  1. its kind of hard to tell from the pictures.

Obviously there is some growth there, but is it 3300 grafts worth? 8 months should put you at 80% re-growth density under the "classic" schedule.

at 8 months it depends on if your growth kicked in initially at 2-3 months or 5-6 months?

the hair style is a bit different in the before photo... Id say in the temple area you should have more growth, that looks on the light side, but thats in comparison to what appears to be natural hair their in the front.

Are you noticing more sprouts? myself ill be approaching 7 months later this month... i notice alot more sprouts. I had some uneven growth initially, but the other side seems to kicking in now with new sprouts..

  2. as far as i know the "FOX Test" is exclusive to NHI only.

They seem to have a trouble with some of their candidates for FUE/FOX procedure and have to do a "Dermal Depth Analysis", where as all other doctors dont have this problem.

I didnt know Dr Cooley performed FUE, but its good to know that more doctors are adding it as an available option to their customers.

I wouldnt worry about any FOX Tests, and Good Luck with your procedure. Let us know how it goes!

Also, grafts into the scar can defenitely break it up a bit, especially if its relatively thin. how wide/long is your scar?

Id say try 200 grafts then give it a few months, then try another 200 grafts 9 months from now.. give it time to grow in before trying another round.

Grafting into scars is a very slow growth process, and yield is rarely 100%.

  3. is your recepient area still pink/tender?

If it is, then i would avoid tanning. Even if its a little tender. my pinkness has faded competely/gone recently, but its still healing and a little tender. So i would avoid sun for a few more months if i was you.

also 6 months is hardly enough time to judge the final results. i would say a full year is needed for the hairs to mature and thicken up.

Id say wait a couple more months before tanning.

  4. 3/4 inch scar from 1100 grafts? That seems huge. very bad in this day and age to get a large scar from just 1100 grafts....

Was that your first procedure ever?

I would like to see the photos of it.

The easiest way to shrink the photo is to load it up into a paintshop program and resize it and save it as a .jpg

If you need a decent graphics editor,

you can download paintshop program at http://www.jasc.com/ and they offer a trial version for free.

  5. He looks like he posted an updated pic of early 2 month growth:

    http://www.itzan.com/hm-sit%20direction%20issue%20-%201.htm

I think it/he is the real deal. He's been working on it for a while now and he, the doctor himself occasionally posts on hairsite.

Though obviously not perfect and it may be impossible for perfection,

Beyond the hairline i think he's defenitely on to something really big... that a little hairspay or gel can fix icon_smile.gif

thousands of additional grafts from a few, for a baldie is a dream beyond dreams come true.

It'll be many years before its perfected much like transplants (though they are hardly perfect either), but none the less, its still very encouraging to see a photo of cloned/multiplied hairs growing.

  6. hey check out this bosley work by Lee Bosley himself:

    Nice, ey?

    Thats not a Hair Transplant

thats Assault with a Weapon, and Lee Bosley deserves life in prison or the electric chair for crimes against humanity for that kind of barbaric medical procedure. Instead he's made millions and living a life of luxury.

In my opinion, He's a criminal and is running a criminal enterprise.

  7. defenitely sounds exciting, thats for sure. I agree with Dart.

It sounds like he is doing a form of Gho's HM where by he cultures/divides hair cells in a lab for 60 days, then re-injects them into the scalp.

Dr Gho says his main problem is consistency.

certainly sounds feasible to do, and i would pay the money to do it. If its real icon_smile.gif

the only thing im not sure about is how the cell's know which direction is which and at what angle it grows... Plus i worry about things like it causing cancer/tumors ??

I suspect the first few years of HM will be like HT of 30 years ago. And it will take a few years to smooth out.

none the less if what he is doing is real, and commercially available and it sounds like it will be, it will also ignite a fire under other companies out there who are developing the technique to get aggressive about it.

  8. hey is it me, or does your head even look a little orange?

maybe its just my eyes, but i see some orangish tint of something there... ??

even if you do have 'some' pitting, i doubt seriously anyone can see that close up to notice it.

i suspect other then the obvious barbie doll transplants of years ago.

99.9% in the general public other then balding guys who have had transplants really look at our heads that close up to see if they can tell its a transplant or not.

  9. you have to be high on crack to go to them after reading all of the horror stories on the internet from their clinics. especially to a doctor who was just trained??? If he Eff's up your head you will regret it today, tommorow and for the next 50 years.

Remember a Hair Transplant is with you For Life.

A Bad strip scar is almost impossible to repair.

Its not a car you can trade in later. And everyone you know and dont know will see it.

If you are in Michigan, i think Dr Shapiro is not toooo far away.

Do yourself a favor and go to a top clinic Only.

  10. I think Dr Feller is a decent choice in the NYC area. defenitely a better choice then Bosley in my opinion and i am not his patient.

Some guys is bashing him talking about him on another website about his office space, and his own transplant.

I thought his office was fine, and i thought his transplant was pretty good. I didnt realize it was a transplant until he told me it was, and i am pretty sure his doctor who did it was Dr Seager. i tend to think doctors who have hair loss problems and have had transplants themselves are very good choices.

he has happy patients on the forums, and in the end thats the only thing that matters. if there are happy patients with few if any complaints then they are likely a good choice.

the only negative comment i have is he is quite slow at responding to online inquiries. I remember i submitted an online consultation form/inquiry and it took like 4 months to respond at least. So its best to call if you want to go in for a consultation icon_smile.gif

  11. Mahair, im not a doctor but if your head feels very tight now from your mhr transplant, 7 months post op, getting another strip transplant probably wont make it any "looser".

You may want to wait a few more months for the tightness to subside, or consider doing FUE type of transplants only. (non strip)

Either way i would recommend you wait a few more months and research your options carefully. Get several opinions and take your time. Dr Shapiro is a great doctor, but remember none of these doctors wave a magic wand and presto you are done when they do transplants and certainly cant garauntee your scalp will be looser next time around.

I'd say for most guys, the safe zone is about 4-6,000 grafts. Some guys get more, some can only do less.

But roughly speaking id say 4-5000 grafts is probably near the average for "most" guys.

If you scroll through the photo albumn here at hairtransplant network very few guys are beyond 5-6000 graft range.

If you've been chopped up already by a lousy doctor, then chances are you will be on the low end of that number & every graft will count.
