  1. Hey everyone, sorry for the delay. Here is the 11 months update: - overall I’m satisfied as I have significantly more hair up top. - process and recovery have been fairly easy. I really don’t think it was that hard to conceal the surgery - I do have some spots that are still too thin to my liking (crown, mid scalp) and I would need another pass to be fully satisfied. I think probably about 4,000 grafts would be perfect. - for now I am still using fibers to hide these weak areas. Goal would obviously to be able not to use anything going forward. - the good news is by starting with an FUT my donor zone is still plentiful and I definitely have enough to go for this 2nd surgery in 2 years or so. - I would go for FUE for this second pass. In my opinion, the zones to cover would be: crown (1,500 grafts), mid scalp (1,500 grafts), a slightly more aggressive hairline (500-800 grafts), placing grafts in my scar so it becomes invisible (300-500 grafts) - for this I would probably go to Zarev as I have been so impressed with him! please share your thoughts!
  2. Sorry for the delay. I am at 7 months + 4 days. the good: - I like the density of the hairline - scar is very hard to detect for my usual hair length (I never really shave sides). That being said I feel like the scar has stretched a tiny bit in a particular area. I will try to get a photo of it next update. the not so good: - I am still waiting for my crown to fill more. I wonder if it will at this point. If you look at my photos 1-2 weeks post-ops, it looks like I had more coverage / graft than now. So wonder if the survival rate was good on the crown. - the midscalp is a little see through still as you can tell from the pictures (especially my left side). I will probably need a second procedure to get to a point where I feel comfortable not having a little bit of fibers on. - I feel like a couple of hair on my hairline have the wrong direction. Again, especially on my left side. When I try to comb them towards the left they just don’t go that way, so I’m kinda forced to style my hair in a certain way (left to right). Overall, I’m about 60-70% satisfied of the result given number of grafts and area to cover. Again, appreciate your feedback and opinions on my situation!
  3. I don’t plan on reaching out to dr Hasson until month 9 as the surgeons usually advise to wait at least that long to get true feedback on the HT. Right now I would say I am 60% satisfied, but I am also just at roughly the stage of 60% growth so not panicking just yet. My objective after 1 year is to have full coverage so I don’t have to worry about my hair anymore (at least for a few years) and don’t have to use fibers anymore. For now I feel like I am still self-conscious about the crown and for that reason am using fibers 2-3 times a week. I am obviously aware that we can’t achieve perfect results, especially after 1 surgery, and I am ok with having a less than perfect density in some places. It is also worth noting that my expectations were maybe a bit different than others on the forum considering that I wasn’t completely bald going into the HT and had 6k+ grafts placed.
  4. 6 months update - Overall, growth continued this past month, but I feel like it is slowing down now. Which is to be expected, the law of diminishing returns applies to hair transplants. - I am happy with the hairline, looks natural and good density. - I am also happy with the donor area, which looks untouched and scar is invisible even with pretty short hair. - On the other hand, I feel like the crown isn’t progressing that much. I guess it really takes more time for the crown. But I’m starting to get nervous and feel like I won’t have full coverage on the crown. Time will tell. - The mid-scalp is still a little sparse as well. Depending on what angle you look at my hair, and how I comb it, you can definitely see through. For example, when I comb it on the side (left to right), you will definitely be able to see through on the left side, while the right side will look good (see photos). - I am hoping to get maybe 20% more growth in mid-scalp + some maturing of the hair already popped out in the next few months and hoping for 40% more growth in the crown. Is that realistic? Let me know your thoughts. - I added a little collage in the photos. 1st row is at 4 months, 2nd row is at 5 months and 3rd row is at 6 months.
  5. That’s some great progress. Especially mid-scalp. It was still a little see-through 2 months ago. Now looking super solid and very natural.
  6. Month 5 update - growth continued this past month. It’s hard to notice day to day as you get used to having more hair but when I look back at photos from month 2,3 and 4 I can clearly see the difference. I would say now I am getting almost to the same place where I was before op with fibres on - there are still areas where I would like more density (see photos below). Especially both corners of my hairline + that bridge between hairline and crown. That area got almost no graft if you look at post op pics so not sure what to expect. Might be a touch up for the future. - for the next month I am hoping for some more growth (I.e., new hair) as well as maturing the existing new hair that already sprouted. - as you can see with the different photos, scar is super difficult to see. Got a haircut this morning, pretty short on the side and even with wet hair it’s tough to see it. photos below are with flash. First few are wet hair and then dry hair. please let me know your thoughts. As of now I think I am on track for month 5 ans happy with the results.
  7. Hey man! Would love to see an update! Have you seen progress recently?
  8. 4 months update! - I noticed some substantial growth in the last month. I’m definitely above baseline. Now using fibers instead or wearing hats. And with fibers I appear to have a full head of hair - really haven’t had that many issues in terms of pimples or itchy scalp overall - scar is completely undetectable - overall I’m glad I went with FUT as my donor looks untouched and I never wear my hair super short anyway excited for the next few months. Let me know what you guys think!
  9. Definitely some progress since last update. I think you will be happy at the 12 months mark.
  10. Sounds good. Hope things are thickening on your end
  11. I would say my wounds usually heal pretty fast, yes. As for the remaining grafts available for FUE, the doc told me it’s around 4K. I plan on doing an FUE in a couple of years as a touch ups where needed.
  12. Month 3 update! Overall, not a ton to report on. I started seeing some growth maybe 2-3 weeks ago. Not real “new hairline” shape noticeable though. At roughly 5-6 weeks post-op I could see some black dots on my scalp and thought it was new hair but these dots disappeared in the next 3-4 weeks so I think it was remaining grafts that had not shed. I only had 2-3 pimples in total. No itchy sensations at all. Im hoping for a lot more growth in the next 2-3 months. Scar is not noticeable. It’s even hard to capture it on photos when looking for it! please let me know your thoughts on the progress so far!
  13. Did Hasson make this comment on Minoxidil? I thought he was prescribing it. and agreed with you that the result you have right now is nowhere near final. It will greatly improve!
  14. I would wait until month 9 or 10 to make a final judgement on density. Are you not on fin because of sides? how have you reacted to oral min? Did Hasson recommend it for you?
  15. I would have expected slightly more density at 6.5 months but it’s very possible it will all fill in by the 12 months mark. Are you on meds? any plan to address the crown in the future?
  16. Have you seen any improvement in terms of density since last update?
  17. Quick question y’all: I’m currently at roughly 2 months + 1 week. When touching my scalp, I often feel mini bumps, which are made of dead skins and flakes mostly. But when I pick them up with my fingertips and/or fingernails, a hair is often attached to it (see attached photo) Is it possible that picking these dead skins will impact my final result?
  18. Month 2 update: - I have shed pretty much all transplanted hair between month 1 and month 2 - I haven’t gotten a haircut since procedure and the scar is not noticeable anymore except when hair is wet (it’s been the case for the last 2 weeks maybe) - minor shock loss around the scar on the sides but nothing too bad - the hair where I suffer from shock loss is a little coarse which is strange - I haven’t had any pimple, itching or anything of the sort so far - I noticed a few new hair popping recently, feels like a stubble at this points. Hoping this is going to accelerate in the next few months - I am still wearing a hat most of the time. I have attached some more pre-op photos and some 2-months post-op photos. let me know your thoughts
  19. Density typically develops at around 6 months. one question for you: - did your hair grow back a bit coarse around the scar area? Had an FUT with Hasson 2 months ago and my hair is much more coarse than before the surgery, specifically on where the scar is.
  20. 1 month update! - shedding has started and is noticeable but I feel like I still have a good 50% of the transplanted hair. Do you guys know if lower amount of shedding affects the regrowth speed? (I.e., should I expect it to be slower?) - scar is becoming harder and harder to notice and is healing well. No stretching. - no pain, no itching, no pimples. Very lucky in that department!
  21. Week 3 update: Not much to report on except for the fact that shedding has yet to happen, although I feel like I have seen slightly more hair coming off in the shower in the past 3-4 days. Is there a correlation between how early/late you shed and how early regrow is happening? I also feel like I am not experiencing too much shock loss around the scar, which is slowly becoming more difficult to see through the slightly longer hair. let me know you thoughts!
  22. What if you occasionally sleep with Toppik on your head? (I.e., don’t wash it off before bed)
