  1. Second month update (9 weeks exactly): Visually not much have changed, all transplanted hair shafts felt and I can see some of grafts that already started to grow. What have really changed is the feel when I touch my scalp on the hair line - it does feel much more dense. Probably it is due those transplanted grafts that are growing but as well caused by fin + minox that are kicking in. I mentioned about fin and min - since last update I upped a dose of finasteride to ~0.8mg every other day and added 2.5mg of oral minoxidil each day. No sides what so ever, only thing I noticed is that my eyebrows hair seems thicker/darker.
  2. Yeah, pretty much 4 days after I believe anu operation marks was unnoticeable when I brushed my hair on front. But here it comes as well results after 4 weeks after operation with first haircut (just a fade on sides/donor area). Most of transplanted hairs already felt of as planned, I can still see channels or pores from where hairs shaft were so I think its a good sign. Grafts that remain on their place adds bit of density and I don't feel anymore the urge to use hair fibres daily, its a really nice feeling 😄 I am really happy how it went out. On sides there are no blank spots, everything looks even for me. Back of my hair has a bit of pimples, before haircut I could feel them with my fingers but I didn't thought they will have such colour lol. Anyway Im sure that pimples go away during next weeks
  3. I'm coming back with an updates. I am just 1 day post operation at Kozamet with dr Harun Samiloglu and all went really smooth. I have arrived on 21st of January in Istanbul, next day had a meeting with Ozdemir (Consultant that I had contact through WhatsApp) where he explained me all the details about operation. On 23rd at 8am when I've met dr Harun with his crew (two technicians/nurses) and we started the operation. Everything was done with any complications - dr Harun draw my future hairline, discussed it with me, asked about opinion nurses and Ozdemir (he was present during whole procedure), then one of the nurses washed my head, then dr Harun started extracting my grafts which took about 5-6 hours. When extraction was done we had a meal and after that dr. Harun did all incisions. When he was doing the cuts, he was saying from time to time something in Turkish and nurses were replying to him - I believe that they were counting amount of incisions. When all cuts were done nurses came, talked with dr Harun and started implanting my grafts, which took next 4-5 hours. Dr Harun was in the operation room till the end. When implanting was done, nurses cleaned my head and put bandage, got some meds and I went back to my hotel. Whole operation took about 10 hours. Some technical details - 1815 grafts were extracted, about 400 singles (all used to make first three rows of front line), 1400 multiples. Tool diameter used for extraction was 0.8 Here I have some pics from operation: Here some pics on 1 day post operation Donor area on day 1 Im really happy how it came out. Donor area looks good and (I think) will look better when I do proper wash, right now I have still some residues from operation. I really like hairline drawn by dr Harun - its quite dense, got irregularities and I just think it will give me natural look.
  4. Thank you all guys for comments with your advices. Last week and a half I was busy and had no time to reply. I considered all pros and cons and I am staying with my decision to go for a transplant. What is most important, I choose dr Harun Samiloglu / Kozamet clinic to go for operation in late January. I talked with dr Resul Yaman clinic as well, they had free spot on the same time but going for dr Harun for a completely unshaven FUE was more appealing to me since I will not need to take many days off my work. With dr Harun im setup for 1900 grafts. I saw "1 days day after" photos of his patients and I really liked how widely spread were harvested grafts from donor. It's important for me because Im bit afraid of over harvesting thing that happened to some people from the forum. 1900 grafts I consider it as safe and conservative amount that (in worst scenario) will not create a disaster on my head. I have started taking finasteride again, currently about 0.5mg every other day and continue with minoxidil 5% once a day. No sides for now. Im aware that getting HT in my age might be a gamble but as I said I want to take that risk. I know that finasteride will help me to maintain my hair, maybe even regrowth, but I see really low chances for that to continue just with meds. For me it will be bigger disappointment to wake up as 30yo with sides from Fin than have bad results from transplant with 1900 grafts.
  5. Yeah, my biggest fear in getting hair transplant is being over harvested. I hope that if I sign for “only” 1800 grafts it will be much less possible that I get extracted much more. Nonetheless, even if it happens, I see a second chance in getting SMP. Hopping back on fin and minoxidil ASAP is a thing to do. I found on YouTube channel called “Hair Transplant in India” that gave me new hope and idea how to use finasteride in smarter way (microdosing, cycles). Because of my age I’am aware that I might another transplant in future. I guess it’s almost always a gamble to do such operation in twenties but I see that I lost much of confidence and opportunities to party or just meeting new people because I was to worried how my hair looks like. I really don’t want to miss more of that in 20s so that’s big motivation for me to do it. As well I’m adding photo of my temples when I was 21 years old. I think my hairline receded a bit but considering that since then I was off any drug I think it’s not so bad.
  6. Hello everyone, it's my first post here but I was searching this forum rather extensively last two weeks (and much longer I was on some Reddits regarding hair loss). Im decide that I want to undergo hair transplant in next month and so this thread is my journal where I will be posting updates about my me and my hair My background I am 25yo male and I started noticing hair loss on my scalp (Norwood 2) since I was like 17-18. Genetically I have more oval shaped hair line, whereas my 2 years older brother have perfect straight line till today. At about my 18th birthday dermatologist confirmed that I have androgenic alopecia and prescribed me minoxidil 5%. I was using it with minor improvement (hair stopped falling and had a bit of regrowth), like that "on and off" for about 4 years and then I added finasteride which gave me really bad ED (but helped with regrowth!). I guess it was mostly because I was taking it on my own, without much knowledge about the drug and how to dose it + I was not in best condition mentally. Basically since early 2022 I was off any treatment. Current state Right now, after more than 2 years without any treatment I found myself with Norwood 3 and my temples are 90% gone. I can still hide most of my receded hairline with longer hair but with just a little bit of wind my hair is getting messy and look bad again. Transplant decision Since I got remote work I could get transplant without most of people knowing about it (which is important for me) and that idea is really tempting. I still live with my family so normal full shave FUE/FUT* transplant is not ideal option for me. I found out that most of reliable surgeons discussed on this forum do perform kind of transplant called unshaven FUE or non-shave FUE which require just to shave donor area - that is much better option for me. Later on, during my research I found that some clinics even perform completely unshaven FUE, so there is no need to shave even donor area. Perfect! I decided that's what I will be looking for with my budget (about 4000-4500€) * I really never considered FUT because in my opinion it needs more time to heal and leave really obvious scar. Choosing clinic I live in Europe and cost of tickets to Turkey are really cheap, I can get there for as little as 150€ and since my budget is not big Turkey is the place to go for me. I got in touch with few Turkish clinics, some of them was hair mills (having good and bad opinions here) and some doctors (as well having good and bad opinions on this forum) so I got idea how many grafts I need and how much it will cost. Longevita - hairmill - cheapest option that I talked with, the whole experience was the perfect example of a place to avoid. They WhatsApp is a joke, basically it's a chat bot and you don't talk with real human. After sending photos of my scalp I got quote for about 2200€ for unshaven FUE and someone called me from UK mobile number. I think someone can get nice transplant there but it's more of a lottery. That's my thoughts after reading some reviews on this forum. Atilla & Turan clinic - I think it might be a scam - I almost booked with them. I did not found much information about them. Only good reviews from last 2 months. They have some YouTube channel with some videos as well uploaded not a while a go and on their website there's no even address of their clinic. Really suspicious. The guy I was chatting on WhatsApp was very unprofessional and tried to catch me (?) with giving me "early bird discount" if I will make deposit right now on theirs Wise Transfer app account. Too many red flags. I might make another thread about it. They quoted me for 1800 grafts. Yaman clinic - the most recommended clinic on this forum on my list - I feel the talk on WhatsApp was really professional. They have just two packages, one for 3250$ ca. 3000€ for 2000-2500 grafts. That's ok for but its unshaven FUE with shaven donor area. Not ideal for but for sure have the most good reviews on this forum. Unfortunately recently I found some reviews with not so good results (might be just coincidence). If I would look for unshaven FUE with shaven donor area I would definitely stop here and choose them. Heva Clinic - very well known hair mill with aggressive marketing on social media - they quoted me for 5200€. Not in my budget, it's a hair mill. I didn't talk with them more. DrT Hair / dr Tayfun Oguzoglu clinic - first clinic with specific doctor that do completely unshaven FUE - on this forum and reddit I found really mixed results. But since they advertise dr Tayfun as a surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in hair transplant I was still interested of their service. I found some more solid good reviews on Turkish forum. They quoted me for 2000 grafts. Price list they gave me for completely unshaven FUE: 2€ for short hair and 3€ for long hair. I did not managed to get information what length is consider as "long hair" but they assured me that my donor is ok to be "short hair". Kozamet / dr Harun Samiloglu - Kozamet is an agency that do hair transplant and some kind of teeth surgeries/operations as far as I found. They advertise that the only doctor involved in hair transplant is dr Harun Samiloglu, which sounds reasonable for me. I found on this forum just two reviews of transplant performed by dr Harun Samiloglu and reviews was good. Later on I found some more informations on German and Turkish forum. All of reviews was posted during last 5 years. They have as well some YouTube channel with videos (in German language) that was uploaded 5 years ago. Even that is agency I see they have real reviews and just don't seem to do any unethical marketing. They quoted me for 1800 grafts as well. Price list they gave me for completely unshaven FUE is 2.5€/graft and 1.5€ for partial FUE (if someone interested). After all this conversations I understood that I need about 1800-2000 grafts. Initially I hoped that 1500 will be enough. I have a thought that maybe in future I might need another transplant so I would like to keep amount of grafts as low as possible. I narrowed down my options to two of them - DrT Hair / dr Tayfun Oguzoglu clinic and Kozamet / dr Harun Samiloglu. I want to decide in next few days to which clinic I will go because I want to do my transplant in next month. Please feel free to comment and if you have any suggestions I will be happy read/consider them before my final decision.
