  1. I have to order my Proscar from CA with prescrip from HW. It's running about $70 and splitting the pills into 1/4s. Since you don't split the Avodart, how much more expensive is that? Also my dad was just recently diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, anyone know if taking Proscar/Avodart could help me avoid the same thing since I'm now at high risk for it? (I'm 29 now)
  2. Glad to update my blog with my 12 month results! Thanks again everyone..great community and hope to help anyone with their quest...

  4. Like others have said, once you let it out of the Vault, the vault doors can never be closed again.. My personal opinion, keep it secret and do your best to hide it. Once the scar is hidden and your new hair starts to grow they will just be jealous of all your hair! -Trimox
  5. Thanks for the info.. Any reason you are using 2% minoxidil instead of 5%? Also make sure you are eating lots of protein which makes hairs stronger (peanut butter sandwiches are good source). Have you tried taking MSM to help speed up hair growth? Looking forward to hearing how your 6 month results go! Stick with it!
  6. I just recently restarted using rogaine again along with my proscar so I hope I can help.. Since most of us work and rogaine solution (not foam) is noticeable in the hair. I put in 1ml after work at 430pm and then again about 1hr before I go to bed (9ish). This way when I wake up and wash my hair it looks great and the scalp gets a rest during the day..Don't worry about it getting on your pillow etc, just try and keep your head elevated.. The white residue is just leftover junk from the solution. Be sure to wash the hair and scalp thoroughly the next morning to avoid a dry scalp/dandruff.. I recommend trying this route and see what ya think..I did this routine for 3+ years previously and had great results..
  7. NW5a, Jotronic could probably give the # of hairs/size question an answer. I was kinda out of it the night I left the surgery room heh. thanatopsis_awry, I find the density to be great up until the mid-section of my scalp (where they stopped placing). After that the proscar is at work and it is quite a bit thinner then the front section. Bill, well I kinda feel more comfortable with the hair brushed forward. Since taking the photos I've spoken with a good friend that works at a salon and she showed me how to make the look really stand out using paste (applying paste has its own art to it!). She said it looks stylish and controlled messy. I'll take photos asap.. Yogi's Dad, god willing I'll get back to Vancouver (H&W HQ) for some snowboarding, partying (god I really wanted to last time) and get official video/pics done, i kinda suck at photos still
  8. Just wanted to update everyone with my 9 month update on my web blog (link at bottom of this post) I posted two 9 month updates, one with a styling paste and the other with no styling products and all hair combed forward. As everyone says, the difference from month to month each time photos are taken is cool. The hair really is maturing with new ones still popping up. You can tell they are new due to them being kinky and not quite straight heh. Thanks everyone once again for your support! Also, thanks again Jotronic! You have been a great resource and helpful throughout! da MoX

  10. thanks guys! I agree that after the 18 months mark, we can evaluate my situation and plan the future out. Maybe a new treatment might pop up within 5 years! Dr Hasson better not retire any time soon though just incase
  11. I updated my blog with my month 8 pics. in my month 8 blog entry, I talk about how things are going and my thoughts for a possible 2nd HT.. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their support and comments!

  13. lol, glad I asked. I'd hate to walk into work looking goofier then normal agreed bout trying different styles, it's all about finding the right angle and products to volumize..us Real Hair Club members just have to remember that we can't pull off everything heh..yet (cough "cloning" /cough)
  14. Welp at 6 months today I got bored tonight and wanted to have some old fashioned fun. Took a shower and decided to attempt a Johnny Cash (Joaquin Phoenix) up-doo ...I did not use any gel since it's night time and I was just goofing around..Don't think I'm ready for this one hehe What do you think of the style: Yah or Nay? I'm waiting till the end of May (around month 7) to get another cut so to give the recovering Propecia saved hairs time to grow stronger..I'd like to try something textured and messy like if I can.. Other then some slight tightness still, I couldn't be more pleased and am thinking about going back to Dr. Hasson and team in a year or two to fill in the mid section and crown if it requires it. (Praying Propecia fixes it)
  15. Just wanted to post my 5 month update..more info is available in my hair blog ...Looking forward to month 6 7 8 etc! Only thing in my hair is gel in the front/mid section..today was my first hair cut
  16. I'd say right around day 92. That was the first time I got comments from somebody at work. I actually got comments from two different people that day about how thick my hair was getting.. Looking forward to the journey over the next few months.. I believe the Proscar is helping with my existing hair. I've noticed a HUGE difference in the quality/strength of my existing hair on top/crown and sides/back. As you know I let my hair grow out 2-3 months before surgery from a 5-6 year head shave style. The pics from Pre-HT on my existing hair and now 3+ months on proscar really show a huge difference. Wish I had started sooner Thanks again!
  17. Just posted my Post Op Day 106 update on my weblog.. Pre-HT Day 106
  18. I was actually in a chair at H&W getting my grafts placed when this aired on tv the first time. Made me feel even more assured of my decision great stuff from H&W!
  19. Thanks Bill and Eman, I've only had one coworker ask me about the scar, the funny thing is she didn't even notice my new hairline cause she thought maybe I had a tumor or something removed after seeing the scar heh.. Today I'm really starting to notice the shedding. But I gotta say, it was a fun sneak preview! Eman keep us posted on when you do the HT!
  20. Welp, like I said I'd post on my return to work day. My web log is updated. I went to work today looking like I did on Day 19, however if you read the blog for Day 20 (today), I came home after work and shaved it down to a #1 clipper setting ala Bill. I think it looks great from all angles, now if I could just hide the scar
  21. Topher, take a look at my weblog. I'm one year older then you but I had NO hairline and difuse in the mid/crown area. I take proscar and just underwent an HT. I'd agree with the others on this board and get on proscar immediatelty to stablize your loss. I was at your stage when I was 20, and waited 7 years before undergoing an HT. When you get to my stage its necessary
  22. Thanks Bill, was talking with Jotronic earlier and everything appears good I've been very careful about the grafts like everyone said to be. I cut my nails down as far as I could so I wouldn't be tempted to pick scabs heh
  23. Been updating the weblog. Need to get some more batteries after they died today. You guys think everything is healing up OK from the pics? <doing my best with the cleaning>. I'm noticing a lot of peeling and shedding already at day 7. Is my body in overdrive healing or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance , entering the doldrums a bit early I guess heh. My weblog link: http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=397
  24. Very excited! The # of grafts was determined by Dr. Hasson to create a new hairline and mid-section. I may or may not have to have another HT for the crown in the future <just started proscar to hopefully halt/regrow>. I wanted to leave enough in the donor area for "just incase". I took off a total of 20 days post-op. I'll post my return to work pics in a couple weeks so you'll know what others see on my return. I haven't told anyone so we'll see if anyone says anything
  25. Thanks guys. I also wanted to say that this website and forum are the reason I felt comfortable enough to do a HT. It's a godsend for the hair challenged heh. Keep up the great work!
