  1. First of all, great result - congrats Next, could you elaborate on what you mean by that - do you mean I am still losing hair in the long run and will need a second sitting eventually ? If so, yes - I am aware of that and that's why not over-harvesting the donor is very important to me. Multiple clinics told me ~2200 grafts and Dr. Sethi (Eugenix) also mentioned the same in an in-person visit when he was here. Although two did say 3500, interestingly they were both FUT. Here are some examples I was looking at - https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/profile/12709-kaliber/?tab=node_gallery_gallery - this user has a much thicker hair density than I do, but needed hair in more or less same areas. https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/51260-2300-grafts-w-dr-bisanga-temple-and-hairline-work/ https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/gallery/album/3477-restoring-the-front-with-straight-black-hair-carlos-k-wesley-md-2300-fue-grafts/ But if I end up needing more, then so be it. And thanks to all the users for calling that out - I will check with Eugenix about that. Finally, what do you think about the suggested hairline - does it look unnatural ?
  2. Oh I would like it more dense. And I asked them if they could help with increasing the crown density as that's where bald spot is most apparent when I sport shorter hair - which is what I usually do. (is still apparent when I don't have very short hair - see attached pic). But they said and : 1) adding a few hundred hair strands in the crown area won't make much difference in the cosmetic appearance as I have very thin hair strands 2) More importantly, it might in fact damage existing hair because they don't see enough space to transplant new hair in there. So my main concern now is that if the density of transplanted hair > density of existing hair, it will make me look bald in the middle and even more bald in crown - if that makes sense ?
  3. Thanks, that's what I thought as well - it looked a bit unnatural. But then again - they said actual hairline will be what I discuss with the doctor in person before surgery. And yes - keeping enough donor hair is very important to me. Although I have a good donor area, or so I am told.
  4. Yeah, that's what I think as well. It's a bit too low and will look strange on someone who's always had a broad forehead. Thanks for chiming in.
  5. Thanks for replying. Doctor Bansal didn't think at first that temple points would be needed - I buzz my hair really short on sides, so we'll see. Also, I got an estimate from multiple clinics - most of them said 2200 for FUE. The ones that were FUT for some reason quoted close to 3500 - I am guessing it depends on density they want to go for ? Or their graft survival rate ? As you can see my existing hair density isn't too high, I'd ideally like that matched.
  6. Thanks for replying. I've been going through similar hairline reconstruction posts here and that actually seems to be the amount of grafts they needed. But if it's more then it's more. My question though is - the hairline they are suggesting seems too aggressive.
  7. I have never had a good hair line - temples have always been very receded genetically since birth. Over the last N years - I started losing some more hair (density on the crown and in general) and went on fin/min. It helped. I am finally going for a hair transplant with Dr. Bansal at Eugenix. Attached are some of my pictures and Eugenix's recommendations. They basically said they can definitely bring down the hair line even in areas that never had hair. Sounds good so far - but I think their hairline recommendation is a bit too aggressive for my age (I am 38 yo). Any suggestions on how I decide my new hairline - especially since I've never really had a very low hairline ? Photos available on another post I made here : https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/66942-is-transplanted-hair-always-frazzled-curly/#comment-688585
  8. I am considering a hair transplant. As part of the surgey the clinic (Eugenix) recommended that I stop applying topical Minoxidil 15 days prior to the surgery and for up to 3 months after. Understandable even if they're being extremely consservative. But they said that they anyway don't believe that Minoxidil does much especially in regards with the fact that I am already on Fin. I found this a bit surprising but when I thought about it, it kinda made sense to me. I thought they work differently in that Fin blocks DHT and so blocks DHT attacking the hair follicles that lead to their shrinking and eventual dormancy. And Min worked by dilating blood vessels in the skull and so assists in the hair growth cycle. Hair follicles have more blood supply and so they have more access to the nutrients that they need to perform. I am not aware of any other mechanism for hair growth that Min enables. So, in theory if the main reason for hair loss is not poor nutrition to follicles which should be true for most younger people or generally people in good health, Min should have very little effect with or without Fin. Fin on the other hand stops the only reason that we know for androgenetic aloepicia. Has anyone tried Min alone with great results ? Or has anyone tried Fin alone with great result ? And finally - what would be really telling is if someone tried both Min & Fin and then stopped Min without any significant effect in the longer term (short term shed may happen as hair follicles are so susceptible to minor changes like blood supply).
  9. Thanks for your reply. I can't find the Bisanga review - do you happen to have a link ?
  10. Oh your hair transplant looks very good. Yeah, I would take that ina heart beat. It is concerning through if a lot more hair were to remain frazzled. It looks like your hair is also pretty straight and also the hair in your donor area. So I am curious why some hair are frazzled after transplant ?
  11. So I booked a session w/ Dr. Arika Bansal and her staff (premium package) but getting cold feet after seeing some results. My hair is naturally very very straight. Anyway, I noticed that transplanted hair is always curly / frazzled. I have never had hair on the temples - genetic, my dad and his dad doesn't either. So I reached out to Eugenix for help with that and also possibly filling in a crown that has definitely thinned. They said they could help fill in the temple points but said not much they can do on crown because there's not much place there to put new hair and if they tried to do that, existing hair might die and also - because my hair (strand) is so thin - planting a few grafts there will not make much of a visual difference. So all-in-all it's only going to be hairline construction which I am ok with as long as it looks natural and matches my existing hair. Adding some pictures for reference. As a side note, I have been on fin, min and some other supplements for a while now. I am 38 if that matters. Does it make sense to go ahead with this transplant ? On the one hand would be nice to finally have a somewhat normal hairline - but on the other hand, if it doesn't blend in with my existing hair then I would rather not.
