  1. Hi @SoSoz,

Sorry for slow response. Here's a few snaps. V happy so far and it's still under 6 months, just been using Minoxidil and the Laser. Am hoping for continued growth over the next year. Crown a bit slower than the front but that was expected. Hair fibers completely cover it when needed and hoping that the growth fully covers it in next year. More hair than I've had in around 10 years so delighted with it.  These pics are without fibers, washed hair this morning, but sometimes bits stay in but this would be almost 100% natural

Congrulations with the HT, Tunit. The work looks great!

Looking forward to seeing your progress photos.

Dr. Saifi recommended the laser hat to me, but i must say i'm a bit skeptical regarding its effectiveness. Will be interesting hearing about your views about after using it for a while.

As Maize said, it is risky not using finasteride. It is of course understandable having some fears of side-effects, but if you start of by micro dosing 0,25 mg per day or 0,5 mg every other day the risks of side effects should be small. And usually the few side effects that occurs usually subside after a while. I have been on 1,25 mg for over 10 years with no side effects. I had some minor side effects in the beginning but those subsided within a few weeks.

thanks a million @im_not_a_robot, I'll update here around the laser and on fin stuff too. I feel good about the laser tbh as it's fda approved but fin definitely better at stopping further loss. I was incredibly skeptical at first hearing about the laser but the research looks good. https://hairmax.ie/clinical-research-results/
Also on David Sinclair's podcast Lifespan podcast he talks a bit about it. Off topic but it's a really good podcast in general too. That's reassuring that you haven't had side effects aside from the v initial ones on fin. Cheers for the message and hope yours is coming on nicely. :)

First of all congrats on a clean operation. All the best going forward.

However, I don't understand why someone would get a HT without using fin knowing the hair behind it will eventually thin and fall out.

Balding doesn't stop at a certain age.

Even if you were to get a second HT, you're going to need more grafts to cover hairloss you could have saved with fin. That means less grafts for the future, a larger operation which includes more trauma to the scalp and more uncertainty.

Get a generic 1mg script and split in in to 4's (.25mg) and titrate up.

Thanks Maize. I'm going to consider it, just need to get over first few days and will put a plan in place I'm comfortable with. Cheers for the reply

  4. Hi all,

Just wanted to give an update on my ht experience, as this forum and the people in it were a great help to me on my journey.

    @Rossybop @Duke1984 @Colly29Thanks

Last Tues 29th March I had my first HT with Dr Saifi in Wroclaw Poland. It was a very good experience from the beginning to the end.

Basically the format was identical to Keith's experience here so I won't repeat it all. But I want to say that I am very happy with how they looked after me on the day. Dr Saifi was very easy to talk to and is a good guy who really takes pride in his work.   I've attached a few before and afters.

My issue is that I'm not wanting to take Fin so will likely get a laser from here https://hairmax.ie/ as they are fda approved. Will continue with topical minoxidil and talk to gp about the oral form.

I enjoy going to gym so that will increase my testosterone (which is a good thing outside of hair world) and so this will inevitably lead to more dht unless I take a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor, which i'm reluctant to do. Therefore, hoping for the best with what I said above. Also if anyone has other tips would be great please. Anyway, it was a great experience, the city is lovely and so it the hotel.

Things to be v careful about. Bumping your head after, either getting into taxi but also on the plane. I had a scare on the plane grazed the top of head. Getting out of the plane, the wind took the hat off and in effort to try and catch it ended up hitting my head, would have lost a few grafts there. Having the hat on in the plane, be careful when eating not to knock the peak of the hat, did that too. Well worth getting a neck support, (like Keith has in his pics) before having the surgery so that the crown of head doesn't bang off anything when sleeping etc. Did that too, now using the neck support at home.

It's possible I'll need another touch up next year for some more density on the crown but delighted I made the first move in getting this done.

Also, I'd say to people to take 1.5 to 2 weeks off work.

Any questions at all, dm and will get back when can. Sorry bout the pics being sideways.

    Cheers,

    Tom
