takin propecia just delaying the inevitable? unless you stay on it for the rest of your life? the long term effects could be a lot worse than loosing your hair?

i will do that, but i can tell you that the hairs on my scapl on extremely thinner than the hairs on my sides and back

Thanks so much for the replies guys, i just got back from my "free consultation" at hair club and thought it was a joke, i felt i was being haggeled to buy a used car or something, what do you guys know about PROVILLUS, i know its not propecia but it claims to have monox in it and it has full money back guarantee? thoughts??

i guess what im trying to get at it trying to confirm or not if its MPB, do u think that hairclub, or bosley will be able to diagnose me? or do you think its a scam? i just want my hair loss diagnosed! how would you recommend going about that, i dont see my derm until the end of august, again thanks for any help or advice

thanks for the quick reply, i saw my derm about a month ago and he thought it was telogum effium, he put me on clobetasol propionate, some hair steriod, which i was on for 2 weeks and did not work! i cant stop stressin about it so im going to get a free consultation with hair club soon

hi all im 20/m have always had very fine light blonde hair, dont have a bad family history of early hair loss, i broke my leg back in sep 06 (almost a year ago) and immediatley began thinning drastically, everyone including the doc thought it was stress, it is now been a year and im thinner than ever, still shedding, and have a receding hairline!! ive been using nioxin system 1 and im to scared to go on propecia! somebody help please!! thanks!
