  1. http://www.advecia.com/ Just curious if anyone has heard anything about this product. I am already using propecia but heard about this product also. What about Fabao? Also, what is the 1/4 medication some people talk about on here? Is it the same thing as propecia? And do I just get my dermatologist to write me an rx for that instead of propecia?? thx. ryan [This message was edited by Ryan NYC on May 22, 2003 at 10:44 PM.]

  3. Yeah.. I am under no influence to go under the knife anytime soon. I am just hoping the propecia works and keeps on working for a long time. I just hope it keeps on working... Ryan
  4. Hello All. I am 21... and noticed that I started to loose more and more hair at about 18 (just hair in the shower etc). At around 20 I started to notice that my hairline in the temples were receeding, and a little bit on the top of my head. I immediately went to my dermatoligist, and she put me on propecia and suggested I combine it with Minoxidil. I've been using propecia for about 5 months now, and the minoxidil for about 2 1/2. She told me that the minoxidil would instruct me to use it only on the crown, but it would not hurt to use it on the temporal areas. Within the past few weeks..... I am actually starting to see small amounts of (what appears to be) regrowth in the temporal area. There are a few hairs here and there that have started to come in. I have noticed that I do not appear to be loosing any more hair. So I guess this is a much better alternative to getting a piece of my scalp cut out... at least at this point in the game. I am hoping that once I get enough regrowth (im not expecting anything spectacular, but it appears to be working amazingly!) the propecial will keep it there. Has anyone else had experiences similar to this? What was the outcome long term? I guess I am fortunate to got on the propecia so soon... I am hoping that the hair i have lost can be regrown since it hasnt been gone all that long. Thanks all, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!! Ryan

  6. Hey Guys... I am 21 years old... and I've been receeding since I was about 18.. and its to the point now where it is really noticable. I woulnd't say my hairloss is extreme.. but you can definitely tell that my hairline is receeding. My biggest question is... are my hopes un realistic of acheiving a look where I do not look like my hairline is receeding. Im only 21 years old... so this is really important to me. Would a hair transplant be worth my while? I realize that a hair transplant would give much more immediate results (a large factor for me) and I would need to remain on propecia. Will a doctor even be willing to do the operation on someone so young?? I understand that it could have some complications later on, but thats a risk i'd be willing to take. Any opinions out there??? 8. Hey all... I have just started to notice that I am loosing my hair.. my front hairline is starting to receed to the point where I really notice it. My dermatologist recommended propecia... but I really dont think its re-growing any of the hair I have already lost. Would a hair transplant take care of the receeding hairline look?? Also, how much does this kind of thing cost for somone who just has a small amount of hairloss? My bigger question is... if I have this done... will I need to remain on propecia after the fact? I'm sure in NYC there are lots of good doctors, but I would really want someone to recommend me to someone who wont mess up my head!! LOL!! Thanks everyone.
