  1. I mean, why do people feel it's okay to make fun of a man loosing his hair and it's not okay to make fun of a woman whose lost a breast to breast cancer? I'm tired of the snickers and the stares. My heart goes out to this guy to: http://www.baldingbrotherhood....hen-its-real_31.html I hope that the bald guy they got to wear a toupee and have it blown off got paid a lot of money from Wendy's for humiliating himself and all of us suffering from hair loss. I hate that commercial.
  2. Oh, bull, hairmax. It's so stupid when people say their not doing something they are doing. Clearly, you are advertising. That wannabe Bosley/Men's Hair Club site is just a bunch of bull. McHale had to have had a very good transplant. It's not a rug - you can see the hairs and it isn't too dense (something that cannot be said for the models on the site you link to). Also, why would he still have a bald spot if he uses a rug? No rug looks that natural on the hairline. You're obviously just trying to sell those crappy pieces.
  3. Superfantastic just posted another story about Joel McHale and a possible transplant. I think they're right - he obviously had one. I think it looks really good. Any idea on who his surgeon might have been? http://superfantasticplastic.blogspot.com/2008/08/does-...-have-advancing.html Oh, and they are also saying something about Hayden Christensen. Did he have a transplant?
  4. Okay, well, the primary question I think this raises is, what are advertisers saying about balding by altering Jude's hairline. I agree that it's really kinda cool of him to go out and show people that it happens and he's not too worried about it, but the advertisers must have thought his hair loss was unacceptable. There are tons of women (and even some men) that think he's fine just the way he is, so why didn't they just show the reality. I'm not condemning them here, I just think it's an interesting question.
  5. Uhmmm... I'm sorry, I think I've lost the point. Yes, celebrities suffer from hair loss too. The reason I posted the links to the Jude Law pics is not because he's balding, but because the advertisers both felt the need to disguise his hair loss and I think he'd be an excellent candidate for a HT.
  6. Pale_Rider, You do know that in the picture from "Titanic", he's wearing a toupee, right? He actually has used them for the past two decades. He's been balding since he was past-up for the male lead in "Dirty Dancing" (he apparently can't dance). lol
  7. Just read a few articles on Jude Law's Dior Homme Sport and Dunhill ads and how they either airbrushed his hairline, or used concealers - maybe both. http://superfantasticplastic.blogspot.com/2008/07/it-ma...de-law-to-visit.html http://pinkisthenewblog.com/home/law-special-order/ What do you think, guys? Is it time for Jude to visit an HT doc, like Super-Fantastic Plastic suggests? I think he has a lot of hair left and with his wavy, thick hair he'd have awesome results.

  9. Thanks, Bill! That helps a lot. I had no idea that was why wavy hair makes a transplant look better!
  10. I've noticed from some of the photos of befores and afters, that the best results usually come from guys with curly or wavy hair and each hair shaft seems to be pretty coarse. Although I have a great deal of donor hair, my hair is pretty straight - it only gets a little wavy when it grows fairly long and the hair shafts themselves are about medium in terms of coarseness. How would this affect a hair transplant?

  12. I was browsing the Internet and stumbled upon (liteally, using Stumble Upon) a neat site and and interesting article about fat stem cells and how they mimic fetal stem cells. The article also mentions the use of stem cells for hair transplants (also mentions this forum!) http://superfantasticplastic.blogspot.com/2008/07/is-fa...plastic-surgery.html Really like the site too - kind of a mixture of gossip column and cosmetic surgery info. site. They also have an article about an article in a men's magazine being wrong and mention this site: http://superfantasticplastic.blogspot.com/2008/07/mens-...ports-incorrect.html
