  1. Thanks for the reply dabuski. I really appreciate it!
  2. Hi, I just posted here in the forum today after several months of absence. I just wanted to inquire if you guys have an idea if missing approximately 14 days of taking Propecia (after taking it for 10 months, daily) will have a serious effect on the hair grown (or maintained) by the drug..?? I went on a business trip and unfortunately was not able to take my dosage of Propecia (1 tablet per day) for 2 weeks. I was only able to take it again when I got back home, which was 3 days ago. So I am worried that I screwed up the progress of the past 10 months of dedicatedly taking Propecia. Your comments will be very helpful. Thanks in advance guys, and special greetings to Bill. It's been a while. I'm glad you are still active in the forum.
  3. Thanks for the reply dhoose75! I am just leaving it alone. Perhaps it will just disappear over time. Thanks again.
  4. Hi guys! I had a pimple weeks ago in my recipient area. I put anti-bacterial ointment on it for a couple of days, and it seems to have subsided. However, there is still a red area where the pimple used to be. It does not hurt though when I clean this area. But it's been there for weeks. Any advice on how to make it go away? Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the replies NN and Bill! To NN, I experienced the same thing as you before as well, even on the 4th month post-op mark. So I am very curious what a lost graft looks like. Bill, I have been trying to search for a pic in the forum, but no luck. I hope someone will be able to post a pic. A lot of us guys are curious. Thanks.
  6. Hi guys! I am just curious if anyone was able to take a picture of a lost graft. What does it look like exactly anyway? I am sure everyone would like to know. Myabe you guys can post a few pics. I have never encountered a lost graft, or at least I think so, because almost all opinions state that a lost graft involves excessive bleeding. So far, all I have experienced are scabs clinging on strands of hair. I have seen what seems to be a lump of skin with hair stuck to it, but I think that it is just a scab too. Any feedback will be very enlightening. Thanks!

  8. Thanks for the reply Mrjb! I really appreciate it!
  9. Hi Robert, I posted a new topic under this section. But I also decided to post a reply here to ask about your experience with Dermmatch. I have used it 3 times already. I like it, but I cannot get all the stuff off when I shower. So my question is if that's fine. I know eventually the remaining areas of my scalp with Dermmatch still on (certain areas, especially around the base of the hair) will get cleaned up 'coz I don't use Dermmatch everyday. But I am just worried if not getting my scalp totally clean will affect my grafts or pores on my scalp. Thanks for any feedback.
  10. Hi guys, it's been a while since I posted here. Getting to the point, I ordered Dermmatch a few weeks ago. I have applied it on my scalp 3 times so far for separate occassions. I noticed it is quite difficult to get it off my scalp. Sometimes some dried powder in different areas would still be on my scalp. So what I do is I get a que tip (cotton buds) and wet it a bit, then I rub it on the affected areas. But I still can't get some off. Though i know eventually they will get off everytime I shower. But my question is if I should be concerned about it. Will it affect my grafts and pores on my scalp if I leave them there for extened periods of time? Maybe some of you have had experience like this before and can share info on how you dealt with it. Thanks guys!
  11. Bill, I have a quick follow up question. Should I just stop using the aloe vera shampoo with minoxidil? I am worried that if I can't get any more shampoo with minoxidil, or I decide later on to stop using it, that my good and transplanted hair will fall off over time.. I guess a lot of guys are worried about this as well. Should I just rely on Propecia? Your thoughts will really help me decide. Thanks!
  12. Congatulations Bill for becoming the co-moderator! It's been a while since I posted here. But I have a question. I recently tried using an aloe vera shampoo with minoxidil. At first, it dried up certain portions of my scalp, specifically the area around my ears and forehead. The areas started to peel. I guess the shampoo is strong. I also leave the shampoo on for approximately 3 minutes before rinsing it off, and I use it twice daily. I just continued using the shampoo though. My scalp was able to adapt to the shampoo because I no longer experience dryness. But is it a good idea to leave the shampoo on? Or should I rinse it off immediately? I am not experiencing any hairfall. I also take Propecia daily. I started taking the pill approximately 4 months ago after my 2nd session. Is it OK if I keep using the shampoo? Or should I just stick with using Propecia only? Thanks for you time. Congrats again!
  13. Thanks for the reply too Bill! Sorry for the delay in thanking you. I've been very busy these past weeks. Keeping myself busy seems to take my mind of my hair, and it seems to be effective as I don't pressure my hair so much..he he. Letting the grafts just produce hair and leaving them alone without pressuring them makes them do their job better I think.
  14. Thanks for the reply folica! I was worried for a while there. But I agree 100%. I can actually see hair growing out. It's true what my doctor said that even 2 weeks post-op the grafts are already securely in place.
  15. Hi guys! I have been combing my hair since 3 and a half weeks post-op. I just gently glide the comb through my hair at the sides and back. But I always make sure not to touch the scalp when I comb my recipient areas. But sometimes, some strands of hair that grow out of the grafts get caught in the comb (maybe the strands get tangled to each other, creating some sort of hook) so I feel that I have yanked the hairs out when the comb passes through them. My wife checks my scalp and doesn't see any bleeding whenever this happens, so I guess the grafts are alright..right guys? Thanks for any input.

  17. Thanks too for the reply Bill. I've seen your HT pics, as well as hairbank's. You guys now have great hair than your pics before. Later on, hopefully, I can post some pics in my blog myself that can document the progress of my HTs. I consider both you guys good sources of info, 'coz I've read your past posts and all of 'em makes sense whether it be question or answer keep up the great work!
  18. Thanks for the reply hairbank! My doctor said the same thing. However, I will cut back on the multivitamins and take only 1 tablet a day. Likewise, I will also take Propecia every other day once I am done with my 3-month daily regimen.
  19. Hi guys, I would just like to ask for your opinions. Is it alright to take multivitamins on the same day as Propecia? I take Propecia in the morning. After lunch time and before going to bed, I take multivitamins. Do you think this is OK? Thanks!
  20. Thanks a lot Bill for your info! Well, you answered my queries already so I guess I do not need to start a new thread anymore. But I can share with you the details of my HT history. As I mentioned, my 1st HT session was on May 2006. My doctor, Dr. Andrew G. Pineda, was able to get 1,600 grafts from my donor area. All grafts were placed in my hairline and in an area about 1 inch from there. In my 2nd session, Dr. Pineda was able to get 1,700 grafts. He added density to my hairline area and placed most of the grafts at the back and top of my head. It looks pretty good. I created a blog so you can see my pics (link below). Thanks again!!!
  21. Hi Bill. You seem to know much about HTs. I just had my 2nd HT procedure on April 27, 2007. The 1st was on May 2006. Can I ask you some questions? In my 1st session, I was given a new hairline and the grafts were all placed in the hairline going 1 inch toward the top. In my 2nd session, grafts were added in the same area as my 1st session, as well as in the top and crown areas. I am noticing much falling hair after my 2nd session. I think that even the already thick and long hairs from my 1st session are falling out too. I just wanna know if this is a normal experience caused by "shock." I would also like to ask if Propecia is really a good partner for us HTsters. I am paranoid most of the time, especially because I am worried that even though I had two HT sessions already that it might not be enough because my existing non-HT hairs will drop down like flies. My doctor here in the Philippines has not suggested to me to use Propecia. So your opinion about it will help me decide whether to talk to my doctor about it or not. Thanks!
