  1. Yes I know. I'm on 1mg 3x/week. I'm just wondering what if side effects become worse and to the point where I need to stop taking Fin. I've only been on it for two months and I've read of cases where people had to quit after 5-6 months.
  2. Hello all, I just recently had my HT two days ago and I have been taking Finasteride for about two months now. My surgeon told me I'm required to keep taking Finasteride for at least a year otherwise it will negatively affect my natural and freshly transplanted hair. My question is - what if the side effects become bad? A few weeks ago I've noticed the usual lower libido and less nightly errections. At the moment it's not at a point where I'd stop taking Fin, but there is a possibility that it does get worse over the next 12 months and then I'll have to reconsider. Is it really problematic to stop Finasteride within 12 months post-HT? Would it really have a bad impact on my results?
  3. I'm having my surgery with Dr. Bicer end of August, so just a few days before yours. Regarding the SIM card - if you absolutely want to be connected at all times, you can buy one at the airport for about $20. But I personally don't think it is necessary as you'll likely only be in the clinic and the hotel most of the time. The airport in Frankfurt has free Wifi so definitely no need for a German SIM card.
  4. Results look really great so far! I've got my surgery with Dr Bicer booked in one month. You mentioned you sorted your hotel by yourself. Which hotel did you stay at and would you recommend it?
  5. Hello all, I have already booked surgery with Dr Bicer. I've read many reviews about her work and have no doubt that she does excellent work. However, in the past few days I've been reading more about FUT and how it can yield better results in terms of graft management. I've been told that my donor is average and I assume that I'm going to need at least one more procedure in the future so I'd like my donor to be used as efficiently as possible. From what I've seen Dr Bicer is pretty much only doing FUE. I contacted Dr Pathomvanich in Thailand and he suggested to do a combination of FUE and FUT (I believe that is his specialty). He doesn't have as many patient reviews as Dr Bicer but the ones that he has all show great results. Considering the advantages of FUT and that I need 3500 grafts for the first HT plus a likely second HT in the future I am thinking to change and go with Dr Path. The scar from FUT is not a big deal to me as I usually leave my hair long enough in that area so that it shouldn't be visible. I'm quite undecided at the moment and would appreciate any input.
  6. Hey man! Thanks for documenting your journey. I have surgery booked with Dr Bicer in August so this helpful for me to manage expectations
  7. Thank you all for your replies. I will start taking Finasteride as soon as I can. I've done enough research/reading to have an idea on what to expect. I am still unsure however, if I should proceed with the surgery as planned (2.5 months from now) or if I should push it back to wait for the effects of the medication? I've been wanting to do the surgery for a good while already so pushing it back further would be disappointing to say the least.
  8. Hello all, I have been reluctant to take Finasteride due to the possible side effects but after reading more about it it seems worth it to try it out. I do have surgery booked with Dr Bicer end of August this year. So my question is if it is advisable to get on Fin now less then 2.5 months before the surgery? My other option that I'm thinking off is to push back the surgery to at least 6 months later and get on Fin+Minoxdil now to stablize my hairloss and see how much I can retain/regrow and then get the surgery. What do you guys think?
