Thank you for the replies. Any idea on the other questions? I have read about oral minoxidil, and I like the idea much more than physical application. However, the side of effect of increased hair all over my body is not appealing. Is it even FDA approved?

Hello, 1. I have just been to the doctor. I noticed hair loss about two years ago. Since I have grown my hair out, it is very noticeable on my crown and the top. I was given a prescription for propecia but I realize it will not grow back what I have lost. I do not like the idea of putting rogaine in my hair twice daily, not to mention the cost. Is it possible to use rogaine for a year and then let the propecia "hold" the hair and not use rogaine anymore? or does that not work? 2. I also have an appointment with a dermatologist, but it is 9 months away! Will they be ablee to tell me anything I don't know already? 3. Furthermore, there is a Trichologist clinic available as well. I view this as pseudo-science, but don't know a lot about it. Would they be able to do anything? Thank you
