  1. I recently had a PRP injection at 9 months post hair transplant procedure and went to a restaurant afterwards and had a couple of drinks. Will the alcohol in those drinks realistically affect the results/effectiveness of the PRP injection?
  2. I'm having dry scalp issues 5 months post procedure, to the point where my scalp is peeling. I have a feeling it may be caused by the topical Finestaride/minoxidil I've been using twice a day. I'm going to switch over to using it once a day and see if that helps. Does dryness in the scalp cause issues with the healthy growth of the transplanted hair? (I'm not scratching my head)
  3. I had 4,000 grafts done with 2,000 in the crown (I was completely bald), 1,600 in the front, and 400 in the middle (where I still had some natural hair). My procedure was on 10/1/22. I've been on topical Finestaride/Minoxidil since two weeks after procedure ong with 4 PRP sessions thus far. Does this look like progress? My doc said crown takes longer to grow.
  4. I didn't come here for lame jokes
  5. I'm 4 months post transplant. While I was rubbing my scalp to apply topical Finestaride/minoxidil tonight, I felt this small dry skin and realized it was a hair strand with a bulb at the end. Is this a graft? There was no blood or anything like that.
  6. I was curious about hair transplant results for people who smoke. I'm at 9 weeks post my 4,000 graft FUE procedure. While I'm not a regular smoker, I tend to smoke about 3-5 cigarettes per week. I didn't have a cigarette until 2 weeks post procedure and have probably smoked about a pack of cigarettes since then in the past 7 weeks. Without getting into the general health effects of smoking, I'm curious as to whether my mild habit will have any effect on the hair transplant results. I know there's a study that indicates smoking can harm transplant results, but I'm curious to see what kind of results people who smoke on this forum have had. I'm hoping that since I'm not a heavy smoker, it shouldn't effect my overall results.

  8. I had a 4,000 graft FEU procedure 2 months ago. I've developed a pimple in the crown recepient area. Any cause for concern? My doc said to leave it alone and not pop it. I read on other sites that you should address is as to not affect new hair growth. What's the correct procedure?
  9. I had excessive bleeding during my procedure, which prolonged the whole process. I now realized that I should have probably stopped taking multivitamins before the procedure, which I didn't. I take Men's One a Day which contains vitamins B and E, which I understand thin the blood. Can that result in an adverse outcome on the success of my transplants?
  10. I'm well aware that I'm not generally supposed to expose my head to the sun. My question is about various seconds of exposure during the first two weeks when I can't wear a hat, such as getting the mail or walking to the car
  11. What is the acceptable standard in terms of sun exposure the first 14 days? My doc said I can't wear a hat the first 2 weeks, so I shouldn't get direct sun exposure. But what does that mean? Will the minute it takes me to walk to the car under the sun cause any harm, or are we talking a long exposure? I know it might sound like a stupid question, but I would like to know. Is a few minutes of exposure here and there a problem?
  12. I was on finesteride (propecia) for about 6 years in my 20s. I was hoping I could get away with not using it after my HT now that I'm in my 40s. Im considering using the topical spray since it also contains minoxidil and potentially less side effects than the pill. Btw, my doctor is an extremely reputable doctor with high success rates and high profile clients. He told me less than 30% of his clients are on finesteride. He does the entire HT procedure by hand.
  13. If I were to start the finesteride/minoxidil spray (I was told 2 weeks after procedure), will it negative impact my transplanted hair in any way? I've heard there's a shedding period with the native hair once you get on it. Is that true?
  14. I recently underwent a 4,000 graft transplant. My doctor never really pushed finesteride and recommended that I get PRP injections on the day of the transplant, 30, 60, 90 days later, and at 6 month intervals after that. He's a firm believer that PRP will maintain native hair and help grow both native and transplanted hair. He said he doesn't recommend finesteride due to it's possible side effects. I was curious as your thoughts on this
  15. Hi everyone, I had a 4,000 graft procedure done onf Sat (10/1). Today (Mon 10/3) I was walking in the backyard when our AC unit turned on and a gust of strong air swept in my direction, including my head. Would this be cause for concern in terms of dislodging follicles?
