Looks amazing!! How long after your HT did you start dermarolling? And did you choose dermarolling over a dermapen for any specific reason? Congrats on the successful repair!
I chose dermarolling because it was the first thing I came across, I've heard dermastamping is much better because it's constant pressure whereas rolling is varied pressure. I'll probably buy a dermastamp with adjustable lengths to replace it now

Your results looks great and looking forward to get better.
if you can please guide me for my transplant journey
I am 4 months in since my transplant and my surgeon recommended derma roller
I am not very confident about it as I think it might end up doing more damage than good
so if you can guide,
How soon after your transplant did you start derma rolling
was it in the initial 6 months after transplant or later
thank you
thanks! I think after 2-3 months I started with the dermarolling. You can look back in this timeline of posts and see if you want to be exact!

Looks amazing do you have any more photos of how your hair looked before?
Yeah I do, I also have some prior to my 1st surgery where the difference is now huge

Scar is looking great. Seems like the hair is growing well in it. The only way I might notice it is that it’s still a bit pink. Will the pinkness eventually goes away and blend in with the skin? How long and how wide was your scar do you know? Thank you for answering, I am looking to repair my scar as well, your updates are very helpful and informative.
Hey I can only assume so just like any other scar it will eventually fade. I don't know the measurements but I have a picture on the first page of this thread of my head shaved down before surgery that will help.

I was also prescribed oral minoxidil 1.25. May I ask why you went with that strength? I keep reading on the internet for men 2.5-5mg... hopefully the small dose is enough?
I figured it was better to start small. If it's something you need to take for life the chances your body forms somewhat of an immunity to it are higher I would think. If you need to ramp it up later you can increase the doseage.

28 Week (7 months) Postop Update: Really happy with my results! I just had a haircut yesterday and shaved the back and sides down to a 1. I can no longer see the scar on the back of my head as the new grafts Dr. Bicer implanted have now grown over it.
Continuing with Fin 1mg daily. Derma roller 0.5mm twice a week.

24 Week (6 month) Postop Update: So happy with the results so far. Just had a haircut earlier today. Buzzed to a #1 on the back and sides.
My doctor has had me stop taking Oral Minoxidil and will not give me a prescription as he claims it is very hard on your kidneys. I did a quick search online and didn't find it to be particularly bad. Curious to know other people's thoughts on this one? @Gatsby I think you mentioned you've been taking it for some time?

Everything is looking great man
You must be thrilled so far
The scar still needs a little improvement
Thanks! I actually don't notice the scar much (probably because it's on the back of my head haha) but once I hit the 1 year mark I'm sure it will be less visible.
Really happy with the results so far!

Looking good! How close can you shave/get a fade on the back before the scar is visible? Or do you think the new grafts do a good enough covering it up? The picture you posted looks good so I'm curious how close of a shave that is (e.g., #3, #2, etc).
Thank you! If you go back to my pictures on Week 21 I just had a #1 on the back and sides of my head to give you an idea. I'm hoping that after 12 months you won't be able to see it even when shaved down to a #1 but let's see! Week 22 would be a week of growth so likely closer to a #2 at that point.

I was adamant that I wanted my frontal region packed with grafts as tightly as possible and I would be okay with using more grafts than 1000-1500. She said she could go up to 2500 but she would keep the price she quoted me previously at 1000-1500 grafts.
@Astrobhoy mine was an interesting case as you can see here. I believe the price used to be minimum 5K Euro for up to 2K grafts then 2.5 Euro per graft afterwards, I can't remember exactly. I paid 5K as I was quoted 1000-1500 grafts originally and Dr. Bicer honoured this quote even though it ended up being ~2500 grafts. So really I should have paid ~6250 Euros based on the prices at the time. The prices may have changed since then, I'm not sure.
I would reach out via Whatsapp, they're usually quick to respond there.

Thank you for the updates!
One honest question here. Why does your donor look noticeable thinner than non-touched areas given she extracted only 2.5K grafts? Do you think that shock loss may be still going on?
Could be! I'm no expert. But I will take thinner hair in the back then upfront any day if that's the trade-off I have to make!
My sides have been untouched for any future surgeries so I'm not really worried about it. We'll see how things play out at the 12 month mark :).

2450 Graft FUE Transplant Repair - Dr. Bicer, Istanbul, Turkey

48 Weeks (11 months) Postop Update: Hair is so much thicker and full now. Old transplanted hair that was planted at odd angles has blended right in to the new transplanted hair just as Dr. Bicer planned. Couldn't be happier with how things have turned out so far! Going to let the hair grow out a bit for the 1 year pic. 😄
Continuing with Fin 1mg daily.
