  1. Its obviously pluggy, and the doctor did a poor job.

You've got alot more hair then me though, and probably most of us on here and I would just suggest comb it a little forward until you have it corrected.

No need to wear a hat for 14 months as far as im concerned.

  2. thats alotta grafts.

in 2 weeks DHI have attempted to pass what jotronic did in 18 months as the record holder as far as i know.. by around 1800 grafts i believe.

personally i am a big fue advocate but I think he should have been much more cautious. Im not that big of a gambler having been burned in the past.

this will certainly make or break DHI at this point as far as credibility goes. They've certainly put their credibility on the line with this procedure.

Remember world record attempts only garauntee alot marketing and publicity for the clinic, they dont necessarily garauntee anything else.

I hope Lee gets a great result icon_smile.gif

If he does, then DHI is tops.

  3. Why me, just stick with it. especially if its working. There are no garauntees in any medication, thats why it says "May"

if hair treatments grew back hair like our regular hair garaunteed, then none of us would be on the transplant forum.

best thing to do is stick with the med's for a while. Worst thing to do is quit if it appears to be working.

  4. here's a more recent picture of david lee roth:

personally, i think he looks fine.. yeah his hairline has receded, but for a guy who is 47 years old in the photo above and 49 now, i think he looks pretty young & fine in the photo.

andre aggassi has also gotten plenty of beautiful women. probably due to his fame and fortune then his lack of hair icon_smile.gif

  5. I must say thats alot of ground to cover, with a limited donor supply.

Personally i dont know, i made my reservations known before in the other thread.

Its a 'big gamble' to do everything in one shot.

your basically could be rolling the dice with your appearance for the rest of your life.

if it turns out well, then great, if not the patient is basically stuck having used up his entire donor supply, maybe even used body hair donor supply in one sitting.

Since the doctor/clinic have never done this before its an even greater risk. They are hardly the most experienced hands for FUE & as far as I am aware they dont have any before and after photos.

My personally philosophy for all patients should be to minimize risk for maximum reward.. Be it procedures, which doctor/clinic you go to or whatever.

There is also the trauma the head & body has to go through of 17,000 incisions. Those of you who had mega sessions with strip, think of it as 4-5 times what you went through in a week or so sitting.

Of course we only hope for the best for the guy, but the chances and risks taken are of the extreme magnitude in my opinion.

  6. Personally, I am a big proponent of FUE as everyone may or may not know. I also try to be fair minded as best i can. i think this is a mistake and very high risk procedure to do in my opinion.

Of course i hope this procedure is successful, and Lee has a great result. He's a great participant on the forums, and I am only questioning this higher risk, very aggressive procedure.

In my opinion, i think thats very Risky to do all at once. 8000 pokes to the body in one way or another.. Actually its 16,000 pokes and incisions to the head and body total since there is 8000 placements, so it is 13,000 to the head, and 3000 to the body.

If you add in transection it will be close to or even more then 17,000 incisisions to the head and body over a few days?, or even weeks time? is an extreme measure i believe. Is that safe?

In my opinion he's basically a guinea pig, since they've never performed this type of large procedure before as far as im aware. If you never performed a large world record, and you've only been doing a technique for a few months, by defenition you are a "big experiment", that You pay for with money. Can DHI please give us some medical science and data to back up 16,000-17,000 incisisons to the head & body in a relatively short period of time as even Safe to do ?

i believe thats alot of trauma to the head and body to sustain.

Also DHI does not have one FUE before and after photo that i've seen. If they do they are few and far between at best. I havent seen any. They've only been at FUE for a few months since last summer.

Has anyone seen a before and after from DHI for FUE? they've only been at it for what 6 months? & learned from Dr Jones?

The final result that is & the patient himself will have used up his entire head and probably entire body hair donor supply/no chance for repair or anything if the surgery goes wrong or whatever/yield is low, who knows...? if its perfect then great.

I would consider DHI for fue, but never such huge risks & gambles from a clinic that is basically inexperienced with FUE at this point.

i hope everyone realizes these forums and surgeries arent games and the goal is not to one up your other participants on serious medical surgeries. the goal is not to set world records, or see how many you can do per day in mega sessions strips or fue.

You dont get anything better out of that by setting records, the clinic does for marketting and publicity purposes. The Bigger the record is the more money you pay, and the more money the clinic makes from publicity. You dont necessarily get a better result at all.

Your only goal should be you get quality care and quality results, with minimal problems, be it take 1 day or 10 years to do.

there is so much B.S in the forums at times, that it can cloud some judgement i guess. I wish him the best, but he's taking some incredible chances i think.

If you read my previous posts, you'll see i said the free surgeries from DHI was a great idea, and i applauded them for that, but this type of aggressive surgery i believe is a very bad idea.

  7. Hair transplants in many cases are Not necessarily 100% Permanent. Even on proscar.

There are cases of several guys even from 'top' clinics where transplants later fell out. Myself i had plugs 14 years ago, and they thinned out also.

If your losing hair, esp. young guys, many guys are also thinning out/losing hair in the donor area.

So there is quite a possibility your losing density of transplants in the recepient area as well.

  8. Yes, there are some guys who have shaved their head after HT, for whatever reason.

once shaved, some dont care about the scar, and some it bothers them greatly. Like ive seen one guy at a dunkin donuts recently, with a strip scar on the back of their head. (they shaved their head). I noticed it, but then again us baldies often have their "hairdar" on and notice these things icon_smile.gif So he didnt care how it looks, but others it upsets them.

it really depends on how long/wide the scar is, to tell if its noticeable or not.

You can have it filled in now adays with FUE, but even then you wont be able to shave it without a line show, and buzz cut it at best.

here is a guy on the board who is going to have his scar filled in with FUE/non strip grafts:

You should contact "Whoops" if you are interested in having your scar filled in like he is.

  9. i agree with mahairbegoin. I had a transplant at 18, in 1989, a little over 14 years ago, and it was the worst mistake of my life.

i'd say the amount of guys who had transplants under 25 and happy with their decision is about 1 in 10,000,000 10 years later if that.

My best advice, just buzz your head. young guys with buzzed heads is very common and "in" now adays

If your losing more and more hair why me, or the other young guys, starting at 18, you should focus on med's first for a few years. it sounds like from your description, your loss is very unstable/rapid. it sucks i went through it as best i could.

Playing the game of keeping up with your hairloss at 18/now 21 with transplants, is a game you will lose.

The doctor who operated on you, to fill in your temples at 20 or 21, should have his license revoked and thrown in prison for 5 years.
