OK, I think I figured out how to get my photos properly placed on here......so here we go. I received a 2200 HT in February 2006. This was my 2nd HT (previously had 2200 in Nov 04). I need some advise. Based on these pics, I really am not happy with my HT. My temple areas look worse that before.....and before you say it, it is NOT from further hair loss. I take propecia and I know that my hair losses in my temple areas stabilized (I was thin there before the HT). I think my doc concentrated too much on top instead of distributing more evenly. I think you can see the greater density on top. To be honest, my hair is shorter in the AFTER pics, but that is because the increased density on top forces me to keep it shorter. However , you "cut it", I think I look worse now. My doc says the pics look fine and and the difference is more a result of the angle of the pics. I don't believe there is any merit to that. I would appreciate your comments on this. These pics are 18 months post op.....I waited as long as possible before finally deciding to post pics and get additional advice. I really wanted to be as fair as possible.

OK, simply put, can I get a doctor's answer to the following question:

What is the maximum amount of time I should allow between propecia doasges?

I have read various comments on how long propecia stays in the system.............but it is never by a doctor. Once and for all, could we get a doctor's on-the-record answer to this oft asked question?

Be careful, I have straight hair and my HT did not go as planned. I believe that not slicking my hair back (like my doctor does) had something to do with it. He even mentioned that my hairstyle was unique compared to "most guys" because they combed it straight back. I thought that was a pretty weak excuse on his part. Be careful, these things don't always turn out as rosy as planned.

Its my 2nd HT with total grafts of 4500 in the front and midscalp area, and I was a NW 4-5 before the surgeries, so coverage is not the issue.

For now, I am in discussion with my doc and he has been receptive to my concerns. I don't think it is necessary to drag his name out at this point. His reaction has been similar to all of yours.

I appreciate everyone's thoughts. I kick myself every day because I was going to question the doctor's suggestion but I didn't. Let me give it some more time. Its been a long year.

I would like some feedback on graft placement. I received my second HT of 2200 grafts 10 months ago and I remain concerned with the placement. My doc recommended I go very dense on the top middle going back (picture a mohawk) and less density as I get to the sides and temples. I went along with his recommendation but in hindsight I would have preferred a more even distribution through out. For 2 reasons; 1. It is more difficult to style my hair now because of the different densities between the top and sides and 2. I envision my hair continuing to thin and being left with a bulk of hair on top of my head. What is the typical philosphy relating to graft distribution. (Oh, I also have a pretty large bald crown area which makes the high density on the top look even stranger).

The location of grafts is very important in making a natural look. If you think "the more hair the better" without regard for placement, you are in for a rude awakening..........still working on the pics.
