  1. Dr Paul Shapiro, Female Patient, Ludwig Type I 1612 Grafts I am two and one half years post op and very pleased with my hair transplant results. Prior to surgery I was using dermatch daily to cover a thinning area of hair behind my hairline. My goal was not to have to use the dermatch any more. Dr. Shapiro was very thorough in his consult explaining how transplants for women are different then for men. He explained a goal of not seeing any scalp is unrealistic for most women and that most women will experience some shock loss. He also explained that it takes longer than one year for most women to see the full effect of their hair transplant. The hardest part of the whole process was waiting for the hair to grow in. At the one year mark I was still using dermatch. The results of the surgery were gradual and eventually I realized I was no longer concerned about thinning behind my hairline and no longer using dermatch. At about 18 months I stopped using dermatch and my hair stylist commented on how think my hair was looking. It is much easier for me to style my hair and I am very happy with the results. Here are some photos 2 years post operative. I had 1612 FU grafts placed behind the hiarline in the frontal area. HAPPY GAL
