I didn't see a graft price on Dr Gabel's web site, but I'm thinking $9000 would get you in the 1200 to 1500 grafts range which is around what you need,so you should be OK.
great! yea that works then. i just wanted to get the most out of my money, thanks

That's a bad way of planning surgery which is permanent for MPB which is progressive over the lifespan. In fact going by those tow pics if you only need 1,000 grafts I would question having surgery at all. Can I ask how old you are and are you taking any medication for your hair loss? All the best.
23, taking meds for about 5 years and it hasn’t gotten worse, i’m actually still seeing small improvements.
and i understand its progressive but i’m alr w using all my grafts up from the back if it comes to it.

I paid $1.45 per graft for my HT and got a world class team. It can be done. I would never pay $9k for a 1,500 graft procedure. If you tell yourself you're okay with traveling a bit to make it less expensive overall, you can definitely not throw away so much money. I would say keep looking and keep an open mind. That said, if you have $9k to spend like it's a few pennies sitting in your room, by all means that's your move to make.
its more of a mental thing, i would ofc want to pay less, but i dont want to travel after getting a transplant, ppl seeing it, along w everyone around me knowing about it, etc. based on my schedule now, i see family about once a couple months, and i can push it out a bit when i get my transplant. honestly, my hair looks fine when its down so i doubt anyone will notice, along with friends. i mainly just want to be discreet and since i have the money to do so, and it feels like a pretty simple process, ill likely get one in the U.S.
also: my hairline has been my biggest insecurity so like its worth it for me yk, i honestly first thought it was too cheap to get rid of such a worry. so really it just depends on how much u value it and ofc convenience etc

Think about the future. You may lose more hair as you age, requiring more transplanted hair higher up. You don't want to go unnaturally low with a hairline. It's best to choose a hairline that will still look proper and natural in your 30s-50s. Your current situation is a very small job; no more than 1000-1500 grafts.

Probably 1000 grafts or even less.
oh wow, i think the minimum number of grafts i can get at the place im going to is around 2k for $9,000 so i might get atleast 1500 or something and make the line a bit lower

i adjusted the line from a previous post but now im just curious how much grafts it would be

I think applying Toppik after Minoxidil is fine
But not the other way around. Toppik is a solid particle that will affect absorbtion of topicals you put on top.yea that’s what i was thinking, i’ve stopped using fibers atm as honestly its just to make my crown hair parting thing look perfect so its not suspicious at all but its ok w out it
-
so ik you can put minoxidil on, let it dry ans then apply fibers, but can u put minoxidil on toppik that is already on your hair?

Blue line is not a Caucasian hairline, and IMO would be a mistake.
Red line much more fitting.

There's an argument to say that they have a minimum cost to operate the theatre but there's definitely an in built profit margin there too. He's not being 100% transparent with prices for his cost, which is understandable, they don't need to tell you what they pay for each thing.
That said, i am not familiar with this doctor at all. I would strongly urge you to do a LOT of research and look for independent patient reviews on sites like this. The forum recommended list isn't exhaustive, perfect or include everybody that's reputable, but generally there's a stronger indication of quality from them.
no yea ive heard of people on here recommending him, if u search up his name on this website u should find reviews of him

Please feel free to share the clinic name and tbh, you should probably ask the clinic/doctor to show you what hairline design they want to do.
The minimum operating fee is what slightly concerns me because it implies they're not interested in perhaps treating as much of a range of patients compared to say focusing on making as much money as possible.
It might definitely be okay to try get it done now, but with caveats that you could have to end up chasing your loss if it progresses into your 30s.

23 is very young. and the hairline you drew is way too aggressive
the hairline is just connecting the middle to the sides, how else would i do it?

You said you been on Fin/Min for 5 years, have you been taking regular pictures and seen the hair loss stop or slow to a grind?
I do agree that at 23, you're not going to be in a good position being that aggressive with the hairline. If you said 30+ and had been stable, it may feel much more safe BUT the side profile you posted, the line doesn't angle down at the corners. The head is a curved thing so you cannot angle the hairline like that with a HT usually. It's more straight and up if you will.
That said, closing the corners off in a slightly less aggressive way and maybe not getting temple points is how most reputable clinics might approach things. Your temple points you want are also going to need a fair amount of grafts, but the hairline if sorted out, the temple points wouldn't really be an issue for you.
OP, some of the advice you will hear will stem around not getting a HT for at least another couple years and saving up enough money yo go somewhere good and reputable. Doing it wrong and on a whim will cost you down the line.
