  1. Hi Guys

Haven't been on forum for sometime but pm from 57mph pricked my conscience!

Could not be happier with my result and that largely explains my absence - I do not have an issue with my hair any more and my obsession with HT's / forums etc disappeared when my issue with losing my hair was "solved" - that said I still intend to return to Dr Feller at some time to "finish" the job and get my crown done.

It's nearly 3 years since my HT, I will post some photos later today to show how it looks today.

I agree with above posts - both top rate clinics. Your story reminds me of my own situation, I also wanted a one and done HT.

My shortlist also included H&W, Dr. F and one other - I decided on Dr Feller and am delighted with the with result - I found the decision stage the most difficult part, so if you live in the South East of England, I would be happy to meet up and show you my results.

    Thanks HC

I needed to do strip for the first HT due to the quantity of grafts required, but for phase 2, i want FUE purely for the reduced downtime. I am 42 now and my hair loss seemed to stabilise before my first HT so I don't feel the need to "strip" out (also on propecia which I seem to have repsonsed well to).

Just had a look at your blog - 2700 grafts will make big difference!

  4. Hi

I have updated the album on this thread to show the 11 months pics.

Still planning to address crown, work commitments will probably prevent me doing FUE this side of XMAS. Going to give PRP a go in the meantime (hopefully in the UK, otherwise will "pop" to NY).

Want to try PRP out of interest - I'll keep you guys updated.

    All the best

Is this legal in the US? icon_eek.gif

Good to see you back B-Spot.

The idea that having an HT is somehow embarrassing is in our own minds. I didn't keep it a secret at all, 94.7%* of the reaction is fascination / positive, some see it as vain but who cares?!

By not keeping it a secret takes so much pressure off (especially in the early days). I wore a baseball cap for a few weeks but people were always asking for a "peek".

If your teeth fall out it wouldn't be embarrassing to say you are going to have implants? I always said that I have not had anything enhanced, simply restored.

    * I made that bit up

  6. Scotty - it may not be cold feet, when you decide to have a HT you feel you have found a resolution to something that has been troubling you, once a "solution" is found the problem no longer seems as big as it was. Perhaps you have merely reduced the perception of your "problem".

Not sure if the above sounds like complete b****x but I think I went through a similar experience!

I think UK NHS Doctors have an administration problem with charging for tests, this may explain his reluctance. Mine "forgot" to charge me despite me reminding him some time later.

Best wishes for your procedure, you have choosen a great Dr - having a HT was one of my best decisions.

  8. Thanks Yukon,Petchski,Eman.

Spex - will get some more pics. up at the weekend.

Mike - Yes going to go for a second pass for the crown, heavily leaning towards FUE, I was hoping to get it done in August but work commitments make that less likely. Tempted to "pop over" to NYC and give PRP a go (Spex - is this a possibility?).

Hi Mick - Good point about the passport, I'd better check! Pretty much everyone knows I had a HT (which is a good job because my 6 year old son announced it on a local radio interview at his school!!). I get the biggest reaction from those I see infrequently as the change appears more dramatic.

  9. Thanks for comments.

Spex - sure I can do some distance shots - i thought the close ups posted above showed how natural the hairline was and in most transparent way!!

I have no intention (or ,imo any need), for any hairline refinement - very, very pleased with hairline as is.

Abby - cheers buddy, slick back was for the photos only, but maybe it time for a new look!! Do you have any updates on your HT - your 9 mths shots look like you had good growth, have you let it grow now?

    All the best

    Hi Azza

About month 4 i started to notice a real difference. I was very fortunate to have experienced early growth, I know from reading your story that you naturally have concerns but I think my early growth was exceptional - be patient it will come.

Spex - No problem, will take some hairline photos and post - you down south any time soon?

I'll PM/email you re: possibility of stage 2 (got a few questions I would like to ask Dr F.).

Petchski - No doubt the propecia has made a difference, I started taking it a couple of months before my HT - the best thing about the stronger crown is that there is enough there for the Nanofibres to attach and make the reamining "bald-patch" disappear.

Bill - Yeah, I can and do have bad hair days now! Best wishes for your latest surgery.

Thanks again to all who have commented.

  11. I am now 8 months Post HT. - **UPDATED to 11 mths*

After the first few weeks of checking my hair every 10 mins, I began to realise that it was not the most productive use of my time!

I didn't keep my HT a secret and so was able to canvas many opinions - such as

    1. My wife who said she didn't really mind either way if I had an HT, to being really amazed by the results and the difference it has made to how I look.

    2. My barbers - they have never seen a HT that looked so natural - they have only seen bad UK pluggy HT's

    3. Several Doctors and surgeons (my wife's side of the family nearly all in the medical profession) who have given my head an inspection that was similar to "monkey grooming" - all agreed that the naturalness and scar healing were excellent.

    4. Friends and family - most admitted to being very sceptical and felt I was pursuing a route based on "desparation" - all now postitively surprised on the outcome todate.

The decision to have a HT has been one of my better ones - I feel a debt of gratitude to Spex for all his help in the early stages and Dr Feller and his team for the results thus far which I really couldn't be happier with.

Next for me is the crown - I really want to avoid long downtime this time round and will be contacting Dr Feller to discuss the possibility of FUE.

  12. Hey Crown - hope you are keeping well, seems like a long time since we were both in NYC!!

Crowns are a pain re: the slower growth, but you should achieve great coverage with 3.5k - I am just thinking about when to get mine done!

Your growth to date is looking good for a great final result, might be another 8 months to full maturity but it's going to worth the wait.

    Keep sprouting.

Eman's advice is spot on - you need to see results posted by patients, lots and lots of results.

I do not know anything about HS hair clinic, but just bear in mind that Harley Street is just a street in London with high rental values - it is not a reflection on the abilities of the Doctors that rent the space, they just need to cover the rent, patients ultimately pay the rent in any case (the analogy "Fur coat, no knickers" springs to mind).

Research loads, do not make such an important decision based on location.

    Good Luck
