  2. Just wanted to add my experience of 550 grafts to my frontal hairline performed in mid-feb. -Procedure was painless. Was in at 8 and out at 2. -I had no swelling, but did ice a lot (also had anti-inflamatory rx). -For first few days I wore a cap, and 1 week later felt comfortable w/o it. -Donor area stitches dissolved after 2 weeks, and that area is still a little tender (not a problem) -Mild redness has slowly faded; however, i still have some acne in the transplanted area occasionally. -Numbness is fading, and was never a problem. -I had minimal shock fallout -I can now see some tiny hairs coming in, but is hard to detect since transplant was in my existing hairline. -I have had some itiching over the past 2 weeks -No one (co-workers, roommates, girlfriends) has ever noticed anything! - Now i'm just waiting to see some growth by mid-summer Hope this helps. Curious if Midnite can respond w/ how he is progressing????? kp

  4. I understand the Denver Fox news (channel 13) is doing a story on Dr. H on Monday the 25th at 9 pm newscast (I think). One of their employees had the procedure done. I had ~550 units last wed. Will post my first few days post op experience soon.. but so far things are fine. ps hang in there midnite
  5. Midnite... how's the post op recovery process coming now... (swelling etc)?
  6. Curious if anyone out there can share their experience for < 1000 graft session. Most posts I have read our 1500+ grafts, and want to hear some experiences for less traumatic 500 - 1000 graft sessions [re shock fallout, swelling, recovery experience etc) thx
  7. FYI. I just bought proscar per Dr. Harris Rx (to chop into 4s) http://www.thecanadiandrugstore.com very cheap there
  8. Do you feel the propecia helped thicken your current hair? How long til you noticed any results? Did you notice it helping your frontal hairline? Talking w/ the Doc, he told me that the amt of hairloss you have in the future is not attributal to family history, and can never be know (understood that beforehand as well) Full head of hair today could be gone in x yrs... and only time will tell. Do you understand this to be different? Also curious if you checked any of his patient references (i plan to and doubt our ref. are the same people), and if any negative/ or "I wish he would have told me to expect this" type complaints were realized? I have seen several posts of patients expecting X after surgery (i.e. quick recovery, undetectable surgery etc), and getting Y results (redness for months, existing hair shock fallout etc). I was a little surprised of his comments to me re. undetectable surgey after a mere week!
  9. Please provide your comments on existing hair fallout after surgery. I keep seeing this mentioned and want to understand the consequenses. How bad and where did you lose your "existing" hair cus of shock fallout post surgery? If fallout of your exisitng hair, will you need to go back and graft those areas as well? With the loss of existing hair it seems like the grafts would be a never ending process. (obviusly i'm concerned about losing my existing hair, which I'm trying to thicken w/ grafts)

  11. Same post as the experiance forum.. but wanted a Dr's take. I recently met w/ Dr. Harris in Denver. Gave me a prescription for Proscar, and we talked about "if" I had surgery. There was no pressure from him, but warned this is a committment. Even though I'm 30 and still have a lot of hair, there is no way of knowing how much hair I would lose in 5, 20, 50 yrs. I'm a Norwood 2+. In summary this is what he said to expect post-op ---> in my case of 500 grafts, frontal hairline, to fill in my receding power alleys: I would have some minor swelling and asked that I keep ice packs minimum 15 mins per hour 1st 4 days. Some inital redness. After 7 days because of small # of grafts, I should look like no surgery has been done. Stitches will dissolve and donor area will be undetectable. Some of my existing hairs might have shock fall-out, but those are ones that would probably be gone soon anyway. Any comments on my consultation / past experience for this small # of grafts would be halpful. (My concern is undetectabilty post surgery) thanks

  13. Also I was expecting him to say my post-op normal appearance wouldn't occur for several weeks... and was pleasantly surprised only a week and you wouldn't be able to tell I had a surgery. He also mentioned Rogaine (don't see myself putting ointment in my hair 2x/day) could help along w/ the Proscar (1 mg/day). Here is his website if interested in a Denver Dr. http://www.unpluggedhair.com/

  16. Also once your frontal hairline transplanted hair begins to grow, does it look "out of place" as these new hairs obviously are not very long compared to the other hairs on your head? I would think so... and curious those who have gone through their recovery process how noticable/ how long this transition takes? thanks

  18. A question I have seen on several posts. My concerns having hair transplanted to my frontal hairline.... How Long after surgery does it take to look like you have not done anything???? I.e. I have roomates and a like most an active life style, a career, but do not want anyone to know I have had a FHT surgery. Does it take a week, two weeks?

  20. Besides surgery, what other successful treatments are available to treat frontal hair loss? Propecia? thanks

  22. Midnite, I assume Dr. Harris discussed the cost per graft w/ you. I "thought" I saw on his website he charges $7/graft? Is that correct? Just seems higher than what I have seen mentioned elsewhere on this site. thank you
  23. Has anyone had the FUT surgery performed by Dr. Harris who is recommended on this website? I was curious of your experience/ results? thanks
