  1. At the standard package Dr Gur does the incisions, plan and design while the rest is done by techs. The same with Dr Yaman.
Dr Turan does implantation himself, while extractions is done by his tech. So by selecting any of these doctors you will have both doctor and tech involvement in the procedure.

If i was a higher norwood i would select dr Yaman, since i have seen great cases from Dr yaman in higher nowroods in which he gave them great coverage. if i was a lower norwood i would select Dr Turan or Dr gur.
Another option at similar cost would be Dr Demirsoy who is also a very good surgeon. By selecting any of these surgeons (Gur, Turan, Yaman,Demirsoy) you will be satisfied with your final result. So its up to you.

  2. For 5 months it looks fine. We cant talk about shock loss on your recipient area, since you already had thinning in the midscalp before the hair transplant and you dont take medication so your hair loss progress. So if you dont take finasteride, its expected for hair loss to progress in all of your recipient area, since you are a diffuse thinner.

So my opinion is that this is not shock loss, but an expected progress of your hair loss without finsteride.

Pekiner, HLC, dr Bekir, Dr Keser do the whole procedure themselves.

Bicer does planning, design, extraction and incisions...While implantation by techs

Gur and Demirsoy in their vip package do planning, design, extraction and incisions. While implantation by techs

dr Yaman does planning, design, Incisions, supervision

dr Turan does planning, design, implantation with implanter, supervision

The clinics that Gramatik mentioned above are all great options in Turkey and worth considering depending on your budget.

BTW in most clinics of the world doctors do not do the hair traplant alone but they use techs for some parts of the procedure.

    6 Month Update:

Hello, everyone. I've completed six month few days back. I'm quite happy with the overall progress so far. Under standard lighting result is looking satisfactory, but with more sunlight & top view wise some area is getting exposed, but I'm not concerned at all. I'm looking at the progress month wise. Possibly some shading is going on for the marked area "c" grafts which were removed from the hairline, transplanted there (30 grafts) 45 days back. I went for the fade cut for the sides. Left portion side not looking great due to my previous HT, where it was over harvested.

Medications:  Currently I'm taking finasteride 1mg 3 times in a week and oral minoxidil of 2.5mg (completed 5months) everyday. I'm thinking to add topical minoxidil 5% with added 0.1% finasteride to improve the marked area (a&b)? Should I start using it or should I give oral minoxidil and finasteride combo few more months ?

    Any comments are highly welcomed.

I've tried to share photos in different lighting-

    Thank you!

I am open to opinions from other doctors but my budget is in the Dr. Yaman range, $3000-4000 USD.

these photos were from right before starting the oral minoxidil.  I will upload new photos tonight as well.

Within your budget except of Dr Yaman, you could also consider standard package of dr Gur and dr Erkan Demirsoy

Are you saying my native hair won’t come back? I had so many bad side effects with it. Does topical have less side effects?

well we dont have similar pre op and post op panoramic photos to make judgement. But it seems you already had thinng before the procedure too, and if you dont take finasteride you are going to loose more hair as the time goes...Topical has less side effects but it is less effective too than oral..better than nothing though

Thank you. That is definitely true, but my scalp did not have visible gaps as bad as I do now. Before my hair was thick enough to cover it and now I can barely do that?

Do you believe the ~ 500 grafts was enough to cover my baldness in the scalp area?

if you dont take finasteride, your hair loss progress too and you had thinning in all of your recipient area (diffuse alopecia). If you wanted to keep your native hair strong, you should get finasteride but you dont get..

I would say closer to a Norwood 2? Here’s a picture of before the procedure. The shaved picture shows more of miniaturized hairs in the midscalp. This was my hair fully grown out and styled before the procedure.

Glad you think it looks good, unfortunately I’ve lost a good amount of native hair density due to shock loss. I’m hoping it comes back soon as I’m already at the 4 month mark and only use minoxidil due to the sides I got with finasteride.

you were not norwood 2. You had diffuse alopecia and you had thinning in all of your scalp before the procedure too as it is shown in your panoramic photo before the hair transplant.. This photo hides your problem that you had beore the procedure. We cant call it shock loss that you have now, because you already had visible gaps before the procedure.

  9. Gur Turan and Yaman are at the same level. Yaman is propably the best value for money option, where you cant find better doctor at his price point and he has more patient reviews..most of dr yaman's results are great ones and he is generally a good option where the doctor participates in all of his hair transplants.
There are always some not optimal results in every clinic even in very expensive ones.
To summarise I would feel safe going with dr yaman.

I’m an really happy with my result and hair lol,

the only reason I’m doing this counting checking is because I’m highly likely about to get my crown down so I’m working out how many grafts I probably have left for the crown job and possibly another in the far future 😉

trying to look as long term as possible

You should do an in person consultation with a doctor to see how many grafts left in your donor, but you should have enough grafts available if you think that an average donor has 6500-7000 grafts available

Thank you, that makes sense. My hair looked thicker before compared to what it is right now. Is it because my native hair has not fully grown in yet after shaving my head? What could be the reason it doesn’t look similar to my pre-op picture? I do know now that I am experiencing shock loss. Should I wait till 6 months and reevaluate if my native hairs came back?

After shaving your head pre op the surgery, it seems that you already had thinning in your scalp and balds spots even before the surgery. So you shouldnt expect full head now...But in general as i said to you minoxidil can cause some shock loss to thinning hairs that you had pre op. Anyway you should let your hair to grow and evaluate at 12 months. Now your grafts yield in the transplanted areas seems to be progressing well for 4 months. So just be patient.
