  1. Thank you all. Of course you are correct. The more I read here the more I realize that this is a major undertaking - physically and financially. It is not just walking into a clinic for an ingrown nail, or something. How do I PM here?
  2. You guys (and gals?) are great with your responses. So I am planning on a free consult with the Shapiro group. What questions should I ask? I kinda get the idea of the procedure itself but among the posts that I read (about MHR) I saw interesting comments like: who is doing the procedure: someone complained about the doctor doing the hairlines and "kids" doing the rest. Someone else was talking about the specifics - I cannot read my notes now - about using special blades? Thank you for any information.

  4. I admit, the MHR clinic is close to my place and have been thinking of using them for my transplant. However, a quick search of this site gave me second thoughts. At least, the first notes that I read are from 2002, 2004 and 2006. Are they still that bad? In all location? I will seek also the Shapiro Group after reading the posts here. Longer drive but this is a decision that can not be taken lightly.

  6. Thank you for your replies. So it is the follicles themselves, not the "soil" where they are growing that cause the growth.
  7. I am seriously considering hair transplant. I am curious as why would new follicle grow in an are that, obviously, did not support the original ones. Is it the follicles, or the blood supply to this area? Thanks.
