  1. In my mid 20s I started to notice my hair thinning rapidly. Once I noticed this, I became conscious of it and my confidence in my appearance was knocked. My hair mainly was thinning from the front of my head and this made me very self conscious. This prompted me to take action and start looking into hair transplants. I researched for over a year until I came across a clinic called UK hair clinic. I liked the look of this clinic and the work of the surgeon called Dr Mani Mittalo. I read a lot of reviews which solidified my decision to choose the UK Hair Clinic for my transplant. When I looked at Dr Mani’s work I knew that he was the perfect surgeon for me. When I arrived in Manchester we discussed my new hairline. Dr Mani was very open and honest with me and told me why the initial idea I had in my mind may not give me the results I wanted. He advised me that as I had a natural ‘V’ shaped hair line, it would suit more if I tried to keep the shape of my normal hair line which would give me a more mature hairline to suit my age. This would give me the more natural and longer lasting look that I wanted. My proposed hair line was drawn on in pen on my head and my head was then shaved by one of Dr Mani's assistants. This is when I knew I was doing the right thing as looking at the sight of my bald head scared me! The process of the transplant was very straight forward. I was made very comfortable and then anaesthetic was administered into the areas around the treatment area at the back of the head. This is where the follicles were to be extracted from. This was probably the worst in terms of pain from the whole day. During the first part of the transplant, Mani made incisions in the back of my head to remove the follicles that would be transplanted later in the day. While being removed they were stored/counted by his assistants after they where removed. This part of the surgery took approximately 3 hrs. After this was done I had lunch. This first part was completely painless. In the second part of the transplant, this was where my hair line really started to come to life! Dr Mani put anaesthetic into the front of the head where my new hair grafts were due to be placed. As I mentioned before, this is the most painful part of the entire process. Dr Mani then made incisions in the transplant area at the front of my head which would receive the grafts, that had been stored in the solution by the assistant. The assistants were so friendly and full of chat and banter with myself and Dr Mani. I found this part of the transplant the easiest and I was laying on my back and could have a full conversation and an idea what was going on. The process was explained to me throughout. Once Dr. Mani was finished, his assistants took over and started the implantation phase. This took about 4 hours approximately. Dr Mani felt at this time that I would need more grafts so he took more from the back of my head and put them to the front of my hair line as he wasn’t 100% happy with the results just yet. To me his attention to detail and how dedicated he was to giving his patients the best outcome said it all. He really does go above and beyond to make sure you are getting the results you want. All in all this was a very unforgettable day! Looking back now at my hair (1 year on from the surgery) my results are worth ever penny.
