7 months update It's been seven months since my transplantation. I am so happy that I went through with it. Before the transplant I walked past the living room mirror with great frustration, everyday thinking that this will only get worse as time passes by. Now all I feel is relief. I was fortunate to not shed all of the transplanted hairs after the procedure, and I reckon all my transplanted hairs had sprouted after five months. The last two months I have not seen any new growth, only maturing. Less curly and increasing diameter. Here are some pictures of the results. The redness is caused by seborrheic dermatitis, which I've been struggling with for years...

You two might be right, but I feel my forelock area was in worse condition than the pre-op photos show. You can see this in the next picture. This is taken close to four months after the operation. You can also see some scarring after I removed a lipoma the month before the hair transplant. The HT docs were a bit concerned that any hair would grow there, but it turned out very nicely! The line that is drawn on my head in the first picture is something my sister did before I left for Turkey. Not done by any doctors lol.

2 months, 7 days post-op: Been shedding for the past month, but luckier than most I guess. Seems like shedding is mostly done, and what is still there has grown a lot. Also noticing new hair sprouting in the recipient zone. Still some redness going on in the recipient zone, but that was expected since my scalp is very sensitive and I've had some trouble with seborrheic dermatitis earlier. Got a prescription for oral minoxidil last week and will take a dose of 2,5mg (eventually 5mg) ED. Hopefully it will boost the growth on other areas that are thin. (crown, mid-scalp and temple points).

50 across most of it. A small are at the middle scalp got 30.

The scabs pretty much came off by themselves. I was spraying a lot of saline solution om the grafts every day. After taking a shower i gently moved my hand over the transplanted hair and the scabs came off quite easily.

Thanks! What area are you refering to? Definitely have thinning behind the transplant zone, but it doesn’t look to bad when my hair is longer.

Day 16: Have not noticed any shedding yet! Still pretty red, but getting better day by day. The pictures look worse than it does in the mirror tbh.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the density they sketched out. The only picture I've got is this one: Sorry for making you tilt your head. Can't seem to flip it the right direction lol. Area 1 is 50 per cm2 and area 2 is 30 per cm2. Area 2 is symmetrical on the other side aswell. Glad to see other people going to HLC. I checked out your thread. Looking good! Best of luck ❤️

I agree it seems a lot. In the online consultation I was quoted 2800-3200. While drawing the hair line they gave me a couple of options. To reduce the number of grafts I could have left the forelock alone, or chosen not to fill in the area at the back. That would probably have reduced the number by 1000 grafts. I do have a rather large head, so that may have upped the requirement for grafts. The total donor capacity was 8000-8500, so I still have 50% left. I also started dutasteride in January and I've seen some improvement compared to finasteride, so hopefully I don't need to do anything more in the coming years. When I'm 40 years old I don't care if my crown is bald Thanks for the well wishes!

1 week update: Scabs are starting to come off. Donor is still red, but it seems like they used a very small punch size, so hopefully minimal scarring!

Age: 29 Been on finasteride for 8 years. During the last couple of years an island started to develop in the front (I'm an island boy ♫). Decided it was time for a hair transplant to fix the receding hairline and add density to the frontal half. After a lot of research I ended up going to HLC Ankara. Great experience! This was done over two days. This is a form which shows the graft distribution. Shamelessly stolen from @MachoVato. HLC only shows grafts with more than 2 hair follicles as multiples. When calculating the average hair per graft in a multiple I used the number 3. This means the average hairs per graft is higher than 2.6 shown in the form. Pre-op vs. post-op pictures:

Thanks for the feedback. I'm pretty sure some diffuse thinning is going on in this area on the left. Seems better in the picture on the right though, about one month after starting dutasteride as well. And stopping PRP (which seems like a slight scam)

Hello! I'm 29 years old and I've been using finasteride for 7-8 years. Minoxidil on and off, but recently started getting consistent with it again. After seeing increased diffuse thinning the last couple of years, I've decided to add dutasteride 2x week, with finasteride rest of the week. After doing lots of research I've decided that I would like to go through with a hair transplant. I've sent pictures to numerous clinics and I've picked one in Turkey (not a hair mill) to do the surgery in June. I have a couple of questions, where I hope some of you could provide some insight. Thanks! How many grafts do I need to reconstruct the hairline and provide density to the frontal half? I've been quoted in the range of 2800-4000 from different clinics. What will happen to the diffuse thinning hair in my forelock? How sketchy is it to do some work on the temples? I like to keep my hair short, and my temples are pretty diffuse, so I find it hard to believe a natural result can be achieved. Here are some pictures, last picture with longer hair, looking pretty shabby.
