  1. I'm wondering what people feel like is a good time point post-transplant to know how short you can cut your hair without seeing the scar? I'm about 8 weeks now post... I remember cutting it with a #6 at around 4 weeks and being able to see the scar line... Right now I use clippers with a #7 and can't see the scar unless I hold a mirror to the back of my head and look closely. I realize that at 4 weeks some of it was probably due to shock-loss... however I'm getting afraid to approach a #6 clipper now.

I see posts of people shaving down to a #4,#3,#2 clippers... but how long is that post transplant? If I could get it to #3 or #2 I would be pretty happy.

  3. Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has noticed a difference in the shedding of their grafts in areas where it was previously bald and areas where there is still hair but just thinning? I'm 5 weeks post op now and I feel like I still have some stubborn grafts still hanging around in areas where I have hair but its just thinning. In areas where there was essentially no hair or where grafts were placed to slightly lower my hairline, the grafts are all but gone. I feel like i'm back to how I look before I got the hair transplant (which is fine, cause I know it should only get better from here).

  5. I've noticed that most of the grafts in the area where the doctor slightly lowered my hairline aka where there used to be no hair have fallen out. Leaving a slightly weird look where I have 5 or 6 grafts surrounded by nothing.

I know this is bad, but i tend to feel around those sparse grafts between my finger tips and they come out easily if i give them a slight tug. However, there is no blood or anything. It's now 20 days post op... is that normal. I know everyone says that grafts are secure 10 days post-op and should be fine as long as there is no blood.

  6. The answer is YES if you are unhappy with how the state of your hair currently is. You have to realize that it is not going to get any better and it will only get worse. If you are not happy with how you looked with a shaved head then YES you should get a HT.

However, you should know that the best case scenario would be that you get a HT and take propecia and rogaine to stop further loss and it actually does stop further loss. Most likely scenario is that you can expect to get another HT as you continue to lose hair.
