  1. Not everyone sheds. I lost only about 10-20% of my FUVs following the procedure. The remainder just continued to grow or remained stagnate and then grew a month or two later. I am now 5.5 months post -op and after about 5 months I looked like a different person. Shortly after the procedure no one had noticed that I had a transplant. But after about five months many people made comments about how good my hair looked or that I looked different. However, I hadn't seen my brother for a while and last week when we had dinner he came out and asked me (in front of my entire family)if I had a transplant. I denied it of course- responding that the Rogaine has really worked wonders!Good luck and I'm sure 5 months from now you will be ecastic with the results. Ryan
  2. Monty, did you ever undergo a transplant with Seagre? What is the basis for your opinion?
  3. Yes, I went to the Seagre Transplant Centre. However, the transplant was performed by Seagre's associate, Dr. Cam Simmons.
  4. I just wanted to share a great experience that happened last night which only other HT vetrans could appreciate. By way of background I had 3000 all fuv's on Jan 24, 2002. They were all placed on the front third of my scalp because fortuately I have not experienced any balding in the crown area. I'm 30 years old and have already experienced significant growth. In fact, my hairline is already re-established. Anyway, last night I was at Casino Niagra for a buddy's stag. For those of you who are not familiar with this casino they are extremely strict in terms of requesting proof of age from patrons as you enter the casino. They card anyone who looks under 40 and I was even carded prior to my transplant with my receding hairline and all. When the security officer saw my photograph on my driver's license he indicated that the person in the photo looked alot older and then had to get a another sceurity officer because he was unsure as to whether the person before him was the same guy in the photo. My driver's license photo was probably taken when I was 25 or 26 years old. I eventually got into the casino without having to explain to the security officers (and to the 50 people in line behind me) that I had a hair transplant but it was a five minute ordeal. Now most people would have been rather annoyed by this but the truth is it was one of the best five minutes I have ever experienced!

  6. Hi Brent. I did in fact have the transplant on Jan 24th as scheduled. I had 3006 all FUV grafts. I decided to go with Dr. Seagre's associate Dr. Cam Simmons because I was able to save over $5000 when you factor in taxes. Simmon was trained by Seagre. In addition, since the same technicians plant all of the grafts using the same equipment and method perfected by Seagre, I did was fairly confident that I would get equivalent results going with Simmons instead of Seagre personally. I was also told this by the sales consulatant when I asked whether or not the result would be any different if I went with Seagre as oppossed to Simmons. In any event, the procedure went smoothly. I watched a movie and remember very little of the procedure due to the amnestic effect of the sedatives used. The procedure took abot 12-13 hours in total. I was in some pain the first night but only had minor throbbing for two days therafter. I stopped using the pain mediaction after 3 nights. The swelling was very minimal although I did experience some. It took about 12-13 days for all of the the scabs to fall off. I would highly recommend taking at least 2 weeks off of work. I returned to work exactly two weeks later and no one noticed- at least they did not mention anything. However, the recipient area was pink which I was able for the most part to camouflouge with my existing hair. I did not experience any shock loss- or at least it was not noticeable. This was notwithstanding the fact that the grafts were transplanted not only to my temples (which were bald) but also between and around my existing hair. I am now almost 6.5 weeks post-op and not one of my friends has mentioned anything to me (I did not tell them I had the procedure) but they are the type that would mention it if they noticed something odd. At this point I would say only about 50% of the FUVs have falllen out. The others are starting to grow or have remained a similar length. In addition, there are some dots on the surface of the skin which suggests that the FUV's are already starting to grow. I will keep you posted. I'm looking forward to the spring and summer.
  7. Where does one go to purchase these products? I live in Toronto Canada.
