I'll definitely consider naming them though. Let me think about it.

You've received a lot of support from this forum since you first posted.

In the last 22 days since you posted, your clinic could've done another 22 surgeries and you could've helped these poor souls from enduring a world of pain. They are now without their money, results and are no doubt planning follow up surgeries to rectify their botched HTs.

If you won't do it for yourself, please do it for that person who happens to stumble upon this forum before their surgery with your clinic and help prevent them from making the biggest mistake of their life.

  2. 2 days is definitely enough to see all the tourist sights in Brussels!

Over 1-2 days, you could check out...

    - Grand Place

    - The Broodhuis

    - Mannekin Pis

    - Palais Royal

    - Parc de Bruxelles

    - Notre Dame Du Sablon

    - Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert

    - Cathedral Des Sts Michel Et Gudule

    - Atomium

And if you manage to do all of the above in 1 day, take a train to Bruges for a day trip! Totally worth it!

  3. Try not to wash your hair as frequently. I remember my hair was sooo dry for the first month or two, constantly flakey because I kept washing it.

My surgeon said after 3 weeks I could have a haircut but I waited 4-5 months.

Regarding your other questions, it is best to double check with your surgeon. I'd try to just use organic, natural only products as much as you can.

They only work good on diffuse thinning, on bald spots it looks terrible

Can confirm this. I saw a guy walking in the city and he had obviously applied fibres to his one big bald spot on his hairline but the wind was so strong, it had pushed all his remaining native hairs IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION of where he had applied the hair fibres directly. He also didn't brushed the hair fibres evenly in the nearby area.

He had this weird black hairy dot right in front, for the whole world to see.

I put the pricing up earlier in the thread but I think it was between 8 and 10k including flights

Congratulations Ishy on your amazing result! Fellow Sydneysider here.

I actually remember you from the Hair Loss Talk Forum asking for advice about hair systems. I replied and tried to give you some tips.

I ended up going the hair transplant pathway this year - and even though I'm only at 4 months now, there is no looking back. Definitely beats the maintenance of a hair system so far.

Now just waiting for my results to kick in - if I can have results half as good as yours, I'll be over the moon!

  6. Definitely wearing the fringe down looks more realistic than up. You then don't have to be as concerned about getting the hairline exactly right.

You can buy shearing scissors to help reduce the density - when doing this, it's important to hold the scissors at the roots, close the scissors and slowly bring them up through the ends so you are deducting only a small chunk of hair at once. Go slow, do it evenly and not do too much all at once as you can't bring the hair back. When I wore hair systems for 3 years, I would debulk over time until I got it right, but don't go too fast.

The interesting thing I found is that over time and with more wear and natural shedding, my hair system looked better and more natural. It is a process and takes a lot of experimentation to get it looking right. It is also best to focus on developing your own skills and independence, so you don't have to rely on the salon. It took me about 6 months... my cupboard is littered with all kinds of styling products but I ended up landing on American Crew hair spray gel for styling to give a mild wet look, Got2B Glued hair spray for positioning and keep my hairline down, American crew shampoo for the minty smell, and sea salt texturing spray Toni and Guy.

If you haven't already, I would definitely recommend purchasing a colour depositing conditioner, like Back2Natural. You can apply this to the system but also your biological hair to ensure you have a consistent colour between both. It will also help to keep your hair system soft and to avoid a red/green tinge creeping up on your hair system. It is definitely worth the cost.

    WOW - Incredible results!

What style hair cut is this? When I hit the 5 month mark, this is the style I want too.

I love the natural colour of your hair, by the way. At times, it looks light brown and then blonde.

  8. Honestly? I think you're fine to wait a few more years - continue the fin and minox and then re-assess.

Regarding hair systems, I wore one for 2 years as a NW3 in my late 30s and though it helped me hide my hair loss and weigh up my options (which ultimately led me to a HT), I do personally think that hair systems are a last resort. Not everyone is cut out for the ongoing weekly maintenance - and there is a lot of regular maintenance to get it right.

There is also the psychological/emotional weight of hair systems - for example, sitting with constant anxiety in social situations/public transport/airplanes someone may be suspicious about your hair or lean in too close, not being free to go for camping/road trips or any holidays beyond 3-4 days without maintenance, not being able to jump in a swimming pool without a fear that the hair system will slide right off of your head... and of course, intimacy.

This a whole lot to sit with (I did it for 2 years) and for someone with the density and hair that you have, it's simply not worth it.

Rule of thumb is once the scalp is healed and not irritated your good which should be 2-3 weeks. I gave it 6 weeks to be on safe side but i still say your good once your healed. As stated box dyes are generally midler than a bleach treatment which presumably you didn't have.

Ive dyed last 2 transplants , just over a month out and no issues at all.  Just need a cure now for grey hair , now that the baldness is sorted!!

Thank you, I was completely healed by 3 weeks. Very pleased by my progress given the first 7 days were so rough with swelling and searing pain.

I'd sign up for that grey hair cure, especially since I started going grey in my early 20s!

Hair dye usually isn't as caustic as say bleaching the hair which is what i think a lot of people might think like i did when thinking of hair dye.

Usually the box dyes are more mild and forgiving but personally i wouldn't feel comfortable using them till probably 6+ months.

OK, thanks for your feedback. I'll definitely take it easier from now on with the hair dye.
