  1. I can’t comment on the long term results, but I had my procedure with Dr. Wong today and he made all the incisions himself - it was a long procedure so he was brought in several times. The insertions were made by his team of techs, who spent a lot of care properly orienting grafts. Dr. Wong had excellent bedside manner and fixed the anesthetic at the slightest indication of discomfort. I personally didn’t experience anything that made me feel uncomfortable, and am excited (but patient) to see the results. So while I have no insight into the particular incident in the Reddit thread, as someone who saw it and immediately panicked about my incoming appointment, I am very relieved to have received stellar care
  2. Well this is certainly not the kind of thing you like to read when you have an FUT with Dr. Wong in 2 days. Following this thread closely
  3. Hello all (en goedenavond), thank you so much for your information and answers. To answer Dr. Ahmad's question, I'm 28 years old I was hoping to stick with FUE, as I'd like to wear my hair short on the sides and the back and longer on top (the opposite of what I have now), and I'm somewhat worried about the horizontal scar FUT would leave. But I imagine with the amount of area I'd like to get covered that might not be realistic and I'll have to see what the doctors recommend
  4. Hello there, I'm considering a hair transplant and would love any advice the community can give (especially on areas I want to address can be treated and whether my donor hair looks acceptable) My hair loss started fresh out of high school, but I ignored it for 5 years. It's difficult to say where exactly on the norwood scale I'd rate it, since the hair was never completely gone in places, just incredibly thin in a straight band across the top and a perpendicular line down the front with a stubborn patch at the very front holding on. Once I saw my doctor about the issue and we did some blood tests he put me on a prescription of finasteride, which I have taken for 5 years. The finasteride reversed the hair loss somewhat, in that a layer of fuzz appeared where hair was gone, but it did not grow more than that. After two years on the finasteride I also started applying minoxidil which reversed the hair loss more, reducing the width of the thinning band across the back of my head. I've applied the minoxidil for three years now. Below are pictures of what I have today The band running down my head from back to front makes doing any kind of hair styling quite difficult, so if possible I'd like to get quite a large area addressed. I've read mixed answers on whether hair transplants can be applied over areas that still have hair growing on them, so if anybody has insight on that it would be great. I'm based in Alberta, and with the world situation as it is right now I'd prefer to have any treatments done in Canada, so I've begun looking at Dr. Nakatsui in Edmonton and Drs. Hasson and Wong in Vancouver
