Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum but have been lurking here for some time. I suffer from MPB and have been on finasteride 1mg since March of 2021, and minoxidil 5% foam twice a day since then as well. I experienced considerable regrowth and was very happy with the results. As my hair stabilized from the fin and grew back some from the minox. I got a hair transplant with Dr. Camacho in April of this year and am going on almost 5 months since the operation. So far im very happy with the results here’s where it gets a little tricky. After my operation, I had to abstain from minox for one month per the doctors post op orders. And upon completion of the 1 month waiting period I switched cold turkey from foam minoxidil 5% twice a day to oral minoxidil 2.5mg once a day. I didn’t experience a shed at all from the switch but three months later I’m experiencing a pretty heavy shed. my concern comes from the shed starting so late. Usually minox sheds start in the first few weeks of treatment but mine came pretty long after starting the pill. Is this normal? I know not everyone’s bodies work the same but any confirmation that sheds can start this late will go a long way in alleviating my fears. Thanks!
