  1. Definitely seek a consultation with whoever you choose and make sure you ask any and all questions that you can think of. That way you can make the best informed decision possible. Best of luck to you!
  2. LadyM, I personally have had a great experience with Bosley as i have had multiple procedures with them. Bosley gets some negative remarks a lot on these forums, and rightfully so in some instances, but me personally, I am happy. Yes, you are going to a "chain" instead of a smaller, localized office, and their doctors may switch locations and not specifically be at your particular office for 25 years, but they are reputable, highly experienced doctors. As for My results, I'm not yet 2 months post-procedure so its too soon to see growth, but for some reason my head is in better shape now than any of my prior procedures. I can only hope and expect excellent results again. And as for Dr. Cornwell, he seems to be a very smart dude with experience and credentials to back it up, and who was able to answer all of my questions pre and post-op. he also has a great "bedside manner." Good luck, I am confident you are in good hands, and if they are offering a promo, jump at it, as Bosley is DEFINITELY one of the more expensive options out there today. But how else are they going to pay for those Saturday morning infomercials???
  3. So Phillym16, how were your results from Dr. Cornwell? Were you satisfied? I just had my procedure with him last Friday. He seemed to know what he was doing, and has a pretty good track record, medically speaking, and over 4 years of hair transplant experience under his belt.
  4. Hi all, I just had my 4th hair transplant last Friday, and just got my stiches out this morning. I am quite familiar with the process from here until full growth but i did have a couple of questions that I hoped some could answer for me and put me at ease a bit. As I said, this was my 4th hair transplant (1,066 grafts last week, 3,185 total from my other 3). I wanted to know if with each succesive procedure, would the growth rate retard itself due to the potential scar tissue on my head from my other procedures? Instead of new hairs popping through at 3-6 months, would my growth take longer to break the skin? Also, most of my follicles this time were transplanted around the crown of my head, where i did not have any grafts placed in prior procedures. With this said, does hair typically take longer to grow on the crown as opposed to other areas? I know patience is key with these procedures, but I just wanted to get some feedback on growth rates in this particular area of the head. Oh and for the record, I have been taking propecia for a few years now, not sure if that would accelerate growth or not. Finally, I think the majority of the hair that I currently do have is transplanted hair. Does shock loss affect these hairs, or do they typically just affect the native hairs left on my head? Thanks in advance for your responses! Scott
  5. So at what Bosley location was this done at?
  6. Thanks Doctor for the post, as discouraging as that is. Hopefully this will not be the case with me, only time will tell. I will update as time goes by to see what the end result is in my particular instance. Thanks again.
  7. That's encouraging news. Thank you for your input.
  8. Great to hear (and thanks for the very quick response). I am almost 3 weeks in to my antibiotics and have noticed a huge improvement.....no more pimples or pus. However, I still have some very dark red blotches all over my recipient area where my most infected grafts were. I am guessing this is the scarring I have read about on these posts. Did you have them as well, and if so, did they eventually fade and go away?
  9. So Mrkneed, what were the results? I have a pretty bad case of folliculitis myself and am having the same concerns. Is everything growing as expected?
  10. Thanks Dr., I appreciate the advice. I will keep monitoring my head and will take the necessary steps to get rid of this. I truly hope that my hairs are as resilient as you say they can be. This would be an awful waste of money if my hair doesn't sprout and grow because of this.
  11. I added a link below for you to see a picture of my scalp from a previous post. I have to admit, my hair does look better since I took this picture about a week or so ago. I contribute that to the meds I am on. I am still very red and spotty, but I don't feel any pimples festering under my skin. To answer your question, no, it really does not itch that much and I really don't have any whiteheads any longer either. http://hair-restoration-info.c...66060861/m/442105982
  12. Hi, I just had my third hair transplant about 75 days ago and seem to have gotten folliculitis. I am currently on antibiotics and it does seem to help (6 days of taking erythromycin so far) despite having it all over the front of my head. Unfortunately, I waited a while to have my doctor check it out and all totaled, I have had this irritation and bacteria on my scalp for about 5 weeks now before I got on the meds. Because of this, I am afraid that this will ruin my hair transplant. Anyone have any input to ease my mind?

  14. Thanks guys for the help. I went to the dr. and he said its normal for patients to have more scar tissue after a third procedure and its harder for the hairs to re-establish themselves. Hence the irritation and redness on my head. Nonetheless, he put me on antibiotics (erythromicin) just in case i have folliculitis and it seems to be working so far. I am just hoping that this will not ruin my transplant.
