  1. I'm no doc, but speaking from experience I'd say it is way to early to see growth yet. It is very likely it will fall out. When mine fell out, the root of the transplanted hair looked kinda crinkled and curled over. Weird, since my hair is perfectly straight. All grew back nicely. nw3
  2. I think it varies from person2person. My shedding didnt kick in until one month after my procedure (late it seems); I thought I was in the clear, but alas they ALL shed away. I know you're eager to get the growth going; I know how it is! It will definately come... nw3
  3. I can personally verify that shocked hairs definately can grow back. I got a transplant in my temples about 5 months ago. The shock loss was absolutely incredible on me...the hair just behind where my transplants were done thinned considerably. However, it did grow back, and now it looks perfectly fine...especially with my transplants! I was really panicked, but it seems to have helped out in the long run to stay calm. However, this experience did show me (I believe) where my hair loss will progress next, and what I will have to cover up with additional surguries as the hairline recedes. nw3
  4. I have about the straightest hair a guy could have. When I got my transplant (FU's), the transplanted hair seemed extremely wirey. In about 4 months, it fell out (no surprise there), but when it grew back in about 4 months, it perfectly matched the rest of my hair. No more wirey-ness! Some transplanted hairs are slightly darker, but not enough to stand out. I'm telling you, I dont think a hair dresser could tell I had transplants. The transplanted temples just look less dense than the rest of my hair. Hope this helps. nw3
  5. I had about 1100 grafts done BTW. nw3
  6. Recently had transplants about 3 months ago. Didnt experience any shock loss at all in the donor area. Transplantation was done in the temple areas. I personally was surprised at the amount of shock loss I experienced. On the top-sides (temples), where my hairline was busy receeding, I lost the entire area of which I could see was just starting to disappear which was about 1/2 an inch. In addition, it caused some transparancy in the very front which really had me in a panic! The shock loss in the temples never recovered, but I personally think this is understandable since my hair was receeding there anyway. No surprise there. The grafts have not begun to grow yet but I have gotten used to the look. I did recover nicely where I was getting transparancy in the front...it is barely noticable now and I'd say Ive grown about 98% of it back, which is a relief. Looks like I did before the procedure. Hope this information helps someone. Definately expect shock loss. You have to toss up the risk of getting the transplants started early and experiencing shock vs. waiting till you are bald to start treatment. You have to take a step backward before you can go forward. nw3
