  1. I'm a somewhat public figure so I'd rather not publish images. The problem is already identified anyway, the question is if someone has experienced something similar and recovered from it even after a a year or so.
  2. Hi there, I have a rather frustrating result of a FUE treatment. It seems to be an edge case, maybe someone has a similar experience and can give me some hope. After 8 years I had my second FUE treatment at age 39. The first one with 2500 grafts went perfectly fine. The result of the second one with around 1700 grafts seems to have gone quite wrong. While the transplanted area looks as intended after 8 months, the donor area is a huge problem. With short hair you can spot the area where hair has been removed, it basically forms a "window" (side & back). It seems to be a mixture of removed, suddenly grayed and lost hair. The latter two are mainly responsible for the "window" effect. The doctor ist one of the leading FUE experts in Europe. I visited him after 6 months and he acknowledged the loss of hair. I still trust him, I did my research again before and also after the second treatment - he's still renowned. It seems I'm one of the few hat suffer long lasting heavy shock loss despite having a comparable minor FUE session by an expert. While I'm aware that shock loss in the donor area can happen, it mostly should have resolved after a few of months (so they say). As already 8 months have passed and the suddenly grayed hair might hint at a major trauma I fear that my donor area won't recover. I can't exactly pinpoint the time when the "window" formed. I only noticed it after 5/6 months when I took some pictures. I have some itching in the donor area since 1/2 months, not sure if that's really a sign of hairs growing again. Has someone here had a similar experience and can report a donor area recovery after a year or even more time passed? There's the possibility to "soften" the outline of the still visible donor area in February 2024 (one year passed), I'm reluctant to undergo another treatment though. Cheers, Theedor
