  1. At one month, recipient area it started to look red and shedding a lot. Two months no improvement. 5-6-7 has been the good months for me so far. One pic at two month. Other from about one week ago
  2. Hey broski thanks for the kind words. Wimpole are super conservative. If I could go back I would have pushed for more like 3,500 but I understand the conservative approach. They were worried about my donor looking north blown so they wanted to see how it looked after a year. After 6 months it is looking super thick back there and I believe I could take another 2-3 k and plan to unless I get considerable density in months to come. Finasteride is also helping so could possibly avoid it. I wouldn’t dissuade you from Wimpole but I would consider options in Spain or even Poland that would do more like 4K for the same price. But Wimpole in my opinion feels like a safe option and I would consider using them again for a second pass next year. If you are really considering a ht I would say just do it, I’m really glad I did. Good luck
  3. Thanks mate. Here is some close ups not great quality though. I’ll take your advice and wait it out and keep on fin
  4. I just posted a 6 month update and your input is valued thanks
  5. G’day blokes, I said I’d post my 6 month progress here. So here it is. I had 2,800 grafts for my entire thinning scalp. I did rush my decision and decided to pull the trigger from not doing anything or knowing anything to getting a transplant one month later. I believe I could have gone somewhere else and gotten 4-5 k grafts for a better price, got a better surgeon and better result but I didn’t have a lot of free time and the series of events leading up to my procedure made me choose this route. I am happy with it. A lot more confident and still expect some new growth but have managed my expectations well since day 1. I am willing to go for a second pass to add density but I am curious about what you think in regards to what I can expect to gain from here, does it look natural, how many extra grafts do you think I will need in the future, is it possibly fin will close in the gaps etc etc. Here is some pictures of day 1 and the rest from the 6 month marker. I am on 1 mg fin with NO side effects and believe I am starting to see gains on my untouched dipping crown. All opinions welcomed, i have a pretty thick skin about this now and want to hear the truth. If anyone out there is considering doing this and feels in a same position as me before procedure please feel free to contact me if you have questions or need some advice. Thanks
  6. Thanks man. Ugly duckling phase sucks and definitely a test of character. My ONLY advice for this stage is to not let it rule you, shave your head down to number 1 & try not to think about it and let time pass by as usual. After 3 months the redness subsided & I started not wearing a hat and rocking the buzz cut. Helps with regaining confidence for later, if you can rock the ugly duck, you have already won.
  7. Hey @JoeG I’m not quite 6 months yet but yeah, have had significant result and beginning to be happy with it. I think I may be somewhat a slow grower as it is still thin so hoping for thickness in the coming months. These pics are from today is direct sunlight m. Opinions welcomed by all. Thanks
  8. Hi @Jose9not much to report mate, I am at 9 weeks into the process and have had the usual ugly duck phase symptoms shedding/redness and not looking crash hot, but, all expected and staying as positive and patient as I can awaiting the results. No side effects to fin. Feeling hopeful and will post some results when I see progress in the next couple of months.
  9. I found a solution to stay safe and look incredible at the same time
  10. Hey legends just wondering after hearing what may be myths of people getting permanent redness after a HT from sun exposure, I’m sure after the first couple of weeks that direct sunlight isn’t good but after week 7 for myself, I am going on holiday and plan to go snorkeling and diving a lot and obviously can not wear a hat in the water so I will be exposed to the sun… am I at risk of doing any damage? thanks
  11. @broskiyeah it looks like clean work to me, can’t see the donor area any more and minimal redness in the recipient area. Looks, for the most part un noticeable to the untrained eye at this point don’t feel weird walking around in public like this at all. Still feels a bit numb though but I’ve been told that’s normal and can last a month! He said when he was doing it he could have fit another 1000 grafts (it was a tough call as to how many they could fit without damaging my native hair) which is good to know because the transplant was pretty front heavy and I’m expecting (unless I get a great result from fin) that my crown will still look thin so, I’ll see how my donor heals and see how many more grafts I can potentially take to do another ht in a couple of years. But I think that is probably another draw back of Wimpole, they seem to suggest 3000 is probably the maximum they would do in a day. Maybe that’s a good thing because anything more than that, I’d expect the surgeons would become fatigued. I was there from 7.45 until 4.30.
