I had about 400 tiny fue's put in my hairline. I see growth but it appears baby fine and almost transparent. Did any body notice a drastic change of one hair fu's at the 5 month mark ? I am hoping they get a lot thicker as my hairline is see-through.

Don't get mixed grafts. For every mixed graft you will probaly need 4 or 5 fus all around them to cover them up. I have had 2 touch up sessions costly me more money than if it was done right the first time. My mixed grafts aren't even getting lighter in the sun compared to the fu's. You can't wear your hair short with mixed grafts either. Read Dr. Beehener's website on how you will look grafty for about a year with coupled fu's.

I wish I had all fu. One fu per hole. In ignorance I had coupled fu's done. Basically a doctor got 1500+- from my strip; he doubled them up giving me only 800 grafts. They were cut and trimmed but can be seen very close up. Also like a plug they don't lighted up in the sun as compared to the other single fu's. They look like a tiny plug. They were done for density ? I had 1350 graft to camo them and they still can be seen. I don't believe any fu procedure can hide plugs or m/m. Did anyone have a good camo job on their m/m ? In hairmill theory this type of graft give better shingling but you can't wear your hair short. An ht looks most natural with hairs one mill apart. I had to get hairs all around the cuoupled fu's hoping to hide them. I am going to Dr. Jones again for fue to either remove them or hide them some more. I have had 1800 coupled fu grafts total for a nw 5. It would have been 3200 tru fu's if the Dr. did all fu. Couple fu's take more hair to give a natural look. Arfy was right. Finad a Dr. who puts on fu in one hole.

What norwood does the 3 finger rule make you ?

Try to stay with one scar. I have 2 scars from a lying, coniving Doctor. He said the hair will lay right. It doesn't. You will have a zebra look with 2 scars.

They say hair caliber is more important than number of grafts. My donor hair is considered a 9 on a scale of one to 10. Will I need half the grafts of someone say 4 on the donor scale ? I don't know if I believe this graft theory. My ht looked unnatural until grafts were as close to 1 millimeter apart as possible (much like nature). I already have 3,200 grafts in the front and midscalp. I will probaly need another 1k in that area to finish up when the time comes. This leaves a bald crown. Any feedback ?

Propecia lasted me a good 3-4 years; then a wave of shedding. I had my first ht a 31. Started propecia around 27. The propecia will help but not forever.

I might add that Dr. Gallagher uses some type of lighting blade to make recepient holes. I guess it is bigger than a latarel slit for coupled fu's. Anyway, this left dimples and scarring where-as a lateral slit did not.

I am willing to meet someone in the area to show them this shxx work. I am also scheduled to go back to another Doctor this week to have all the 2's and 3's which arn't even staggered, they are just in a straight line, removed from my hairline. This is the 3rd touch up repair procedure. I can't lower my hairline anymore to camo the 2's and 3's.

I have posted many pictures of his poor work. Other ht Doctor's thought his work was substandard also.

NW level before HT -- Confused.

Scalp laxity-Very tight.

I went to Dr. Gallagher's office and was greeted by Tom S. He had a terrible hairtransplant. I was assured that was a mini-micro, outdated procedure. Dr. Gallagher said I will be a six, maybe a 7, on the norwood scale by 40. I was quoted 800 grafts. I was told I was a NW 5. I had a full and thick crown and back. I did not think I was that bad for say 2500 grafts. When I asked why so little grafts Tom told me the other places lie to charge more money. The strip from the first HT was taken very high. I asked why. Dr. Gallagher claimed he thought I would not go that low (first lie as they said a possible 7.) The scar stretched causing ingrown hairs. The HT came in around 3-4 months. It looked extrememly grafty. When I asked why I was told to wait till the other gratfts grew around it. I was also told by Tom I would not need another HT for 10 years. I had shock that never returned. I looked grafty and could not understand why every one else could not where a hat after a couple of weeks. I had couple fu's (4 to 7 hairs). My hair is so thick that it stood out from the thinning hair. I told Tom my friends said it looked grafty. He said to find new friends. He said I would have been totally bald in that area so cut myself a break. I really needed a soft hairline. Dr Gallagher who I so naively trusted said get the front done, it most important. I did the front. The hair line 7 months later was most 2 and 3 fu right in the hairline. At this point I have been wearing a hat for 13 months. I went out once or twice without a hat. People would grab there hair and look at mine. I did not look natural. I had reddness and ridging for 8 months. I went to ask why and was told I would need a touch up. I was despearate for a normal, natural hairline. I could not get another strip due to laxity. I finally went to Dr. Jones who said the grafts looked doubled up. I had a 350 fu touch to hid the grafts. It did work. Again I had masssive shock from Dr. Gallagher. I then had 1000k fu from Dr. Jones to cover all the work. I may have to go back to have the 2's and 3's removed from my hairline if this does not camaflage them. I am currently 6 weeks post op from 1k fu with Jones. Thru fue we were able to retrieve tiny fu's for a hairline. I will know in 6 months if it turns out ok.

I might add that I have 2 scars from Dr. Gallagher. One high and one low. The lower one which was the second scar almost healed 1 mil. The first was high and did stretch.

I have a total of 3250 grafts. I don't know how many coupled fu there are. I was told 800 would last 10 years. I was told they would cut out the first scar for the second ht. We I got there I was told it could not be done. I was told not to worry about scars, you can get scar reduction. I was also manipulated with commnets such as you may be a seven. Look at your wet hair after a shower.

His website claims he was the Director of a large clinic. Bosley ?

I may still very confused.

I trusted this site and the Doctor.

I will say that the fue from Dr. Jones did not cause scarring and is starting to grow in nicely.

Be careful. I was lied to and butchered by a Dr. on this site. Some of them fool Pat too. There are plenty of Dr's. who get kicked off this site.

I beg to differ. 10% a month is the density of the grafts that sprout. Most hairs come in at 4-5 months. As I said and I may be wrong, but the caliber of each hair increases density monthly by 10%. At 10 months you may be at full density. Not too many hairs spring up after that.

I have a lot of coupled fu's in ignorance. I had shock in some area's that never returned. My hair looked ok in the area's of no shock loss where existing hair blended in with the coupled fu's; butI needed a 1k touch up for all areas where shock loss never returned. Coupled fu's can not stand alone. You must have hair as close as 1 millimeter as possible for a ht to look natural. I had coupled fu's spaced as far as a 1/4 inch apart with no hair in between. It looked like plugs. You will need extra fu's to conceal coupled fu's where as it would have been easier just to have them spaced right in the first place. Also my couple fu's compressed; where they were sticking almost straight up. I also have some small white (scar tissue) dimples. I believe it is from an ht surgeon using a larger that average slit to accompany a larger graft. I had lateral slits from Dr. Jones that left no scaring.

Still don't understand mini/micro compared to fu. Dd they trim m/m? Was it just the size of the m/m that made it look odd.? I had coupled fu's, that seems like a trimmed m/m. A lot of guys have had good density using m/m and fu together. Please elaborate.

Don't do mini/micro or their sidekick, coupled fu. They do not look natural.

He is covering an old plug transplant. A ht doctor showed me why. With plugs you must style it like that to cover the hairline. With plugs you can have density like that.

I am really glad you do what you do and say on this site.

My hair is thick. I am a dirty blond. My donor hair is almost pitch black and the top is light brown. I tried a face tanner and "sun in" on the area's. It did not help. Would dye help? Any rub in creams, etc.

I was a nwfive. Whole top was gone. Hair looks thick due to coupled fu's. I am quoted a nine for hair thickness on a 1 to 10 scale for density.
