  1. 6-month update Very pleased with the progress so far, it's crazy to see how much growth there has been over the past 2-3 months. Like I said in a previous post, I shed pretty much everything by month 2. As you can see from the pics, the hairline on my left side isn't as strong as my right, and the density (behind the hairline) on the right is thicker than the left. I'm hoping this will even out over the next few months. Can I expect to see new hairs in the hairline grow at this stage? Or will existing hairs just get thicker from now on? There are a few doubles in the hairline, which you may be able to see from the pics. Slightly annoying but not the end of the world, I'm sure the average person wouldn't notice. Overall I'm very happy! Still got a massive forehead, but at least my hair is not receding now! Let me know your thoughts, Cheers Here
  2. Apologies, again I've been slack with the updates! I'm currently a week off 6 months. But first I'll share some pictures from month 4... Month 4 pics
  3. Also, I started topical min after 1 month and I've been on fin since the surgery. And here's the surgery report if anyone is interested.
  4. Posted an update if you're interested, mate.
  5. Hey guys, I've been rather slack at keeping this thread updated, but here we go. I'm currently a few days short of completing week 11 post-transplant. I started the inevitable shed around the third week and it was pretty harsh, I shed almost everything by week-8 (see pics from month 1, month 2, and today below). I've seen a nice amount of growth over the past two weeks which has been promising, I'm relieved to see that things are starting to work. I'm sure everyone goes through a stage where they question whether anything is going to happen. Feel like I'm over the toughest period now and looking forward to the next few months. Happy to answer any questions and I'll be sure to post a 90 day update. Feedback welcome! 2 weeks Month 1 Month 2 Month 2.5
  6. Great result. I’m currently two months post op with Turan and my hairloss was very similar to yours, hopefully I’ll have a similar outcome!
  7. I went with Turan two months ago. If my hairline looks anything like yours I'll be over the moon! Congrats
  8. Thanks. Yeah, going to start with 1mg three times a week for the first month, then maybe increase if I have no side effects.
  9. Thanks for clarifying. I did pick up some oral fin and topical min straight after my surgery which I intend to take so fingers crossed that will slow down any further hair loss and maybe even stimulate some growth!
  10. Apologies for the poor image quality of the before donor area. Thanks for your input. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't Fin and Min just slow down the rate of loss, rather than create new growth? Which would have had no effect on my receded hairline anyway.
  11. Hi folks, Sharing my experience with Dr. Turan and his team. Date of surgery: 19/04/23 Age: 33 Meds: None but will start taking Fin & Min Norwood III Grafts: 2,839 Total cost: EUR 3,500 (standard package, where his team perform the extractions and Turan does all the implantation of grafts) I won't go into too much detail about the whole day, as many others have covered it already. All I can say is that Dr. Turan and his team are exceptionally professional. The day ran like clockwork, from getting picked up at the hotel to the moment I was dropped off again in the evening. Their work ethic is commendable. I initially started receding quite early, around 20yrs old, but it's been a slow progression since. I first started looking into transplants around early 2019, but due to covid and being locked in Australia for two years, I put off further research. I did actually book in with a 'hair mill' and paid a deposit before conducting further research and realising that was a really bad idea. Then after spending weeks trawling through youtube, this forum, and some facebook groups I decided on Dr. Turan. Mainly because of his consistent results and highly positive reviews. I've heard that he typically has an 8-month waiting list but I guess I managed to get a cancellation because I booked in with just three weeks notice. I would also like to thank everyone who has shared their experience on this site, it gave me a lot of confidence and reassurance to proceed with the surgery! I'll aim to keep you all updated on my progress periodically. Feel free to share your thoughts and ask any questions. PS. Dr. Turan designed my hairline, which I asked him to adjust slightly lower, which he did. But he also informed me that any lower and the hairs would be sitting on muscle. I've always had a big forehead, even when I had a hairline! And in the pics right after surgery, it looks even bigger because of the swelling! 😅
  12. Would be great if you could keep us posted with your progress! Had my surgery with Turan yesterday.
  13. I'm booked in with Dr Turan for mid-April. Thinking about tracking my journey on here for everyone
