  1. Thanks for the responses. Will look to get my norwood pattern checked out.
  2. Yes this is what I'm planning. It will take multiple procedures but the doctor has a lot of success stories with high norwoods. What really pushed me to look into Dr Soni was he's done procedures with people from East Africa (where I'm from) which is very encouraging. I'm still not sure of doing anything more than FUT as I'd rather go to a specialist for Afro FUE procedures.
  3. Yeah, I was examined by a clinic in the UK. They advised that since I had hairloss this extensive at my age, it's likely it would not stabilise until reaching a Norwood 7 pattern. I was turned away by them and recommended SMP instead. I'm hopefully looking to do a transplant with Dr Soni (prefer FUT) soon but still likely won't be able to get full coverage.
  4. I hope the image clears up what I'm referring to. My family has a history of Norwood 7 so with time, hair transplanted from the upper back of my head will likely become thin due to sensitivity to DHT. I'm wondering if it's okay to transplant hair just above the donor area in the above diagram if I'm going to use DHT blockers like fin or dut.
  5. Hello, I'm someone with norwood 6 in my early twenties. I'd like to really get as much density back but I understand my aggresive hair loss is trending towards Norwood 7. I'm willing to use finasteride/dutasteride for the rest of my life (not minoxidil tho). Would it be a bad idea to use hair from the non-safe donor area for a transplant if I'm already willing to use DHT blockers to prevent further hair loss?
  6. thank you for the detailed response! I'm looking to get an fut+fue combo as i have advanced hair loss. I really can't afford a high transection rate so i may do fut with this doctor and go to another for fue.
  7. Hello everyone, longtime lurker and finally made an account to post. Just wanted to know the pros/cons of using a sharp vs blunt punch for an FUE procedure, specifically for afro hair. I recently had a consultation and was worried as the doctor advised they used sharp punches and I have curly afro hair so I was a little worried that it might increase the transection rate. Let me know your thoughts.
