  1. So I'm about to turn 19. I've always had fine hair and a high hairline, so losing my hair at a young age as my father did in his early twenties scared me. As soon as I realized my hair was thinning, I decided to get on propecia about 1mg to 1.25mg a day (since i'm doing the whole cut the 5mg tabs into 1/4s). Now I just found out that propecia has a 5 year effectiveness span, and I'm starting to think that I really screwed myself over. Since, that means by the time i'll be 23, I'll start to rapidly lose my hair. What do you guys think I should do. I still have hair, it's mainly receeding a little around the temples, and I took the propecia in order to 'hold the hair', if that makes any sense. Is there anyway, I can get off propecia without causing anymore hair loss, and then start using it later in my life, when my hair loss is much more present. Can I start using rogaine instead? I need some advice...ughh, help me! thanks, Nestito.

  3. Hello, I'm at the age of seventeen right now and have always had a hairline since birth, the fact that I have a five-head also doesn't help but give the image that I have a high hairline. Not to mention my hair is thin, and always has been. My dad is bald and so is his brother, but my dad's father isn't. My mother's dad just recently started losing his hair in his late 60's. I don't think I've really began to lose any hair just yet, but my question is whether I should start using products like Rogaine and Propecia to keep my hair at this level just in case I got the MPB gene? I'm at about a 1 to a 1.5 on the norwood scale.
