  1. I am 14 days post HT surgery and my dome is looking good and feeling good. Here is the recap. The final scabs finally fell out at day 11. It was at that same time that the numbness dissapated. I contacted Dr. Charles twice with a handful of questions and he got back to me ASAP and took the time to answer all of my questions. No rushing to get through the answers. The only problem I had was sleeping. The codeine was not enough. I sleep on my back and it was tough to get comfortable with the stitches causing discomfort resting against the pillow. I got a hair cut (just the back and sides) on day 11 and was able, for the first time, to go out publicaly w/out wearing a hat. My girlfriend came over on day 11 and had no idea anything was done. So far so good.
  2. I posted this same info, but noticed I put it under the Non-Surgical portion of the site. Here is my experiance with surgery. I wanted to share my experience with Dr. Charles and the hair transplantation surgery I had performed on June 24, 2003. I am 28 years old and was beginning to have hair loss over the sides of my temples. Nothing too bad, but it was enough to make me self-conscious. At my age and with the hair loss I had I certainly did not NEED to get it done right now, but the results I saw from my Dad who Dr. Charles worked on was enough to make me forgo my insecurities and nerves about the procedure and what it might be like. I was nervous about the procedure, Dr. Charles and the results. While results will obviously take months for me to see I cannot say enough about Dr. Charles, his staff and the procedure. For those looking into the procedure with Dr. Charles, or if you are looking for a good doctor to consult with, he is your man! Dr. Charles walked me though the process and spent as much time as I wanted to go over where the hair was going to go and answered every question I had. He was honest and upfront about the procedure and exactly what he told me prior to starting was followed through to a "T". He also has a great staff. The girls acted in a professional way and were constantly making sure I was OK and asked if I needed anything else to make the process more comfortable and enjoyable as surgery can be. Dr. Charles and his staff took care of everything. Making sure that lunch was ordered in time and that it was what I had wanted. Anytime I needed a break to stretch my legs, go to the bathroom, etc. they were accommodating. Dr. Charles gave the post surgery info and instructions to me and he again took the time to explain everything and made sure I knew that if I needed a question answered, even if it was at 3:00 AM that I was NOT to hesitate to call him. I will come back every few weeks/months to follow up on how the hair is coming in and to give updates. I know that without hearing the testimonial from my Dad (and others), I never would have went through with the surgery and while most don't have a family member to hear it from I thought it would be good to share my experience with others about Dr. Glenn Charles.
  3. I had the HT in Boca. I had just under 1,400 grafts done. As an aside...my Dad had his first HT done by Dr. Shapiro and his second with Dr. Charles. He thinks that Dr. Charles is the better of the two. Said both were great, but would go back to Dr. Charles before Dr. Shapiro. From what I have seen of his results, both doctors gave tremendous results.
