  1. Lorenzo, I did check out several doctors, several websites, and forums. And in fact, I did see some of the complaints on the forums about Dr.Bauman. However, he has done thousands of transplants and I will not pass judgement on someone based on a handful of negative responses. I'm certainly not discrediting the people who have had bad experiences nor am I saying they don't have the right to share their experience. In fact, if I had a horrible experience I would share it as well. After reading so much negativity about Dr. Bauman, and after having such a great experience myself (so far), I felt it was only fair to share it with everyone else. I have read in these forums over and over about how horrible he is so I wanted to just let people know that in MY experience, I feel the complete opposite. Again, I know I'm two days into it and things could go completely the opposite of what I am hoping for and expecting. However, after the treatment, professionalism, and genuine concern I received from Dr. Bauman and his staff, I have faith that things will work out in the end. I'm an optimistic person and I feel I made a good decision by choosing Dr. Bauman. Lastly, I really am sorry for those who have not had good results with Dr. Bauman. I don't know the history of them all or to be quite honest, anything about them. But I hope the best for everyone and hopefully someday they can get it resolved and everyone can be happy (as they can be). Thanks for the responses everyone. P.S. I'm out for the night. The Vicodin + Valium combo is starting to wear me down. Have a good evening everyone.
  2. Well, after reading that thread I guess I'm expected to provide proof. So... here is a picture of my pack of all my post-op goodies as well as my meds and my Bauman medical folder. Pretty crazy that this is all necessary considering I just wanted to share my experience.
  3. Thanks hairthere. I will keep you guys posted on my results. Hopefully all goes well and I start sprouting some new hairs sooner than later! Cheers.
  4. I just spoke with runman on the phone a few minutes ago and I'm sorry your results didn't turn out the way you were wanting Carl. It's unfortunate to spend this kind of money on a procedure to not get the outcome we are all wanting/hoping for. I know its day 2 for me so I can't really tell how my outcome will be but my experience thus far has been a good one. I will keep everyone updated as I progress along and hopefully in a few months we will see some growth. I will definitely provide pictures along the way. Good talking to you Carl, you seem like a nice guy.
  5. Again, I just took these with my iphone so quality isn't that great. IF you guys still want to see more, I'll be back home in Texas tomorrow and can have my wife take some for me (if necessary). Here is the first one
  6. Runman, I'm sorry your experience was not very good. I'm not bragging about Dr. Bauman either. I'm simply sharing my experience, which in fact was great. And as you said, 6 months from now I may be tooting a different horn. But as for now, after today, I'm completely happy. My total cost for the 2536 grafts was $11,100. Sparky, I'm in my hotel room at the moment and all I have is my iphone. Give me just a few minutes and I'll see if I can get a decent shot and I'll upload them. I apologize if the quality isn't the best. Hopefully they will come out ok.
  7. Thanks man, I hope so. I've been on propecia since August and intend to stay on it forever!
  8. I apologize for making several posts in a row but I wanted to add one last thing. I will keep my photos posted here as my results progress. I'm on day 2 now so I will have a ways to go!
  9. I'm not sure how to upload several pictures to one post but here are some more.
  10. I just read the post about the gentleman with the dreadlocks and I certainly hope I do not get the feedback from everyone that he received. With that said, I will share my experience. I had my hair transplant just yesterday and my follow-up appointment today. I've read these forums for a while but I have never posted anything because I have had nothing to contribute or really had any questions that I could not have answered by just doing a simple search. I know some of you will be skeptical about me being some sort of representative or Dr.Bauman himself so I will include my pictures, and if anyone wants, they can pm me and I will give them my phone number. This is a place to share experiences with our surgeons so that is what I am doing. Now about my experience... From the first phone call I made to Dr. Baumans a month and a half ago to walking out the door for my follow-up today, I can honestly say I have zero complaints. I was very nervous about doing this and even more skeptical after reading some negative reviews here on this forum. However, my father is a general contractor and he is one of the most genuine, kind, soft-hearted guys I know and does his absolute best for every customer and still gets complaints. So, I know that there are always more than one side to each story. Moving on... I had several questions over the past month and Tara from Dr. Bauman's office was absolutely awesome. She always responded the same day and was wonderful. When the day arrived (yesterday), Dr. Baumans office arranged a shuttle for me to be picked up in and I was at their office by 7:30 am. They sit me down under a laser therapy lamp for about 15 minutes and then I did the scalp wash. I met Dr. Bauman after that for the first time (in person) and he really was a genuinely nice guy. He LISTENED to every question and concern I had and was really good at explaining things to me. We went over my goals and expectations and then he drew the hairline on that we both agreed on and took some photos (which I will share) and then I went into the operating room. In the operating room was 3 technicians (that I'm aware of). I was a little out of it at that point. They began numbing my head and shaving down the hair where my donor strip was. Once everything was numb, Dr.Bauman came in and began cutting and removing the donor strip. While all this was going on, everyone was extremely friendly and constantly asked me if I needed anything or if I was comfortable etc. They really did seem to care. They put in "The Office" for me and we probably watched 15 episodes! Once Dr.Bauman removed the strip, he then sutured it up while the techs disected the grafts. Once it was stitched up Dr.Bauman begain making the incisions for my implanted hairs. At this point I fell asleep and woke up just in time for lunch. After lunch two-three of his technicians placed the grafts in. They were all very friendly and again, I was very happy with the way everything went. Once this was all finished (around 5:00 pm). They went over all of my instructions in detail and gave me all of my medications and set the appointment for me to come in today for my follow up appointment. They had me shuttled back to my hotel and Dr.Bauman even called me last night about 8:30 pm to check on me. So, my overall experience was above and beyond what I expected. The negative criticism from this site was an issue with me and to be completely honest, that is why I am posting my experience today. While I do not know the details to the complaints, I think its only fair that I share my experience and I would recommend Dr.Baumans office to anyone and everyone that is interested in having the procedure done. Now, about me: I'm 28 years old receding hairline with thinning hair in my crown I had 2536 grafts implanted and I had the linear procedure If anyone doubts this, or has any questions about my experience, please feel free to pm me and I can call you or you can call me. I have no problem with that. Joe
