  1. One year update. I was expecting it to be more fuller. But Dr Nader did say that it would take over 18 months. In fact when I compare it to the 6 month progress pics (posted here on this thread), I feel I was fuller at the 6 months stage. Is that even possible? To lose the transplanted hair due to some reason?
  2. Hello GoliGoli - The estimates provided by Dr. Nader were for 12 - 18 months for full growth. At the 6 month stage, I'm more than satisfied. Density of hair and direction of hair are what I was looking for. I think the growth is half-way there. I can still feel hair (may be half the 2800 grafts used) that are still pending growth. So in the next 6 months or so, I feel like the crown area will be fully covered. Also the direction of the hair is pretty accurate for the crown as you can see in the pictures. I have also included pictures of the sides where the hair was removed. When looking at it closer, it does look sparse. I just need to ensure I don't cut it too short. Hope this helps.
  3. I will update this post with some donor side photos as well in the coming days. I do not know the mm punch size used.
  4. Its been a little over 3 months so thought I will share some progress photos.
  5. I am 40 years old. I don't have much hair loss in the front and didn't add any grafts to the hairline as part of this procedure. This is my first procedure.
  6. Dr Nader has a designated driver that comes to your hotel in McAllen, TX and picks you up around 8 am on the day of your appointment. You drive around 20 minutes to get to the border, and then another 10 minutes through Reynosa to get to the clinic. The clinic building has a metal door that is locked that you have to go through. You don't leave the clinic for no reason until the procedure is done. I felt comfortable during the drive and while at the clinic. Hope this helps.
  7. The donor area has actually all pretty much healed. 2,800 gone trafts were removed from the donor area, one third from each section. I would say the extraction was pretty painless.
  8. Folks, I will be updating progress on my hair transplant done by Dr Luis Nader for 2,800 grafts in the crown region. The overall experience of getting the hair transplant done in Reynosa was without any hiccups. You fly into McAllen, Texas, stay in a hotel in McAllen, a driver picks you up on the day of the hair transplant and drives you to Dr Luis Nader's clinic in Reynosa. Dr. Luis is a great guy, very friendly and frank. He handles one patient in one day and does all the extraction and plugging the grafts into crown himself. This is the biggest reason why I chose Dr. Luis over clinics in Turkey. Costs, proximity, and reputation were other reasons I looked into. I am going to hold off on the verdict until my final crown area is developed (4 - 12 months), but hoping all goes well and I get dense growth in the crown area. Attached is a photo of Day 1.
  9. Isn't that what the medical doctor will recommend as part of post treatment?
  10. I am not on any medication right now. Perhaps, I should see a dermatologist here in Chicagoland first.
  11. I have consulted with the following two medical doctors in Mexico and need some help deciding which one to choose: 1. Dr Nader (Nader Medical in Reynosa) 2. Dr Cortez (Hair Medical Restoration in Tijuana) Both have recommended 2000 - 3000 grafts for the crown area. The costs are about the same (if you factor in a 10% discount that Dr Nader offers for paying cash). Both seem highly reputable based on the reviews here. I am based in Chicago, so traveling to Reynosa from McAllen, TX would be a little easier. Any thoughts on which one would be a better option? Thanks.
