  1. To be fair the one surgeon on the continent that I consulted with was probably up there with the worst consultation experiences I had, and he was meant to be one do the best!
  2. How much did he quote you and for how many grafts?
  3. Going through my notes from my last consultations back in late 2022 ready for these ones also reminded me I was disappointed in how conservative his approach was. He quoted a maximum of 2000 grafts back in my pre-medication stage in my original post in the red shirt, which was nearly half what I was quoted elsewhere and definitely wouldn’t have left me with much density and a too conservative hairline for early 30s, maybe if I was 10 years older.
  4. I had a telephone consultation for Mittal and got completely put off by the salesman, his patter was straight out of an East End pub. Loads of nonsense “how often do you drink”, “I don’t”, “not good enough, we need to pump those numbers up!”, “what about cigs?”, “I quit last year”, “why on earth would you do that, my Dr said I’d die from shock if I quit smoking - I’m on a 20/20/10 diet, 10 coffees a day, 20 beers a day and 20 fags a day”. Then he started going on about how his mates say he’s like Ricky Gervais and started to practice his comedy routine on me. It was truly a bizzare experience, I felt like I was on some sort of prank call show. I’m off to Harley Street tomorrow for consultations with Wimpole and HSHC. I’m unlikely to go with HSHC as I can’t find anything about their surgeon Dr Vida. Dr Dayah from Wimpole looks promising though! I had a telephone call with Dr Moussa and he seemed very professional if a bit conservative with with number of grafts, his experience as a neurosurgeon was reassuring though.
  5. Don’t suppose you have any pictures of how it ended up looking as I’m considering Dr Moussa?
  6. Thanks, I’ll definitely look into them and give Maitland a second chance. I have seen some good work on reddit and a bit on here from Dr Dayah and am currently leaning towards him.
  7. Thanks, maybe I’ll give them another chance. I definitely wouldn’t give Dr Bisagna another chance though, very put off by my experience. It was in London at a hotel but I was prepared to travel to Belgium. I would consider western Europe as I regularly drive around Europe so would be a good excuse for a week away. Thanks for your help! My main concern with the medication is that it’s doing wonders for my midsection and crown but the hairline hasn’t had any improvement just more thicker hairs where there were already some hairs, I’m basically looking to just restore my hairline to an appropriate level for someone in their early 30s and then fill in the gaps between that and the midsection.
  8. I’ve emailed and booked a consultation with Mittal. When I was looking into transplants in 2022 I contacted Dr Farjo and the team never answered my email or my follow up emails so I’m hesitant to give them my business. I found Maitland to be very dismissive and didn’t seem to want anything to do with me regardless of the fact I live less than 30mins from the clinic so on paper they would be ideal. Dr Bisagna’s team really put me off by how impolite and unprofessional his secretary was including accusing me of not filling out the forms or having paid a deposit the night before my appointment despite the fact I’d done it all weeks beforehand. I was also concerned with how they cut some of my hair at the consultation in a visible place when none of the other Dr’s had done so, they also left me walking around central London with marker pen all over my forehead as they didn’t bother cleaning it up after demonstrating. I also felt a bit out of place as all of the people waiting for consultations were crammed into a hotel lobby and I was the only one with non-afro hair so I’m not sure if I’m outside of his specialism. Dr Reddy was great though other than not having a secretary or anyone working in the clinic so myself and another person arrived for our consultation and had to wait around at a locked door for him to arrive from outside without anyone checking us in or telling us where to wait.
  9. Hi All, I went and had some consultations back in November 2022 and decided as I hadn’t started medication to wait. Pics are then and now, I had a lot of improvement on meds so glad I waited. I think it’s time to go forward with the surgery, looking for recommendations on which UK surgeons to have consultations with as I’m not sure how thoroughly I researched back then and any new developments. I was on 1mg finasteride oral however I dropped to 0.5mg due to side effects and for the last 9 months I’ve been taking 2.5mg minoxidil oral as I wasn’t using the topical frequently enough and was concerned about my cats being harmed by it. I saw Maitland Clinic, Dr Raghu Reddy, Surgery Group UK, Harley Street Hair Clinic, Wimpole Clinic and Dr Bisagna. I didn’t like the vibe I got from Maitland or Dr Bisagna. I’ve heard mixed reviews on Surgery Group UK. I can’t find any info about Harley Street Clinic. I’m leaning on Reddy or Wimpole however I’m not sure if Reddy will be in my price range. Would love some opinions and advice as I’m a bit overwhelmed.
