  1. It was over a year ago, but if IIRC, I believe Dr. Bernstein was referring to my particular hair type and loss pattern.
  2. I'm a 45 year old South Florida resident and have done relatively thorough research on getting a HT, and must admit that I'm a little gun shy. I'm a NW Class 5 or 5A (on my way to a NW 6) with very fine straggly, dirty blond-brownish hair. I mailed some photos to various doctors. Dr. Bernstein in NY told me that if I got a transplant, eventually, the area around my sides would continue to thin out, eventually leaving me with an island in the front where the transplanted hairs would be placed (and reading between the lines from our telephone consult, he wasn't too optimistic that a HT would look that good). That spooked me. I had a personal consult with Jeffrey Epstein (who I was very impressed with), and he advised that he would look forward to working with the fine hair. He recommended around a 2,000 - 2,500 FU the first time around, with a similar amount if I'd like to work on the crown area later on. Epstein advised that I probably had around 6,000 FU's total to work with. If I could be assured that the work would look good and non-detectable, I'd do it. I'm just concerned that with my hair type and progression of loss, that the results good be sub-par no matter how qualified the surgeon. Any thoughts or suggestions??

  4. You realize I have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever for your hair loss being a NW 5.5 myself.
  5. I was wondering if anyone out there knows of the upper limits of Epstein's megasessions.
  6. If you check his website Josh, the cost actually goes down per FU if you increase the number. From what I've heard, he's got a good rep, and is probably the best in SoFla. Good luck.
  7. Thank you for your concern. We appreciate all financial contributions you are willing to make to get everything up and running to your specifications.
  8. Looks great. How many FU's, what Norwood scale before transplant and who was your surgeon?
  9. Thanks JCW. Look forward to seeing your updated photos.
  10. I'm around a 6 on the Norwood scale with very fine, wavy hair. My donor area is in pretty good shape. Overall, my hair quality was always poor even when I was a kid. Any thoughts on whether a transplant would work well for me, and if so, the number of grafts and sessions that would be required. Thanks in advance

  12. It's been a while since Mr. Hair Dot has posted here. Any word?

  14. I've been told that I have very fine hair, although it has a substantial curl. Couple of questions - first, how does this affect the incision made in my scalp for the implaint, second - how does this affect the final outcome?
