I’m not totally sure, the graft count summary they gave didn’t specifically say.

However Yaman told me we were doing 30grafts per square centimeter on the crown, which he said from a glance one will still barely be able to see my scalp.

    Thanks buddy

I had a transplant early March so was just trying to compare crown growth.

You mentioned you had 2000 grafts in the front so I’m assuming the rest went in the crown? If you don’t mind sharing do you know the total amount of grafts you had or is that the number you don’t have?

    Thanks

  2. Not sure if you’re still looking but I recently had a transplant with Dr Bonaros in Glasgow on the 1st of March

My case was challenging due to a previous strip surgery, awkward hair loss pattern and fine hair.

It’s early days as I’m just over the 3 month mark but so far I’m very happy. Growth has started and it seems to be improving on a daily basis

If you need any further advice I’d be happy to advise you of my experience

Just had a look at Dr Bonaros I’m impressed and surprised it’s only £3 per graft maybe because it’s not in London. Will make contact for a consultation.

So far I’m very happy with everything. I got 2019 grafts and my case was challenging.  Only 18 days since transplant so way too early for final results but what I’m seeing so far is exactly what I was hoping for.

I will be posting a full thread if before, during and after very soon.

The Dr was available for me to answer all questions before the transplant by consultation and continued on WhatsApp.  The Dr done all the extractions and implanted all himself.  The surgical assistant helped with graft separation, counts etc. All done using Choi DHI Implanter pen.   The after care so far has been amazing with direct access to the Dr.

Compared to others the Dr was not expensive but in fairness Kensington was only going to be £500 more expensive.

Thanks quite reassuring. Yes have contacted Dr Mark Tam too and looking at Dr Farjo.
Quite happy with Kensington so far only little red flags are the supposed change of address and lack of patient photos.

I had a consultation with Kensington and Dr Zaman in January.  I was very happy with the consultation and they were still in Kensington.

I would have went with them but opted for Dr Bonaros in Glasgow as he was closer to me and had a slight preference towards his approach.

inhad my procedure on the 1st of March

There where a team of 5 technicians with the Doctor dropping by every hour or so, extractions took 3 hours and the implantation stage after lunch was 5 1/2 hours, I was fairly dozy from the sedation so it flew by.

As for the UK, someone may correct me if I’m wrong but they are restricted to the amount of grafts they can do in one sitting and offered medication for 6 months between the possible 2 procedures needed , so the cost would have been huge and I felt like they misrepresented the medications as they suggested they promote new hair growth when my research suggested that they help strengthen existing hair.

Also I found there where are lot of pressure sales and harassment from UK clinics.
    cheers 👍

You know I actually felt that.  Maybe there is restricted by regulations on the amount of grafts in 1 procedure

Every clinic I consulted with always said max 2,000 grafts for me.  I think though for me my donor only allows that but I get the feeling they are bound.

I had my 2,000 graft procedure at a UK clinic on 1st March. With my donor situation I felt it was too risky to go to Turkey and have my donor over harvested

  6. Work looks good so far.  6,000 grafts in 1 day is a lot?  You must have had multiple people working on your head at the same time.

I know you don’t want to mention clinic names but what was the reason you decided against all UK clinics?

Ahhh sorry to read about your first procedure. Finasteride is very important. A game changer in many circumstances. You have a fairly gappy hairline, assuming what was once there no longer is.

at the end of the day as long as your surgeon has filled you with confidence that he can do the job whilst setting out what is achievable then good luck to you mate. Did a quick search on the doc seems good, but he also worked for dhi.

Yes I know he did work for DHI.  Although DHI wasn’t great for me 20 years ago they can produce some decent results.  Again it just depends on the doc.

I have researched this doc enough to be comfortable and seeing his results first hand.  Doc was very realistic and kept my expectations in check which I accept.  The rest we will find out after the procedure.

Thanks for the advice.  Appreciate it

Dr mittal is doing great work and evry doctor has different charges and policy so cant turn him down just for that....i believe sometimes its worth spending a bit to get a healthy consultation....at the end this all for a better outcome

I never turned the Dr down due to the fee.  It was for reasons detailed in the previous post I just posted.

I agree I have seen some good. Work from Dr Mani

Baal you should do the same. Get a feel for what it is you want to achieve and then you can narrow your search. Again don’t know your circumstances but if Dr Mani was on your shortlist for consults, maybe you can do what “my dad is bald” did and ask for a rebait against a procedure. Sometimes you have to connect with a surgeon and see how you feel about them and if they’re actually going to take your concerns seriously and if what you are asking for is achievable according to them.

don’t get sucked into the free consults with the sales guys who pose as hair specialists. You need to have a in depth conversation with atleast 3 surgeons. And it should be the surgeon. And if they are not the right fit for you move on.

anyway good luck and I look forward to watching your journey. Forums can be hard place to navigate I struggle at the best of times.

I agree and thanks for the advice.

I do not mind paying the consult fee.  My issue was not with Dr Mani, it was more with the manner of communication with the surgical assistant.

Yes I have now had consults with both surgeons and sales people acting like specialists and the difference is night and day.

My procedure is booked for 3rd March and I previously detailed my circumstances with pictures on this post:

    (Any feedback welcome)

This isn't true. I had an in person consultation with him at the beginning of February and he charged £150 for an hour. I decided to go ahead with Dr Mani after hearing about his reviews and seeing some good results on here. I requested the consultation fee was taken off the final price, and they agreed to do this.

For anyone wondering, I am booked in with Dr Mani in September 2023.

If this was your experience it does not make my experience untrue.
They offered me a free online consultation with the surgical assistant.  When I asked if I could see the Dr in person I was told it would be £300 for that.

I would not mind paying but did not like how they communicated.  This was in November before I even knew about this forum.

No I don’t believe this to be correct, he doesn’t virtual like I did for 30 or so mins at a reduced price and then an in person consult which cost £150. He’s the only surgeon that gave me an hour during consultation and felt unrushed. Ask as many questions as you want and he encourages it. Then go away and think over the information he’s given you. I barely got 10 mins with other doctors. Although they were “free” consultations

I only referred to my experience.  I was quoted £300 for an in person consult and no option for a virtual consult was given.

Agree, in hindsight. But sometimes you feel there is nothing to loose.

Possibly poor outcome could be related to prior HTs. Any thoughts?

Eugenix, they feel that it may improve up to 12 months. But had prior HTs elsewhere.

Oh wow I didn’t realise it was Eugenix. They are the ones I’m seriously considering for next year but lately I’m seeing a good few bad results, especially from those with poor donor and prior HT’s

I had a strip procedure 21 years ago and now going to Eugenix is concerning me.

I really hope you get a better outcome over the next few months.

Would you mind sharing how much you paid and what package you opted for?

    Hi,

Really sorry completely missed it. My parents are of Indian bg so it was really easy and straightforward getting a tourist visa. In your case, it might be best to apply for the medical visa - Eugenix will provide you a letter and just apply online - should be easy! Let us know if you need help?

That’s perfect.   Never thought of that

Just read the whole post.   It looks to have grown well for 6 months given the majority is beard grafts.  It’s a shame they never planned as they should have.

Eugenix was my first choice given their results on this forum but recent posts have me concerned.

I have a surgery in March elsewhere and would like to possibly go to a Eugenix next year.

Although I’m born in the UK my Parents were born in Pakistan.  This makes it difficult to get a visa.  Did you have any issues like that?

    @ahmed9500

    Hi buddy
