Transplant journey update
DavidJ replied to DavidJ's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Hi @Melvin- Admin I tagged you in my other thread where I have pictures -
Hi All, I figured I should give everyone an update on how my journey is progressing as this group has been so helpful and informative. I had to postpone my intending session in September to April next year due to work commitments that required me to travel internationally. But during this time I have been discussing my situation and having "virtual consults via sending pictures" to a number of Doctors and thought I would share my findings. Eugenix Great consult with team Provided solid information and assessment on grafts required Felt very pushy for me to pay a deposit and make an appointment Assessment ~4400 grafts needed Doner hair was average and would be able to proved up to ~3500 grafts Remaining would come from beard ~$14,000 (AUD) Dr Yaman Easy communication (Ihsan was very easy to deal with) Fast response Very fileable with dates - doesn't need any deposit or is not pushy for payment Assessment ~4500 grafts needed Doner hair was average and would be able to proved up to ~3800 grafts Remaining would come from beard Would be done over 2 days ~$8,800 (AUD) Vertex Slow to respond Not much communication but provided a detailed response Assessment ~4500 grafts needed Doner hair was not mentioned Remaining would come from beard Would be done over 2 days ~$ 18,000 (AUD) Knudsen Clinic | Sydney In person meeting Rushed and not very friendly Assessment done in less than 15 min Assessment Can "maybe get 2000 grafts Doner hair was ok and had a few "2's and 3's" ~$16,000 (AUD) Dr Gur (Feucapilar) Very very slow to respond had to chase constantly for an update Assessment Doner hair is very low Wants me to see if donor area affected by hair loss Of all the virtual consults, only Dr Gur said the donor was bad (all doctors supplied with the same pictures - I posted them on my other thread) It does worry me a bit, but 4 out of 5 seemed to think the donor was ok. I am booked in with @Dr Resul Yaman on the 4th April 2024 and am now just counting down the days - I am really hoping to finally have some hair again!

I figured I would post some images to show what I am working with at the moment. I continue to be told my doner is good by a number of Doctors that I have consulted with (all overseas) (Yaman, Gur, Eugenix, Taleb) All Doctor's have advised the same estimates for grafts Estimate 4,400-4,500 Will cover the front and Mid section and maybe touch the crown if anything is left over.

Dr. Resul Yaman/ February 2023/ 4100 Grafts
DavidJ replied to Lirti's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
I am very sorry to hear your bad experience - I am also booked with Dr Yaman for a HT in 2 weeks. It seems there have been a number of poor results posted here in the last few months. I would be great if @Dr Resul Yaman could provide some comments or feedback. As I think a few people that are planning HT with him are getting very nervous. -
Im booking in with Dr Yaman for the 13th September - very similar situation to you; NW5-6 estimate about 4,400 grafts ~3500 from head ~800 from beard I am still very nervous and not sure I have picked the right doctor as 1 min i read praise and great reviews, and the next people are saying he is not the best and has questionable outcomes.

No one seems to comment - I am booked with him, but second guessing myself every day

First - A big thank you to all the members here for the great advise and information. I am still super nervous about my decision but feel it is the best fit for me and my budget. I was looking at a lesser package with Euginex, but even that is still more expensive than Dr Yaman, and you don't get a "named Doctor" I am going with the manual extraction method (which is more costly, but I think seems better and more risk averse) Now the questions; is there anything I need to do to prepare for this? Special diet Medication/vitamins ? Give up my once a week cigar habit ? I want to make sure I give my growers all the help they can get. I have stared taking Biotin this week, and have been taking zinc for a few years now (along with oral Fin and minox) thanks again everyone !

Decided to finally do it - need some advise

Hello and thank you for the detailed information and advise. I am still working through my decision process and just waiting on a estimate/response from Dr Gur however this is taking longer than expected. I do feel I am in my short list between either; - Dr Gur - Dr Yaman (who will be able to also perform manual extraction rather than machine) I am hoping both Drs are good. . -

I have also reached out to Dr Gur and waiting on a response - I was also looking at Dr Bicer, however her prices are the same as Eugenix, and India is closer as far as travel is concerned. So its coming down to; Eugenix (Dr Das) ~AUD$24,000 Dr Yaman ~AUD$ 12,000 Dr Gur (TBA) I have been reviewing work performed by all Dr's and they all seem good. My big concern is the negative remarks I have read about Dr Yaman being a "hair mill" and maybe he overharvest (but a lot of seems to be opinion) I am just very nervous as this is a big deal. -

I just want to get some coverage back - I was told I would need to have 3 days of work at both clinics. As both clinics can do "around" 1,500 grafts per day. So the transplant would be performed over 3 days. Other than that, there doesn't seem to be much difference that I can see? Unless I am very wrong? -

Just to make sure I am being thorough and doing my research - I had a "online" consult with Dr Yaman Hair Clinic in Turkey - The opinions were almost identical. 4,400-4,500 grafts Doner is ok Will use Beard hair to fill the crown What is the difference in quality between the Eugenix and Dr Yaman ? The price is one big one , Eugenix is 3x as much, Circa $20k vs $7k (Australian Dollars) Would the quality/result be that different ? I am really confused now as to who to go with -

Thanks for the advise ! I might actually go for the beard hair also. Will also rethink the side temples as they are not really an issue to me either. My doner is weakish (thats what Aust docs have been saying) but Dr Das at Eugenix seems to think 3200 is possible from the doner and a further 300 from the "burns" with maybe 900 or so from the beard to fill the crown. Visa from Aust to india is no probs. -
