  1. As a middle ground option between fin and nothing I could take saw palmetto and pumpkin seed oil. I know the evidence for these is limited but there is some evidence and it might help me.
  2. The worry I had was they might be under pressure to meet targets and go ahead before it's optimal but I guess that's a risk you take.
  3. Yes keeping mine under control seems to be an almost full time job. I spoke with a dermatologist who was also a hair transplant surgeon and she recommended I use certain steroids / shampoos to get my scalp in the best condition possible before hair transplant which I did. I didn't use her for the procedure in the end but the doctor I did use was fully briefed about my condition and my surgery wasn't scheduled until she was happy it cleared up enough to go ahead.
  4. Thanks Narmak for your reply I did get checked out by a dermatologist and followed their plan exactly before the hair transplant happened I didn't just jump in blind.
  5. Thanks for your reply the clinic did recommend I take Finasteride but this is a standard recommendation they make to all clients regardless of how much and how fast their hair loss is. Yes I think I am still losing hair not sure how fast though. Attached are photos from 5 years ago so you can get an idea of how fast the hairloss is progressing.
  6. Thanks for your reply unfortunately I can't take anything topical on my scalp due to sebehorric dermatitis. Oral minoxidil is an interesting idea. Anyone know where I can get it cheap and is it a suitable alternative to Finasteride?
  7. Thanks for your reply. 5 years ago I had a 1500 graft transplant in turkey but it was a bodge so that unfortunately wasted some of my donor area.
  8. Hi all I'm 37 I just had a 3600 graft hair transplant. 1600 on front 2000 on crown. Attached are photos of my hair before the transplant. The question is can I get away with not using Finasteride? Apparently I only have 700-1000 donor grafts left so that doesn't give me much room to have more transplants in the future unless new stem cell technology allows us to create new hair follicles. I'm really not keen on Finasteride even though I know that I'm supposed to use it. Personally it seems a bit extreme to alter your bodies hormone levels daily just to save some hair. Obviously I'd prefer not to go bald but I'm not terrified of it either. I think I would look ok bald I just prefer to have the option of hair. If my hair turned grey in the future I might say F*** it and just go bald.
  9. I've seen a lot crop upabout this "revelation" such as this:- https://www.apexprofoundbeauty.com/en/treatment/breakthrough-stem-cell-treatment-for-hair-loss/ https://emrahcinik.com/blog/stem-cells-hair-transplant-turkey/ https://www.healthline.com/health/stem-cell-hair-transplant
  10. Hi all Hair stem cell transplantation sounds like the "holy grail" as it creates new hair. As described here https://hasci.co.uk/treatment/hair-stem-cell-transplantation/ Anyone have any experience with this? Does it work? I know it's expensive but it's an interesting development.
  11. Hi all These doctors makes a very convincing argument as to why 1 mg 3 times a week gives the same results with less side effect risk. I am currently on this dosage. What are your thoughts on this? I know the official dosage is 1mg every day but if 3 times a week is likely to give the same result I'd prefer that.
  12. Thanks for your reply. For a minute they had me doubting whether my review was reasonable. How do these companies get so many great reviews? Are they paid / fake? Interestingly they figured out who I was without me even providing my name although it was in the first review I posted then deleted so maybe they saw it. I thought they would accuse me of not being a real customer too but they didn't take that route. Sure I'll upload more photos another time.
  13. Hi all I thought I'd share my Google review of Gethair and their response here. Let me know what you think. Are they in the wrong or am I? The attached photo is the result after about 1 year. ** Warning please read this before going ahead **Gethair is a hair mill. They want as many people in and out as possible with little to no focus on quality.I had a hair transplant 5 years ago with this company unfortunately the result was very bad. Aftercare kept saying wait longer wait longer and eventually after 1 year had passed they simply stopped replying to emails. I had 1500 crafts to the crown and attached is the result after 1 year.I strongly suspect that a lot of the positive reviews are false. Hair transplant companies spend so much money on protecting their reputation any way they can. All they care about is looking good enough to get your money.=== Update to respond to gethairs reply - My response is in all CAPS ==Hi LWe will address your points here so readers can make their minds up. We believe most of them will realise that for somehow you decided to write this review 5 years after the operation solely to damage our business but not provide any value to future patients. - THE REVIEW IS WRITTEN TO HELP OTHER PATIENTS MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION. IM NOT SEEKING REVENGE OR TRYING TO HURT YOUR BUSINESS. It's interesting how fast you reply to this review but I have several polite emails sent to you that didn't get a reply. I was completely ignored at around the 1 year mark no offer to fix it or work with me to find a solution. You mentioned we are hair mill. We had only 2 patients including yourself on the day you had the operation. - ONE OF THOSE OTHER PATIENTS TOLD ME HE WASNT HAPPY WITH HIS RESULT EITHER AND I HAVE THE WHATSAPP MESSAGE TO PROVE THIS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT. HE HAD TO PAY ANOTHER COMPANY TO FIX HIS TERRIBLE RESULT FROM GETHAIR ALSO.THERE WAS ALSO A PATIENT THAT DAY WHO SAID YOU SHAVED HIS HEAD THEN SAID YOU WOULDNT ACCEPT HIS PRE APPROVED LOAN PAYMENT AND DEMANDED CASH. IT WAS ONLY AFTER HE CAUSED A FUSS THAT YOU AGREED TO ACCEPT HIS APPOVED FINANCE AGREEMENT. I THINK ITS TERRIBLE TO SHAVE SOMEONES HEAD THEN DEMAND A DIFFERENT PAYMENT METHOD LIKE THAT. AGAIN I HAVE THE MESSAGES THAT PROVE HE TOLD ME THIS.We never promise the crown area to grow fully in couple of months. This is not how it works. We tell our patients to wait 13-16 months for the crown region. You have been told the same. -YES I WAS TOLD THIS HOWEVER IT DIDNT GROW AFTER 16 MONTHS AND MY EMAILS ASKING ON WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT WERE IGNORED. I STILL HAVE THE IGNORED EMAILS AS PROOF IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM.You mentioned that we stopped replying to you a year after. I found an email correspondence between you and your patient coordinator nearly 1,5 years after the operation. - IT MAY HAVE BEEN A BIT LONGER THAN 1 YEAR BUT I WAS EVENTUALLY IGNORED WHEN ASKING FOR ADVISE REGARDING THE RESULT. THE AFTERCARE WAS A SERIES OF EMAILS TELLING ME DONT WORRY WE CAN SEE GROWTH WAIT LONGER THEN EVENTUALLY YOU JUST STOPPED ANSWERING. THATS TERRIBLE AFTERCAREMost importantly you failed to mention that you had seborrheic dermatitis - BELOW I WILL QUOTE MY EMAIL TO GETHAIR WELL BEFORE THE PROCEDURE AND THEIR ANSWERI have seen a doctor and got a prescription to deal with the Seborrheic Dermatitis. What are the consequences of this reoccurring condition? Will Dr tayfun perform the prodecure with this condition present with a risk of reduced success or is the procedure completely abandoned?Obviously if it would cause the procedure to be abandoned and my money lost then this is an extremely important issue to address. Thanks=====Their reply:-"You would need to have effectively treated the Seborrheic Dermatitis before you travel"I did effectively treat the condition and had a doctor verify it was cleared up right before travel. I specifically asked gethair if this condition would cause a risk of reduced success and they said no it will be fine as long as it's cleared up before you travel to us.=====Our reviews are not fake. - BASED ON MY RESULT AND THE OTHER PERSON ON THE SAME DAY AS ME I AM VERY SUSPICIOUS OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS.
  14. Sure. It seems they did stick to their plan just made it a bit higher and they were adamant that what they designed would look natural. Even after the procedure was done and they had the money they were still happy to discuss it and explain why they designed it that way. I also have 12 months of free red light therapy that will be an interesting experience. I believe there is evidence to support RLD effectiveness.
