  1. Wondering if the after effects of a hair transplant, specifically the effects on skin, (mine is a moustache hair transplant) are only going to subside with time. I read somewhere that once the hair growth starts at 3 month mark, bumps are gonna come back and may end up becoming permanent, is that true? And they are chances of catching folliculitis when that happens? I was promised skin getting back to normal in few months after the surgery by the doctor, but the more I read online, the more worried I get about what's going to happen to the transplanted area.
  2. Are these pics from the first few weeks of the transplant? Your recipient area skin looks bruised and a little red. Also, did you consider shaving it all off, and going fully bald?
  3. Is there a time after which you can be certain that the bumps you see are not cobblestoning but regular bumps that go away in a few days?
  4. 12-36 months? That sounds awfully long. My doctor told me the skin would be back to normal once the hair starts to grow. The bumps are gonna come back with hair in them and would go away once the hair breaks the skin. Unless you have scarring/cobblestoning things should get back to normal at 3-4 month mark, for facial hair transplants. I'm a noob, take what I say with a pinch of salt
  5. If I had the moustache you have pre-transplant I'd have never gone for one haha.. crazy how we all want something more!
  6. Doesn't look like it to me. Bumps may last until 4-6 weeks. From what I know (I'm a newbie to the transplant world), bumps on chin and upper lip last longer than on cheeks. My upper lip bumps lasted about 4 weeks.
  7. I got a slightly bad moustache transplant where some hairs were transplanted slightly higher up on my face than normal. I plan to get rid of them after they fully grow, through electrolysis or laser or whatever. But until then I'm wondering what I can do to hide the unwelcome hair. My plan - Clean shave is what I'm gonna do, may be apply some concealer make up to hide the black dots (if I get them) when I go out. I hope I don't end up with a drawn on look, my transplant contour looks pretty random and I also got lot of singles transplanted. Hopefully I can shave it all off without leaving a shadow. Wondering what others in similar situations do..
  8. Man I'd love to get a repair done by Dr. Mwamba but I live in India. May be I can travel to Belgium sometime. Anyway I hear Eugenix is a great place for beard transplants and repairs. Will check that out 8-10 months later once the growth more or less completes. Meanwhile I'm looking for ways to hide the unwanted hairs in my moustache transplant. Wish I got it done in 2020 so I could go around wearing a mask all the time haha.
  9. I'm curious to know if you are left with any scars or pits or discoloration after the removal. Please post before and after pics if you can. Thanks!
  10. Thanks for the reassuring words! How does your moustache area look when you clean shave? Any bumps, black dots or transplant contour lines that show?
  11. Yup I understand, what I can do now is only wait sadly. When you clean shave, are the areas where grafts were removed noticeable? Do you grow out your moustache or clean shave usually? I'm worried about additional scarring if I do get the unwanted hair grafts removed or relocated.
  12. Yes, for sure. Thanks for your concern! I wish to turn back the clock but now I have accepted it and thinking rationally for solutions. I have attached couple of pictures. It's a regular hair restoration clinic in India. I did not do enough research before deciding to go for the transplant. But now, after the surgery I am so much more informed and wonder how stupid I was to not do this before. The surgeon did not transplant any hair right above where the upper lip ends and went too high above the red lines.
  13. I'm 30 years old, Indian by ethnicity. I got a moustache transplant surgery about 35 days back. 400 grafts. Healing well I think. However, I am not happy with the contour of the transplanted hair. My surgeon transplanted about 0.5 cm up over my expected hairline on the upper lip and it looks pretty unnatural now. And I think it would continue to look unnatural once the hair starts to grow 6 months or so later. Btw I don't want to grow a mighty moustache, I'm happy with a stubble. I am desperate to know the methods to remove the unwanted transplanted hair since I think clean shave doesn't do it. I've seen pictures where the transplant contour is always seen even after a close shave. I have full head of hair so I don't care a lot if these few follicles are wasted. All I want is a natural looking stubble on my upper lip I want to get rid of the unwanted grafts with minimal scarring. Can I get electrolysis/laser hair removal done? Do they remove the black dot that we see on clean shave? I don't wanna go for another FUE, I'm done with hair transplants lol. However, if there's no other option I might consider another FUE to simply remove the follicles. I'm also worried about the scarred skin in the transplanted area.. hopefully it goes back to normal in few months. It does, right? If it still remains blackened due to scarring and uneven to touch, what are my options? Are there any treatments to make it look normal? Honestly, I think I made a mistake getting the transplant. I'm happy if no hair grows on my upper lip but would really need to get back my natural skin (well as much as possible). Thank you very much!
  14. Do you mean it can be shaved off clean if mostly singles are transplanted?
