  1. The scalp pigmentation tech should have NEVER lowered your hairline below your natural line. This is because pigment "cures" differently in scalp skin than it does on the facial (forehead) skin. The color will never match and you will end up with an off-color stripe around the front of your hairline. So many techs are more interested in their pocketbooks rather than the customer's own best long-term natural look. So they readily make rash decisions. You should have been advised of this. So you are correct in getting it lasered removed. As for the redness after 12 days, that is highly unusual. While HT scarring easily becomes irritated with scalp pigmentation, the redness should have dissipated within 3 days at the very most. The redness along the frontal hairline can also be because the tech "buried" the needle into the forehead skin that never should have been tattooed to start with. Yes, get to a doctor, as perhaps there may have been a sterilization issue.
  2. I suggest to not look for the cheapest. Check how long the company has been in business and the particular artist's experience. There are a lot of companies out there now, many of which have learned this on a several day on-line course. And be aware of cheap prices. $500 for an an entire scalp for one session for 2-3 sessions? Realistically, you will probably need 10 or more because of the constant fading in between sessions. Do the math. Consider your time for that many sessions; time off work, etc. Unless you have Alopecia or very extensive HT scarring, you do not need your whole head done. And certainly not with a Norwood 4. I would be happy to look at your photos to make an honest recommendation as to what you need and should expect. You can send to: info@markwestonhair.com
  3. Here are three examples of my patented System being used for FUE density repair. As mine is a one session only, permanent application, I am not routinely able to get photos after curing. These photos were taken immediately after my follicle replication application before shampooing and while the scalps still had some irritation. Color cures about 20% lighter, which will blend and match the client's natural hair color in about 2 weeks.
  4. Much of the problem in this industry is that so many companies are training. Many of these "artists" have taken an inexpensive on-line course and then just cut loose being promised riches. One must have some experience and knowledge of general tattooing or micropigmentation first. Not everyone can do this. I NEVER create a hairline that is unnatural; I only recreate the lost original and natural hairline that the client was born with. If they are older, I create the same original hairline but with a natural recede. Creating an entirely different hairline ends in eventual disaster. Most practitioners have not been in business long enough to see the long-term results of their early work. When pigment is placed into skin other than in the scalp skin(forehead, for instance), the pigment cures differently and the client ends up with an off-color stripe around the front of their head. I have been in this industry since early 2009 and have seen companies come and go and their blatant mistakes. My patented method is a one-session permanent application so there is no fading in a few months or years. I am very specific with my clients' hairlines and advise them accordingly. Many also use the wax surgical pencil to mark out hairlines. It is not possible to create a soft natural hairline while following the thick edge of this heavy line. That results in the cookie-cutter edge that is so common.
  5. The term "SMP" is a generic and widely-used term for the multi-session scalp pigmentation applications. I don't utilize that term for my patented system, therefore I can only advise you relating to the application and aftercare for my specific system only. Yes, you do have to stay out of the sun, but you don't have to be as stringent with my system as the pigment is placed deeper with smaller needles. But we all should be wearing head protection in the sun regardless of scalp pigmentation for health reasons. My system is a permanant and lifetime application. On occasion with scars, there may be a touchup in the donor area with some clients.
