  1. @Melvin- Moderator what do you think? I’d appreciate your thoughts since you also don’t use finasteride
  2. i dont want to use medication. I havent been using medication. My hairline has been pretty stable ( i honestly cant tell looking back at old photos). The contention im dealing with should pull the trigger now or wait a little bit more? I want to be conservative with my approach. My nightmare is i ruin my hair but i know that wont happen because im going to be conservative and not aiming for the teen or youthful look but then again that fear lingers in my head. I plan on going with Dr. Carman in San Diego if i go through with it. Im just suffering from paralysis analysis.
  3. nah it looks bigger than it actually is. 1200 to 1500 is what the estimate was.
  4. Im almost 31 years old. I have attached what my hair looks like normally when Im out and about. I also posted pictures what hair looks like when I pull it up. Ive been considering a HT for quite a while now but I just dont want to do it too early if you know what I mean? I talked to a few doctors and they recommended 1200-1500 grafts to spruce up the hair line. Im not looking for my teeager years hair. I just want something conservative and realistic given my situation. Right now IMO im still doing good but I have this insecurity in the back of my head that makes me want to get it done. What holds me back is if it recedes further in the coming years, then what? I can get anohter one of course but wouldnt it be wiser to wait and see where the patttern goes? I thought I can hold the line untill 35 and then do one. What do you guys think? Give me your brutally honest opinions.
  5. I can afford one transplant for sure since im single with no kids or responsiblity but the thought of affording multiple transplants just turns me off from the process. How do you guys do it? I'm trying to increase my income but thats a long and tough process.
  6. No worries man. Thanks for the info. Just gotta get the courage to get it done now.
  7. Yes he was much better. He gave me more feedback and explained things to me much better. He recommended 1200 grafts to me at a reasonable lump sum of ~$6700. Now I need to decide if i want to go through with it or not
  8. As i said i avoid what I can. No sodas, preservatives, fast food such as mcdonalds and BK etc. Make most of my food at home. Ive yet to get sick in three years, never got COVID despite traveling to two different continents. All my vitals are great except for my hair.
  9. You hit it on the head. This is exactly what Im trying to do. Side effects or not, i just dont want to put a man-made chemical into my body for perpetuity. If that hair has to go, then so be it. Id rather my body avoid any foreign chemicals not natural to its body. Thats why I didnt even take the Covid vaccine either. I just dont trust Big Pharma. Good diet + exercise can prevent a lot except for balding haha.
  10. Guys I have another question. I want to be conservative and not over harvest my donor area in order to keep it going for further uses. I am by no means trying to look like my teenager self. What I am for long term is the illusion of hair on my head/avoid looking bald. I read this on reddit: "If you are early in your hair loss and you decide to have HT, DO NOT USE UP ALL OF YOUR DONOR AT ONCE. People are getting 3-4K grafts moved on their first surgery for early hair loss. Many people only have 4-5K usable grafts in their entire donor (despite what you may read on various surgeon's sites) that they can move without exhausting the donor or making it look overharvested. You do not have to use all of your donor hair. I still have plenty of donor hair left after 2 operations in case I want to have HT number 3 someday in the future. Clinics love it when pts want a giant FUT or, more commonly, FUE, because they make way more money that way. They do not give a shit about how you will fare when you get into trouble in 5, 10, 20 years and they are long gone. I often suggest that people break the work into several smaller surgeries to allow you to see how things go, how things grow, and how they feel about HT before using up their entire donor supply." I want to avoid doing the above mentioned. One doc mentioned doing 1200 grafts my first surgery in order to be conservative. Is that okay for me at this point? Im aiming to preserve for future use. Sorry for sounding like a newb but i want to be fully informed before taking a life altering decision.
  11. not taking any meds, almost 30yo. I wanna atleast look good for another 10 years if not more. Im slowly warming up to the idea that this is a commitment and there is no going back.
  12. yeah just check my previous post. I have some recession at the front and im considered NW 3 although my hair is long enough to cover it. But i still dont like it
  13. yeah minor loss at the front. But i dont think i showed my donor area in that one post. Doctors stated that my hair has medium weight and the donor can support atleast 6000 grafts. What does medium weight mean in this context and what is everyone else's opinion? What would be considered good donor area?
  14. How does my donor area look? I know you guys aren't doctors but I feel like you guys have enough experience to give a knowledgeable opinion. How many transplants could it support?
  15. Thanks for the replies guys. Can some post a pic of what it looks like to lose hair behind a transplant? Not the very extreme cases but the normal everyday cases.
