  1. nm76, I just received 2500 grafts (first HT) on May 22 (Thursday). I was back at work on Tuesday May 27 and nobody noticed anything. I received 50% of grafts in the crown and the rest spread on the top and front area. I have some hair and was able to comb over the areas to conceal it. My crown is bald so nothing could conceal there. I have not had a single person tell me anything, notice anything, or have a strange look. I think I healed a lot faster than normal thanks to Monavie acai fruit juice I have been taking for a 4 months. I could have returned to work on day 4 and it would have been fine as well. The only aspect that was a little strange were the white grease balls I got. Not everyone gets these, but they only lasted from day 5 to 7 and you had to look closely at my head to notice. I work on IT as a Project Manager in consulting. I was at my client site on day 5. No issues. Good luck. Some pictures are in my blog. You can tell with wet hair, but once dry, I was 100% concealed.
  2. Thanks for the replies guys. Everything has been going great except for the white balls. I switched to a Burts Bees shampoo today instead of the baby shampoo in case that helps. I may just stick with the baby stuff for another week or so if the white balls are normal. Regards Mario
  3. I posted the pictures on my blog and you can't see the white dots on these pictures due to the resolution. I will try to posted them on another blog or something.
  4. Hi, It has been 1 week since my HT. My healing is going really well. I have a weird and very specific question. I have washed my hair every day after day 2 with baby shampoo while using a water pitcher in the shower. I hardly have any scars where the grafts have been placed. I do have some small white balls that look and feel like a small piece of white fat or grease. I see a few of them when I comb my hair. They are primarily in the crown area. As if when you scrape off a small dry pimple from your skin. I don't they they are the grafts. It's not dandruff or flakes of skin from my head either. Hair is not attached to them. You can see some of them if you look carefully in my blog in the last posts. Has anyone experienced this? What could it be? Thx Mario
  5. I don't know the exact count but it was about 50% in the crown (1,200) and the other 50% spread around the top and front hair line. I mostly had 2s and 3s which would help fill it in more. I strongly recommend anyone getting a HT soon to take Monavie. This is an all natural juice concentrate with the main fruit being Acai from Brazil. This stuff has helped me heal very fast from a bike accident a few weeks ago. I was shocked at how fast my hands and knees healed. I think the Monavie will help a lot with the graft healing as well. You can purchase a case of the juice on ebay for about $100 (that will last a month since a case includes 4 bottles and you drink about 1 bottle a week). I will post pictures in a few days and then on a monthly basis.
  6. Hi, I just got back from traveling to Miami to get 2,400 grafts from Dr. Epstein. It went really well. I am really happy with the work he did and how well I was treated by his staff. I posted pictures and details on my blog: http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=772

  8. I just came back from my Surgery with Dr. Epstein in Miami. It went really well. His staff were great. I had 2.430 grafts inserted. I had a lot of 2 and 3's from what they told me. I have posted a lot of pictures during the procedure on my blog. http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=772 I strongly recommend Dr. Epstein. Very professional and his staff took great care of me. Thanks to Roxy, Candy, Karen, Raul, Jackie, and the dozen or so other people who participated in the procedure.
  9. I have booked the date with Dr. Epstein. I will be getting 2,400 to 2,500 grafts on April 18. I finally made the decision after 5 years of research and considering the procedure. I will start a blog and update pictures on a regular basis. Regards, Gator Mario
  10. Thank you again for the active participation. I felt the technique, reputation, and quality of Dr. Griffin and Dr. Epstein are very similar (from what I could tell and research). The final decision will likely come down to cost since I would get twice the number of hairs with Dr. Epstein. I think cost should be a factor if all else is almost equal. Regards Gator Mario
  11. Griffin was very nice and also informed me that he goes beyond the number quoted. So 1300 would turn out to be about 1400 or so. He estimated I needed 1000 in front + 400 on top + 300 in the crown = 1700 FU. That would cost me $10,000 which is out of my range. That is why he suggested 1300. Sorry if this added confusion. I will re-iterate that both doctor visits were very professional. Thx.
  12. Thanks for the prompt reply. I have just taken 3 pictures to show you. I think I am a 3V to 4 on the scale. Epstein quoted me 2400 to 2500 grafts for $8,400 (he said that would be on the high end since 2200 would also be fine). Griffin quoted me 1,300 FU equivalent to 2,600+ follicles for $8,500. Based on your comments, I would get a lot more hairs with Epstein ($3.36 per graft). I wonder if Griffin is really quoting at $6.54 per graft or I am missing something. Pictures are attached. 13. Hi, I am 32 years old with hair loss that started at age 20. I have visited two doctors with high reviews - Dr. Epstein in Miami and Dr. Griffin in Atlanta, GA. I live in Atlanta, GA. I was very happy with both Doctors. I would pick any of the two for the procedure. I am currently leaning towards Dr. Griffin simply because he is located in Atlanta. I have a question about the quotes I received to ensure I am comparing apples to apples. Both doctors use Strip method and perform Follicular Unit Transplants. Epstein quoted me $$ for 2,400 to 2,500 grafts. Griffin quoted me for $$ for 1,300 "Follicular Units" which he stated is equivalent to about 2,600 (or more) "Follicles". The price quotes for both were very close. My questions are: With Epstein, do I get 2,500 incisions? Does Epstein cut multi hair follicles into smaller sections to insert 1 hair at a time? Or does this really mean I will get about 1,300 incisions resulting in 2,500 hairs just like Dr. Griffin quote me? Dr. Griffin stated he does not like to break up a multi hair follicle. He likes to keep them together to not disturb the genetic composition of the follicle. Is this recommended? Please advice if the procedures they have quoted me are about the same. Your help is appreciated. I am looking to pick the doctor this week. Regards MGM
